It's crazy you put this out because last night I actually did a very similar build with level 2 wasp flank 😂 so much fun!
While pivoting to overlords kept up the theme and exploited wasp upgrades, Because of all the anti air your opponent built up I think teching into ground could've been stronger.
A final curveball so to speak.
This being said you indeed won the arms race so, A W's a W.
I feel you're 100% right. Ground would've been smarter. I guess I have a habit of getting carried away with theme like you said 😁
Upgrading the sledgehammers with the repair and health link would have been a serious curve ball as it requires some serious investment to counter in return.
I disagree. Overlords with the armor upgrade are virtually immune to mustangs, and he forced his opponent into mustangs. Even if he loses the 1st overlord round, the tech upgrade guarantees the win.
Props for finding a way to make wasps work, that's no easy feat, I've tried lol
Im experimenting between using bubble shield and mustangs w/ anti-missile upgrade. There's a lot to factor. 1. Whether they redeploy their units cause now the battle lines where units meet will change. versus things whether the 100 unit + 300 upgrade cost is good versus 100 cost shields each round.
Whenever someone overcompensates for a wasp flank, especially with arclights and mustangs, I move them and add a rhino with self-destruct in their place, killing all the units they built for that flank so they don't achieve much later
I love using crawlers and wasp combo with wasps all on one side so they get deep into tangs. I purposely get kicked around for two rounds then buy a vulcan with fire missles. And reduce most of their army with one unit. Then run away with the game.

Someone tried something similar to me one time, constantly swapping position and always being heavy on 1 side. Either flanks or left or right etc. Admittedly steel balls carried the whole thing because almost nothing kill those things fast enough and they counter almost everything in the game i feel lol
Steel Balls are definitely nutty if they get out of hand 😁 If they get a level or 2 before your opponent reacts, oh man. Literally feel immortal
@@CobStrategy Had level 7 linked steel balls in one match. They litterelly rolled throught their flank.
Somebody just tried this exact move- exactly the same move- about an hour ago.
My steady supply of Sledge's, Fangs and Marksmen dealt him a poor enough hand, that he GG'd on round two :(

Yo! Yea, a life time of working with Americans and living abroad has mucked up my accent haha. North-east England is my starting point though, not far from Newcastle!

Enemy was just really really bad. Put crawler under the wesps, theyll run away, wesps will follow and get shot by something else in meantime. super easy to counter.
He did almost everything wrong. Just bring up one strung site to break trough and get one of your bases. The wesps would be completely useless and killed by one group mustangs while they follow some crawlers.
Or bring up the heavy guys with anti air... Just so much wrong on your enemy's site...
Yep! Every strategy can obviously be countered and should be adjusted accordingly :P That's the video game
@@CobStrategy sure they can. But some are hard some are not. This one is very weak 😅

Or just put a shield on your grounds units. No way this works longer than 2 rounds against a decent player.
Hmm, barriers are expensive in early rounds vs. spending 50 to move your Wasps, so it's an interesting chess game vs. your opponent for sure.
Additionally, I did say many times in the video that if you can't throw a 'curve ball' each turn, then get your Wasps out of there!
Every strategy in the game can be countered if you make a bad read on your opponent's next move. That's why I love this game so much 😁
