Actually, when this show started, CW was still a drama centric channel in the likes of Gossip Girl and One Tree Hill. So this show coming out for its time was intended to be a game changer for the network. Sadly the show had to be catered towards that demographic with slight-but-unnecessary network pressured tweaks, making filler moments where there were “you had a child with another women!” drama, etc. The first season was almost free of all that, which is why I believe it was the strongest in terms of execution. Even the fight choreography involved people from the Bourne films and it really showed. Once the subsequent seasons moved from a Thursday to the Friday Night deathslot, their budget was reduced, as evident with the lack of intense choreographed fight scenes. Tig Fong became their replacement and under the circumstances, he did the best he could respectfully (didn’t help that Maggie suffered an injury in season 2 - it was PAINFUL just reading about it). All that said, even with some notable flaws, the series ended on such a good note. The whole series was an underdog that received closure and that to me was important. And boy was it satisfying. Good for you for even making this! I wanted to make my own 10th anniversary “trailer” special for this show but sadly missed the mark. It’s also been more than 10 years since the series went off air. How time flies.
