I went to MFK store the other day, the personal was so nice: love love Pluriel and Grand soir; then I went to Jovoy where one girl helped me a lot with amber fragrances: Ambre Loup of Rania J surprised me a lot, so did Ambre Russe.lol I should try Sens Unique, have never heard of it before. Cheers!
Jovoy looks heavenly! I will definitely make a stop there if I ever go to Paris. Do they give free samples I wonder? ;) I have smelt a bit of the older Roja Dove stuff and while i don't doubt the quality his perfumes are nothing groundbreaking. The one's I've smelt reminded me of existing classics remade with perhaps better materials (or maybe the existing classics were screwed by reformulations). But for that kind of money i rather buy the original Guerlain or Jean Patou 1000. Fragrance Du Bois have always rubbed me the wrong way. A few years ago when I was based in Singapore, I went to their boutique to test out Xerjoff and Parfums de Marly. I smelt their "25 year" aged oud oil and i thought it smelt really interesting. I didn't have a first good impression on their perfumes though. It was as if they took their base oud oil and slap every conceivable colour to produce a bottle. Strange creations include the orange one which smelt like orange fanta and the violet variation which smelled artificial. The worse out of the bunch was the marine one, calone and oud. Glade air freshener in a bottle! They had Sahraa and London Oud which smelt good from first impression but these were also the one that smelt most middle eastern to my nose. For those prices I think i would rather explore a proper attar house. I prefer to support a house that pushes forward interesting and hopefully original compositions and not try to ride on a luxury element. For the same reason, I'm a bit wary of the House of Oud too. I adore a number of Neela Vemeire's stuff. Bombay Bling is indeed the gourmand one out of the whole lot.
Looks like we share similar opinions on certain houses. :) I'll probably speak about sample begging in Paris sometime in a future video. Hope all is well! :D
Thanx so much for sharing ur trip experience... Love them so much... Regarding perfume, refer to the 1st shop, its a ridiculous to sell a perfume besides the swarovskis and so on... To me, its kinda spoilt the authentic of the pure essence of fragrances... Such as mud-blood in the Harry Potter series...
"Heaven, I'm in heaven, And my heart beats so that I can hardly speak ..." Just curious, were any of the shoppes generous with samples? One would hope.
What happened too pretty, exotic perfume bottles, a lot of the fragrance reviews that I watch on RUclips says that they smell wonderful But the bottles are so playing, IDK I'm just asking
the woman at the jo malone counter (speaks fluent english) in "la fayette" paris was super nice!! she even gave me lots of samples even tho i said i wasn't buying ! i have not had a rude treatment so far in any store, from any brand, except from a couple at "la fayette" in berlin who had a certain air. when they do that i show them who the boss is, which is me - the buyer, and i put them to work by asking for this and that... hehehe i will not tolerate it. afterall, it's because of us that they have a job. :-)
The stuff that dreams are made of! Thanks for all the eye candy; this video will definitely be marked among my favorites.👌🌟✨
A romantic trip to Paris, the husband got ditched in the hotelroom and Arlene went shopping for fragrances.
LOL Sjaakie Sjaakie! :D
Sjaak De Vries actually i went along to all shops. I m easily bribed with the promise of a good evening dinner 😁
Enjoyed 😀 Very much. Talk about being overwhelmed, I was just by watching 😄♥️
Looks like my dream. You are so lucky Arlene. I would be totally over-over-overwhelmed.

Do Jo Malone staff from different cities compete to have the rudest staff? I vote for Amsterdam having the worst.
Ikr?!??! What is up with that? It must be their business strategy :P
