    Question, Why didn't you set the zipper behind the buttons so the flap would cover it to help keep water out???

    Hi! Good video. I like this tent also. Sligh note. In polish we don't have and use that word: lavvu ;-). We speak Polish for it: pałatka (read: p.a.w.a.t.k.a, better check the pronunciation of a word on translator) Lavvu.. is a Sami tent, a kind of tipi, lower tipi, more resistant to strong wind and this is a word from the Sami language (Scandinavian Lapland). Funny journey of words, verbal/naming mess. We (Polish people) made the military raincoat which is called "pałatka" (two are made into a tent), and there is a word for it in English: tipi, tepee but almost everyone calls it: "lavvu" - Sams tent. So the name "polish lavuu" give's U polish sams tipi/tent ;-)

    • @Canadian_Craftsman
      @Canadian_Craftsman  3 года назад

      Yes you are right my friend Plash Palatka is the correct name thanks for the lesson though much appreciated my friend stay strong&healthy safe&happy!!(=✌💚

    • @adboroutdoor..7662
      @adboroutdoor..7662 3 года назад +1

      @@Canadian_Craftsman In this name: "plash palatka" is "plash" an English word? I'm asking because in Polish we haven't this word also.. we have "płaszcz" and it is a coat. pronunciation like in words: p - P-lum ł - W-ow a - A-sk sz- SH-ock cz - CH-elsea.. It sounds similar, but without "-cz"

    • @adboroutdoor..7662
      @adboroutdoor..7662 3 года назад +1

      I was right.. this word is also in Russian.. Плащ (Plashch). So.. the name should read: Plashch pał(l)atka. And word "палатка" (pałatka) came to Poland from Russia, means a tent.

    I just had my zipper sewn on now, copied you, now I’m scratching my head, what happens when you zip it down at night and could piss down with rain. Cus the zip is down, you can’t fold the the flap over to button up, so the water will leak trough the button holes on the right hand side pal 😳👍🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

    • @Canadian_Craftsman
      @Canadian_Craftsman  3 года назад +1

      Lol yeah these are not "WATERPROOF" I would pitch a tarp over like a rain fly.. also these are for COLD weather especially this was the easiest way to do the zippers in my opinion!!😁👍

    • @alanchinn7259
      @alanchinn7259 3 года назад +1

      @@Canadian_Craftsman yeah tarp a good option, and you could un zip it all the way to the top then you can do the buttons up I suppose, if the weather is going to be crap. I’m going to fabsil mine with waterproof sealant as well. Cheers pal 👍😁
