    Love ur vids they are very helpful. I’ve been training for a year now and have increased my vert from 17 - 25 inches. It still isn’t very high so I want to know what non weighted exercise uses I could do to further increase my vertical significantly. I trained with only plyos for the past year.

    • @troliskimosko
      @troliskimosko 21 день назад

      The best exercise is always gonna be low rim dunking. But after that you are eventually going to need access to a weight room to unlock your true potential

      If you can’t use weights, SL calf raises, squats, and glute bridges along with hamstring curls will build a strong foundation

    Just Got my first dunk last week at 15, ~4m old 6 ft and 175 lbs. I got it out of like 7 try's after I got a 33 in vert for testing at school. I was like WOW I had no idea I could jump that high. I just lift normally 5 days a week never training my vert. I put it into a dunk calculator and I said I could dunk so I went out and tried and got it.

    Hey Isiah !!! I just wanna ask if how do I extend my penultimate step on a 2 foot jump ?? And also , what happens if my Tendons are too elastic but not stiff

    • @kehmer
      @kehmer 21 день назад +3

      what helped me was trying to fully extend my knee and lead your plant foot with your knee instead of having your foot out.

    My first dunk was at 14 years old. I was 5'5. I could only get it from running behind the hoop in the driveway, then turn in the air and finish left-handed. If I tried to do it head on, I'd clip the pole on my landing every time. I remember a neighbor coming outside I never talked to in my life yelling at me "Holy shit did you dunk that ball?" 😂

    One thing I've realized over time is that I have incredibly short arms, or incredibly bad flexibility. I am 6'1 on a good day and standing reach is only 7'10". Most guys my height can reach at least 8' so maybe I need to work on standing reach?

    Should I be dunking. I’m 16 at 5’9 and have a 39 inch vertical and I still can’t dunk😭 is that high enough to be dunking

    • @DavidBergman1776
      @DavidBergman1776 21 день назад +1

      Well, how high can you touch on the rim. To be able to dunk, you need to hit the bottom of your wrist when jumping as a bare MINIMUM. If you're off two you essentially need to dunk with two hands off two to dunk with one hand off two.

    • @caleb874
      @caleb874 19 дней назад +1

      im 5'8 with a 39 inch vert. idk abt you but i can grab ring pretty comfortably, but cant dunk yet. really depends on how long your arms are, but you should be pretty close to dunking
