Good run thru! I love my crown XLS amps! They are a bang for the buck! I started with the 1002 which now runs my center and a 1502 running L/R and the 2502 running 2 15's @ 1ohm. I run my system HOT n BASS heavy and I haven't blown up the 2502 yet! I doubt I will since it has a protection shutoff circuit which I have tripped a few times. I have a video if you wanna see them in action. Cheers!
FYI, the Crown XLS series have current limiting capabilities to prevent damage running below 2 ohm (4 ohm bridged). The amp will deliver more power into 2 ohm x 2 than it will into 1 ohm loads. It cuts power by about 1/3rd if pushed into 1 ohm load
Security does not use a code. It’s just that if you select security and then want to unlock the buttons all you have to do is push the 2 right hand side buttons in together to unlock. So don’t be afraid to select security mode.
I like this Crown XLS 2502 so much, I am going to get another one and bridge them for L and R channels for 1550w @ 8ohm per amp. I am also going to grab a couple Behringer A800's and bridge them for dual bass out amps for 800w @ 8ohm per amp. The pre-amp I will be getting in a couple weeks is the Emotiva BasX PT-100 Stereo Preamplifier/DAC/Tuner which has dual summed bass outs. I may consider a 3rd Crown XLS 2502. Thinking of also using an A/V receiver at 7.2/9.2/11.2 channels. I would use the pre-amp outs for the front 3 channels and subs. I would use the A/V receiver to control and amplify the surround speakers only. I would only operate on continuous at 25% of total power max ever in my home....for a very clean sound. However, I have the equipment to use the Crown amps in my pro rig as well. Thanks for listening Hammy.
Actually very well done 👌... Very good information for folks who are interested. I'm going to buy 1502 to drive my two infinity 1040 subs which were meant for car.
I'm sure you'll be pleased. These amps are super powerful and quiet. They have fans, but I can't hear them running, so either they are extremely quiet, or I haven't pushed my amp hard enough for the need of a fan.
has anyone else ever noticed when owning a XLS series amplifier when turned on you hear a high pitch sound just from the amp its self nothing connected i owned two Crown xls 1502's and both did it that bothered the hell out of me since the amps were only 3 ft away in my bedroom
No... they don't. Here is a link to the owners manual. 3e7777c294b9bcaa5486-bc95634e606bab3d0a267a5a7901c44d.ssl.cf2.rackcdn.com/product_documents/documents/2557_1431030087/5055568_XLSDC2_MNL_PRINT_050615_original.pdf
It's a piece of crap! This is a DJ pro low-quality amp, not for home use! DSP is a crappy 16bit 48kHz. Class D amp has a low 200kHz switching frequency. Good for driving a subwoofer not full range speakers. It clips at 2X170W. I've tested it in my home. It sounds like crap playing music in stereo compared to my Yamaha RX-A2070 receiver...
the only piece of crap is your bullshit nonsense opinion. You obviously know crap. I guess it hurts when you pay more for your amp and do not get even half the power we get with the crown. lol Its ok, we get it
We need an update review with you using this in your rig...can't wait for it.
I just purchased this exact model. Your video is certainly going to help with the setup!
Enjoyment factor is high....

I just ordered a 1502 to drive my 2x18inch JBL subs in my home theater.
what's the experience so far with 1502 and 2x18 subs ?

Your opinion has been cataloged and transferred to file 13. Nice day!
@@HammyTechnoid is file 13 like saying Area 51? lol....I am thinking file 13 is the trash can. Anyway, I think the DSP in the XLS 2502 is 24bit/96khz
@@johnoakes7922 Oh Yeah.. file 13 was like a slang military jargon.. trash can for sure.
