I don't see what's the problem with older videos being shown. I've seen a whole lot of good skits, animations, and short film from independent creators from 9 years or 13 years ago. And personally as a small content creator, I would love my older videos to get recommended. But then again, I would love my videos to get recommended at all. As long as it's actually related to the type of content you like to watch.

The view count says it all; Slop gets 127 MILLION views, and someone pointing out the slop only gets 9k. RUclips needs to fix their services, because even myself have started to notice my attention span slowly becoming worse.
This video sums up the platform very well, and I’m glad to see someone just being honest about it for once. I started making videos 5 years ago, and RUclips (including myself for a short time) has become so disingenuous in that time that I’ve considered quitting for a while. It’s very sad.

Here's my honest thoughts, take it or leave it. I love your editing style and voice, you have a really unique persona that doesn't rely on hyperbole. With general negative state of the world I've skipped some of your videos lately because the tone has turned to "Everything sucks." Not saying you have to pretend everything is sunshine and rainbows, but you're really leaning into the negative. There is an audience for that, but as someone who found you for your more casual content, another person telling me the world is falling apart is not what I came here for. Solid constructive criticism, and i get where you re coming from. But perhaps the guys going through some shit and doing this is a cathartic way for him to deal with the frustration of how things work and how playing the game goes against his artistic wishes, and/or morals. Its a tough realization for a kid who is growing and trying to find his way. Again i get exactly what you’re saying. But perhaps this type of content helps him find his lane and succeed. I like your comment though as it seems genuine and shows you care for the guys art. Happy holidays
The biggest sham with RUclips is the fact that they removed the dislike button count. That used to save so much of my time. Now I watch horrendous videos just to not get the information that I was searching for in the first place. Plus now all of ads are getting out of control. Used to be 1 at the beginning. Now it’s at least a dozen ads in a 10 minute video. RUclips does absolutely suck.
And yet RUclipsrs, filmmakers, animators, artists, etc. are still making videos that I still find enjoyable and not overstimulating. I really love videos that have character, which includes the video I commented on.
My channel took off in 2012 and went thermonuclear by 2014. The bane of my existence was "made for kids". Some of my best performing videos that made hundreds or thousands of dollars a month based on my passion for comedy and superhero movies, nuked from orbit overnight. My only saving grace is that some of them have women in costumes too sexy to call it made for kids. The algorithm spontaneously decided certain of my videos are "made for kids" obliterated my ability to earn a living on here.

man, your editing is actually insane. ive hated the recent content styles. it's full of low effort slop with multiple videos playing at once, and ive seen people watching it. i hate corporations and their tendencies to do this over and over. we're going the wrong direction in this life, and we need to realign as soon as possible.
Man, I still watch the Yogscast. They don't really go after the algorithm. They still do Minecraft stuff among a myriad of other things but their roster of content creators feel very genuine and true to themselves.
6:30 it happened to a few other channels that I watch as well. One included being marketmania, a Canadian market analysis Guy, but he also gets passionately angry about the state of our country. He got demonetized, but shortly after got remonetized by a person after being reviewed. Funny system we got going here.

I agree, that we most certainly are "curating our life". The way i see it is, that I'm making videos, for the grand-children that I'll possibly never get to meet and know. I've never been "successful" on YT. Mostly cuz i just didn't, what i didn't know. And...I finally launched my new RUclips Channel for a brand i created called: WORK HARD PLAY HARD in May of this year. Now, I'm a very slow-learner. I do eventually "get it". But I'm no rabbit, I'm more of a tortoise. Very humble beginnings, indeed. My initial idea was to just turn on the camera, with me in it. (period) And i did! However, after the 4th upload featuring myself...i became perplexed with not really wanting to be "the guy" on camera all the way through. AND, i have a result that I'm trying to achieve...and want to be as authentic as possible, at the same time offer value to anyone that happens to click on my videos. A few months passed since the 4th and last upload, but i THINK i have found a formula for my brand that now adds value. Just uploaded the 1st. The thumb should be very easy to spot. 👍✌👊

I can't do much except give you a sub. Seeing the views on this video 6 days later at only 30k is criminal. I've seen video criticisms of RUclips both far less, and far more sanitized than this one with way more views on similarly sized channels. And it's not like this video is poorly done, either. I can feel the emotion and passion that you feel for this platform. And you combined it with great editing, great writing, and unique points. It honestly feels like a suppression of the video from the algorithm. "Who watches the Watchmen?"

I can't do much except give you a sub. Seeing the views on this video 6 days later at only 30k is criminal. I've seen video criticisms of RUclips both far less, and far more sanitized than this one with way more views on similarly sized channels.
And it's not like this video is poorly done, either. I can feel the emotion and passion that you feel for this platform. And you combined it with great editing, great writing, and unique points. It honestly feels like a suppression of the video from the algorithm.
