Thanks for the gold medal, J7Jase! I originally listened to the video on my earpiece while working, but was informed on Discord of a certain clip I had to go and watch, so I made sure to actually watch it during my lunch break here. Seeing the AMFO clip of a silly bug that came up when I was on the Jot5 team as part of the Jot5 representation was hilarious! The Dante event was another great choice - it was one of the early iconic events that just blew people away and showed how action-packed scenes could be in this game, and made during a time when action events were much, much harder to make. If there's any event that shows the passion that went into Chapter 1 back in the day, that's definitely it. ReMixed is still actively in development, with a lot of stuff currently in the pipeline. The Dark Knights are getting some skill fixes - Abyssal Blade will finally work as intended (though with simple 25% damage reductions per row rather than the unnecessarily and unintuitively complicated formula of WotL) and Unholy Sacrifice will now use Brave or Faith based on the equipped weapon, with katanas sharing Brave alteration with knight swords, and axes getting the faith calculation of fell swords. Vehemence is also there now, with Adeptness moved to Samurai (both to buy AND as a passive) that keeps its 20% output boost and will come with katana breakage protection to help justify using it instead of Attack or Magic Boost. Mustadio's Arm Aim and Leg Aim skills are going to get the functionality of consuming Move first instead of Act if the user hasn't moved or acted first, allowing you to take a second action afterwards (even trying another Aim if you want). Seems appropriate for Snipe skills! I'm also working on a form of Doublecast, which I'll probably replace EXP Boost with and set up as a Support skill on the Calculator job. After that, longer-term ideas include replacing poaching with synthesis and, of course, finally getting the WotL script in there. I did want to mention, though - I haven't seen you note that you can skip non-battle events by holding Start as events begin, camera movements end, or messages close. (Works well with holding X for Cross-Skip at the same time!) Or that this mod has a variant of Smart Encounters (called Smrt Encounters) that works the same way, just requires you to hold Circle while moving around the map. These are easily missable/forgettable features, so I thought I should bring them up in case you were unaware!

TLW ReMix is so damn good. I just finished my first run through it last month and I was blown away by what they added to the original game. I also replaced most of the sprites with ones I found on ffhacktics and did a little save editing, it was such an enjoyable experience overall even without that stuff. Though I had no luck getting the deeper menu & portrait customization working with the patch, and certain sprite frames glitched during the cutscenes... but playing this rom hack directly on my freshly cfw'd ps3 was a blast. I even came up with the final form of the custom unit I've been using for like 20 years. Using Lune Knight as the base job class, I decided to add Limit as the secondary ability set since they made the skills work with other swords that aren't Materia Blade (i.e. Excalibur), and then Short/Non Charge as support ability, MP Switch for reaction, and Move 3 for movement. This thing absolutely wrecks shit, especially with Meteorain. And I can leave Orlandu & Cloud benched. Also gave him the custom Gologras or whatever sprite on hacktics, basically Wiegraf's temple knight with a black tunic & different portrait with eyepatch. I also turned Mustadio into Solid Snake and it was 1000% a better experience. Ramza Mercenary with the cape sprite is killer too, he deserved a costume like that instead of assless chaps.
"The Lion War Remixed is the holiest of grails." -Rick Harrison It is an amazing mod and to me its just amazing. Love the stuff you did with your game as well! Nice.
@@J7Jase It really is, I can't praise it enough. The hard work those modders put in is on another level. Works perfectly fine on the vanilla version... Another item on the wish list, adding the WotL exclusive items. That would truly make it the definitive version of the game if they could pull that off. I mean, they've already added so much that had no foundation in the base game... Funny enough, I decided to give Orlandu Starry Heaven for his secondary to make him even more OP, even though I don't ever use him in this file. It's appropriate right?
@@J7Jase Oh I'm not looking for validation or anything. I've put in my dues on the vanilla game countless times over the years. Though I have to admit I have not been able to beat the stupid Mime Rendezvous mission, and the 11 Algus Death Knight one nearly kicked my ass even with my edited team. @@J7Jase Have you actually played FFT 1.3? "A few good design choices" is a bit of an understatement in my humble opinion. Of course several story battles are ridiculously difficult, almost impossible to beat. They implemented amazing changes to the classes, altered the battle mechanics significantly, redesigned a ton of items - all about balancing. These changes created an incredibly different gameplay, resulting in re-thinking every possible strategy or character build. Heck, so many classes I haven't even looked at or considered them as "meh... I don't need this" suddenly became critical for beating various battles. Think of the changes in Archer/Marksman, Wizard, Calculator/Sage, or the modifications of Rafa and Malak, stat growth changes, et cetera - these are all fundamental changes. Of course, Archael suddently abandoning the project is a different matter. I also didn't feel delighted about several changes later in the development, but 1.3 definitely deserves to be mentioned. I need to look at more FFT mods than I have thus far. One I have played that wasn’t on here though that definitely deserves some attention is Cerabow’s Mod. It’s another rebalance/overhaul mod, something in the same relative vein as what Lapis Tactics looks to be, but it is SO good. Big equipment changes and rebalances, huge class changes including the unique classes, and while it’s not strictly a difficulty mod it is more difficult than vanilla by simple virtue of the enemies being better equipped and such (as well as battles starting to feature generic versions of unique classes like holy/dark knights) As someone who’s been playing FFT since he was 7, Cerabow’s Mod was like getting to play the game for the first time again and I can’t recommend it enough, my words here don’t do it service. Though maybe one of the most glowing praises I can give it is that I actually used Rafa and Malak quite a lot lmao (in general I found which special characters I used to rotate quite a bit throughout the game, and I even kept a couple generics in my teams late game with one of them persisting in my team even for the final battles because the Sage class that replaces Calculator is awesome)

I personally recommend it without mods first in nearly all cases. Then if you love it play it with mods. Yeah the PSP version War of the Lions is the remastered version with a new script, bug fixes, newly animated cutscenes and so on. However it does have a slowdown on abilities so modding out the slowdown is recommended.

Available to buy on mobile for Android and Apple. Or you can emulate the PSX or PSP version to enjoy mods with! I would recommend ReMixed and not JUST because I'm biased, heh. With the QoL features in it, it's probably the ideal way for a newbie to experience the game. There's alot of good features in these mods, has anyone done a level creator mod? It'd be cool to have a Mario Maker style game where levels could be uploaded and rated by the community
Definitely not feasible, I'm afraid. While there are map-making tools, they're not nearly as user-friendly as something like that. The game would have had to be built from the ground up (or the devs would have to release THEIR tools from back in the day) in order to get features like that!

@@J7Jase I just thought about something. A monster ability hack might soft lock ppl in the "protect Luso" battle. Imagine all those Behemoths using giga flare, twister, and almagest on Luso lol.
I’ve never played journey of the five because honestly I don’t like too much fan crossover that feel like a newgrounds era thing. But if you endorse it might give it a try. I’m also surprised not even an honorable mention to 1.3, it’s pretty divisive but a huge part of FFT hacking history. One question, is Remix really that good? I downloaded it but stopped playing because it had many bugs and I had just “completed” regular The Lion War mod, so I wasn’t thaaaat enthusiastic. Maybe I’ll give it another go.
I didn't really pay attention to the story much. But gameplay wise its fun. I wouldn't take it as canon or something. As for 1.3 if it wasn't for being one of the first mods and for having a cool name it wouldn't have been as popular. Also the project has long been abandoned so I can't give that an honorable mention. I did a playthrough recently and didn't have bugs myself. Its more like vanilla FFT with quality of life.
One of the problems with adding extras to the original game is that its very full, so in order to add the FFTA races you would need custom sprites but then you would have to replace existing jobs/sprites. Replacing sprites is easy enough but creating them is no joke.
Glad you loved the fan art! I'll have a video featuring artists I use in the future. Pretty much a guide on how to pick an artist for commissioned works etc. and so on lol

playe celdia long ago its fresh but not that engaging. lion war tho its impressive, its close to perfect tbh. lion war is definitely the best fft mod currently have. tho after so many times playing the game over and over, no mod can entice to play the game. that lapis mod kinda interesting but the writing quality looks not that good. having an alternate story to vanila story would be nice like playing a new character involved into the war which offer new story branch and ending to save ovelia or smth, playing from delita's perspective telling his story of his suffering and his determination to use everyone as tool and what he exactly done to become king. gameplay mods over and over become stale at this point especially after the community cook the game for so many years and already created masterpiece which is the lion war mod
Damn, no mention of Tides of Fate or 1.3? These are the mods that separate the men from the boys and gives the game a breath of fresh air to those whom seek a challenge!

I’m torn though, as I want a mod that does increase difficulty but also has good quality of life features. I’ve started the 1.3 mod but everything I’ve read is towards the end it just cheeses you… thoughts??
1.3 isn't really FFT. You could just do a no grind or limited run.
We love you, Jase! Praise the Lord!
Thanks so much for the wonderful comment! Just doing what I love and glad there is an audience for it.
Thank you!
@@J7Jase I love final fantasy tactics, Jesus, and You.
You keep on keeping it gangster.
@@braveherogreenleaf6256 Really appreciate the comment! More stuff to come and don't worry it's 98% more FFT lol
@@J7Jase Well, it's just... You're proof fun things like FFt and magic the gathering aren't against his will. I lost a girlfriend to devotion, you know? Just... thanks for being You, buddy. I'm a huge fan.
@@braveherogreenleaf6256 Aww man I'm sorry to hear about your girlfriend.
Life can be just so complicated and hard. So sometimes I try to enjoy the moment because I don't know about the future.
Thanks for being a fan and of course being here. I hope you find enjoyment in the upcoming FFT videos and I wish you the best of luck in everything you want, from health, wealth and anything else!
Hey, got a link for the Final Fantasy Tactics The Lion War Ultimate discord server?
discord.gg/tK3RXy7q
right here
thanks :D
I cant seem to find the fft ultimate so if you could tell me whwre it is that would be great
discord.gg/UmaR6k6u
Here we go that Discord should provide the link and download
@@J7Jase thanks it worked and seems interesting
Is there a mod thats basically vanilla but all monsters have their hidden ability without beast master?
Good question from what I know, not that I'm aware of.
I tried checking FFHacktics but I don't see a mod to what you are describing. But that is a cool idea for a mod for sure though.
@@J7Jase I just thought about something. A monster ability hack might soft lock ppl in the "protect Luso" battle. Imagine all those Behemoths using giga flare, twister, and almagest on Luso lol.
@@antoniodiaz4896Oh yeah, giving them free access to those skills makes that battle utterly impossible lol.
I wish there was a mod that remade Final Fantasy Tactics Advance into the Original one. Making the Race System would probably be hell though.
I imagine that sprite work would be tough and changing the events and etc.
One of the problems with adding extras to the original game is that its very full, so in order to add the FFTA races you would need custom sprites but then you would have to replace existing jobs/sprites. Replacing sprites is easy enough but creating them is no joke.
She looks exactly the way I imagined when i got a crush on her 20 years ago
Glad you loved the fan art! I'll have a video featuring artists I use in the future.
Pretty much a guide on how to pick an artist for commissioned works etc. and so on lol
On Chapter 3 of Remix right now
Love to hear it!
Hey how big of a laptop would I need to run this game
Should have no issues with emulation
@@J7Jase also for the big long weapon grind charters that are deleveled and relevel up cuz three out of 5 of then are just so and dues almost mastering all jobs for those characters matter too
What are your thoughts on 1.3?
I mean, It has a good name and there were a few good design choices and it was one of the first mods.
As for difficulty, it is a different kind of difficult like how an SSCC is difficult. Not to mention the creator abandoned the mod and left without saying anything when there were a lot of fans. I can't respect that.
Thank you! I was wanting to play FFT again but hate the psp version because I cannot understand what they say, but the original felt a bit stale since I’ve played it from 1999 onwards!
Glad you found this helpful and liked the mod show cases!
What is the mod for the Ramza 's class? That's so cool!
I think you might have seen it in the comments. But the Ultimate Mod that Forrest made
Ah, thanks! I was trying to search for it in google but it didn't show up. Is there a link for it in ffhacktics or is it discord only? Also, the discord link doesn't work.
@@J7Jase Sorry but do you mind if I ask you for the newest link for the Discord?
@@shirounurimba6898 discord.gg/Qc63qX6y
Hopefully it works
@@J7JaseYeah, that works. Thanks so much!
Good list.
TY
Can we do anything to get FFT on Steam T.T
Just be patient and in the mean time just back up your UMD and play it via emulation. Which is free mind you.
I also heard subscribing to my channel increases the chances of it coming to steam and having better luck in life
@@J7Jase holy shit, ill take that chance! Subscribed!
@@TommyLandon Lol ty but I would say just wait. Since they eventually ported a lot of titles to Steam
can this be played on android psx emulator?
It can yeah but idk how to set it up personally
Thanks for bringing these to peoples attention, Sorry you have a robotic voice though. Thats gotta be rough. However, Ron Jeremy isn't a star to be really....comparing things to, unless that mod was indicted/did things to women.... Do you have a favorite mod of all the mods that exist?
@@Baron_Lio 🤣🤣
I like lapis mod but it too difficult for not pro player cause enemy healing and reviving too much hp more like almost full hp everytime
Don't blame you and its a completely different game not necessarily pro player by any means at all
มันสามารถเล่นในมือถือได้หรือไม่😢
It can but sadly idk how to set it up on mobile phones
playe celdia long ago its fresh but not that engaging. lion war tho its impressive, its close to perfect tbh. lion war is definitely the best fft mod currently have. tho after so many times playing the game over and over, no mod can entice to play the game. that lapis mod kinda interesting but the writing quality looks not that good. having an alternate story to vanila story would be nice like playing a new character involved into the war which offer new story branch and ending to save ovelia or smth, playing from delita's perspective telling his story of his suffering and his determination to use everyone as tool and what he exactly done to become king. gameplay mods over and over become stale at this point especially after the community cook the game for so many years and already created masterpiece which is the lion war mod
No worries to each their own in what he/she likes
I Hop we get a new FFT😢
I hope you subscribe to me
Add RUclips Chapters!
Sorry but I need the watch time and retention rate lol but I still think and feel I get to the point and make way shorter videos than other RUclipsrs.

Seek help.
Lol
Damn, no mention of Tides of Fate or 1.3?
These are the mods that separate the men from the boys and gives the game a breath of fresh air to those whom seek a challenge!
😂 Creator abandoned the project and left without saying a word, it's disrespectful.
