  • Finished up the carb swap from the stock Hitachi DCH340 to the Weber 32/36 DGEV on the L20B engine. The instructions with all these kits are not 100% accurate, you would need to have previous experience doing one or go slow on each step.
Modifications Done: Swap fuel inlet from right side to left side, reuse throttle cam from old carb, notch throttle cable bracket to move towards firewall, 1/2" NPT intake plugs.
Right after this video I adjusted the fuel mixture screw and idle screws mainly because it ran out of gas in the temp bottle and I only use clear gas (non-ethanol) until its driven more.
Comment if you have done this swap or plan to sometime, Thank you!!!

That is true. Best way to prevent that is take them apart every two years and spray black rust olem on the chassis, floorboards inner fenders, underneath the bed, everywhere and anywhere salt and road chemicals might form along with washing your truck as much as you can wash it to prevent it from rusting completely out.

Yes they have the best character imo. I had a 74 620 4x4, they do use Jeep conversion parts back then.

When i had original dual points, they were emissions related, one was retarded for coasting and idle, the other set was normal (advanced) for acceleration (driving). There is some switching relay on carburetor that tells which set to run depending on throttle position, i can't remember whether it was the front or back set of points but just connect both set of leads/feeds to one set of points and it will run way better on one of the points when it is the drive set...

I had the later emissions with dual points before, yanked it out and used the matchbox Dizzy swapped in it. This one is a simple single point setup, no troubles.

Thank you Juan!!! We have added a couple more hours of tuning the carb and getting rid of the exhaust air injection sounds you hear in the video.... much smoother and quiet.

Yes, the Weber 32/36 will work with an L16 adaptor plate to the J15 motor. Might need some tuning but usually its fine out of the box.
