Looking forward to seeing how this performs against the df64v. If you can do a comparison test, especially around clarity, that would be useful. Loves the review subbed and liked! Also would you say the x54 has excellent, good, decent, bad or poor clarity?
Planning to make a few blind tests, hopefully soon. Regarding the clarity, I think it does a little better than you’d think it would. It does a solid job. It presented light roasts quite nicely. Let me know of there is anything else you’d like covered in videos 👍🏻
@@azza2575 did you mean taste preference? Or my usual test regime for espresso tests? If taste, I tend to sit in modern espresso - I favour light roasted single origin coffees, which present brightly and clearly. I think the Ditting steels will help with clarity, certainly a step towards my general taste preference. They are slower to grind. No worries, keep the questions coming 👍🏻
@@jackowens_ oh yeah sorry I meant taste preference. That's good to know about light roasts. I think I'm going to sell my 78s for the x54. I have a kopi Deva for single dosing which I absolutely love. I guess another question I have is, you've had this grinder for a year or so, what would you upgrade to and why?
@@azza2575 interesting. I also have a Timemore 078s (review on my channel also) Interested to hear what is making you sell it? It’s a hard one to answer without intended use, preferences and budget. I’ve been fortunate enough to have and try quite a few grinders at this point across varying price ranges.
It’s a hard one to say as they fit different needs I think. If we’re saying taste alone, I prefer the X54. I struggled a bit with the Timemore. No doubt, the Timemore has a nice workflow, perfect for single dosing in the home and the X54 can be a bit difficult with retention, but it’s not designed to be that I guess. I hope to upload some thoughts on DF64v soon…
its affordable grinder? It is made for drip coffee. It's easy to use and to buy. EK43 is better for Espresso coffees. the 54-gearing made of mostly plastic parts has low attraction compared to the EK the 54 is not made to last? hugs wheelchair larry @@jackowens_

Oh wicked.
Whats your tester preference with Espresso?
And lastly, do you think swapping to the dittings is worth it?

Really impressive setup

The X54 does well with espresso too. That's what I mainly have used it for.
