- As Lorde says at the beginning, this is one of her sadder songs from Melodrama, which she actually incorporates a small amount of choreography into, (that she does with the dancers!) It continues to surprise me as I watch all these videos over and over just how much of herself she really does put into her music.
This is Lorde performing her song 'Hard Feelings' at Rogers Arena, Vancouver, BC on March 8th, 2018, during her Melodrama World Tour.

Her whole being seems like a Renaissance painting come to life
She does sorta seem like a piece of art. The painted album cover accurately portrays the feeling she exudes when you are in her presence.

It is crazy to me how she was able to make an even greater album than the first one. Don't get me wrong PH is amazing it's one of the greatest album of our generation imo. But Melodrama is just a tad bit above.
That's why I want her to take all the time she needs for a third album.
Yeah. Some artists rush their material so that they stay relevant and in the spotlight, while others take their time and work on trying to get things right. As Lorde mentioned at the concert, she has been gone a little while and realizes how much turnover there can be with fans, (especially these days where people seem to think they sometimes have to pick sides when they like 'opposing' artists.) But ultimately, cream rises to the top and those that care about substance and quality over quantity will get recognized by true music lovers. She did say she has a bunch more material languishing on her computer, and seeing as how she played 'Precious Metals', we might be lucky enough to get more from her sooner as opposed to later, even if they end up on soundtracks or something.
Melodrama is like watching a movie through music. Listen to the album in order and you’ll see what I’m talking about. It’s insane. It’s just so insane. How greenlight is like the beginning of the story setting the setting and the characters and the feeling and the story, the next few songs are the rising action. I’d say liability is the climax and then the next 2 or 3 songs are the falling action and perfect places is the denouement. The song supercut is the second to last song, and to me it sounds just like when a story is wrapping everything up and fixing all the other little problems and getting ready for the end. It’s just INSANE DUDE like Ill never get over it ever. And perfect places truly feels like and ending. It just has that feeling, at least to me

Absolutely incredible song. I have not heard lyrics which perfectly encapsulate heartbreak like the outro to the song. I had my heart broken by the first man I loved a few years ago. And it was broken my circumstance more than anything. He had to move away. There was no betrayal, no feelings of hatred, just pure devastation. The lyrics of this song so perfectly show that feeling of love lost. 'So I'll fake it every single day til I don't need fantasy, til I feel you leave. But I still remember everything, how we'd drift buying grocery, how you'd dance for me. I'll start letting go of little things til I'm so far away from you, far away from you.' Not sure if those are the exact lyrics but what an amazing song.
I love Melodrama, definitely one of the best albums of its year. I slept on this song until I properly listened to the lyrics and then that was it. Favourite song of the album.

It took me until a year after Melodrama was released until I became a Lorde fan. Now I'm obsessed with her entire discography. I'm so glad OG Lorde fans are so welcoming. We're all here because something in Lorde's art resonated with you and that's beautiful. 💛

I know an I love her singing voice but listening to her talk actually made me want to listen to her more. It's just so soothing to listen into😍
That's part of the reason I kept most of her 'chats' in the videos, instead of just the songs, because she is interesting and sweet to listen to, (along with giving some additional backstory or thought behind some of the material.)

Yeah, she is finding new life for older material. The best part is that she hasn't gotten sick of singing anything yet and still finds enjoyment in all of it. That is where some artists falter, when they 'know' they have to sing a song but don't really want to.
I suppose she really loves her songs, they are important to herself, and she also loves to try something new. What means, the songs become never old. Her Pure Heroine Songs are the best example...

I'm really sorry to hear that, but I'm glad that you have a song you can connect to and that things have gotten better with a little passing of time. I find that music is probably the greatest communicator and connector of virtually any medium. It can influence emotions, transcend intellect and take you places, both positive and negative, to confront things in your life. Sometimes a song, a verse, or a melody can hit you on multiple levels. It can remind you of something that was sad, while at the same time giving you insight into a brighter future.
Regardless of anything, the fact that it is an important song to you and can touch you while now you are able to laugh about the situation will make the song special to you forever.
Just my 2 cents anyways. :-)

Unfortunately due to the state of things, I'm not sure when the next concert I'll be attending will even be. Most of the ones I had booked are cancelled and the couple that were postponed instead of cancelled won't be until late next year sadly.

@@skaklaalwkskli I know the feeling. I had 6 concerts where I had front row seats and I was going to meet the artists that are now cancelled. 3 were initially postponed, but I guess because of the uncertainty of things, were eventually cancelled. Right now I only have a couple concerts left that have been rescheduled for late next year and as of now, I'm still meeting the artists, although that could easily change before the concerts take place. If that does happen, there better be pretty big refunds, but I'd much rather meet them than get any money back...
