really wish that they had done a Jimmy Dean guest spot on The Muppet Show....I think it would have been fantastic.

A perfect example of Jimmy Dean and Rowlf's bond.

I know, right? I'd say Jim Henson WAS Rowlf, not only in voice and character, but also the closest to who Jim was in real life.

Funny how Rowlf's basically describing The Muppet Show here.

Only, Rowlf wouldn't be the star of that show, but Kermit.

I get to play the Piano and he gets to Pay the Bills! :D

    6:25 / I Love Lucy - The Friendship Song

Actually, I think that song was written long before "I Love Lucy." I don't know who sang it first, though.

    • @haplessasshole9615

@@michaelpalmieri7335 It was Cole Porter who wrote it for his 1939 play *Du Barry Was a Lady* which starred Porter's favorite belter, Ethel Merman. It showed up in *I Love Lucy* because Lucille Ball played the lead in the movie version. Her singing was dubbed in the movie, however.
Edit: "Friendship" was added to the score of *Anything Goes* during the 1962 revival.

Hello! My name is Shoelace (duh 😂) and I’m a big fan of your channel! As a lover of Muppets rarities, you definitely have my respect! Anyway, I know you don’t take requests, but do you possibly have the Goro Noguchi special? I know it’s probably impossible to find but it’s good to ask, right? Anyway, thanks dude! -Shoe

That was Frank Fontaine, as his character, Crazy Gugenheim, a regular on The Jackie Gleason Show.

Legit question. I'm old enough that I caught it right away. My family watched *The Jackie Gleason Show* every week back in the 60s. I wondered how many people would think, "Who the heck is that?" It's a pretty obscure reference now.

Thank you so much for these! I fell in love with Rowlf back when these shows were airing live. I wanted to be a Muppeteer when I grew up, but I let "normalcy" sidetrack me. (Biggest mistake I ever made. My mental health proves it.) I was delighted to see Rowlf on piano in the first episode of *The Muppet Show* but I was disappointed to see how little they let him do. I wish they'd done a Rowlf-centric Muppet movie.
I'm glad to have lived long enough to be able to revisit Rowlf's hilarious ad libs. Funny how I get more of them, now I'm an (alleged) adult....
