@@keshkeeper14 it's to a point that when I see Nick saban on TV, I'm almost confused as to who this random dude I, he's not even doing his classic catch phrase😂
I wonder if this could fold into the whole CJUniverse and Jackson could end up competing with The Don and Scooby when they get to college, Jackson B is the established RB in the NCAA. This is too goated of a character arc to not fold him into the CJUniverse and have this legendary series as his backstory.
Well Scooby’s only a freshman so unless Jackson redshirts because of his coach, he’ll be out of college by the time scooby gets there, and LSU isn’t in Don’s top 3 so outside of them potentially playing each other, there’s not much of a chance for them to interact
I know plenty of guys like Darryl because I've been Jackson in many situations whether it was school or work. The hate for a good work ethic when you're not the chosen one is real.
I can totally see what happened. Darryl was in an area lighting it up since he was a sophomore. Had lots of offers, and looked the part at camps in shorts and t-shirts. He was always paired with top-talent they were recruiting so he always looked good. Then he got a big payday and he basically is mailing it in, the competition level has stepped up, and he hasn't adjusted. Jackson prob went to mid-tier large school in the Dallas area. He was probably a 1-year starter and spilt time his junior year with a guy who was G5 level player. So he lacked the stats or the team success to really create buzz. But the guy recruiting the area saw the measurables, and knows maybe players from the school are well coached, they just dont have top-end talent, or maybe they are poorly coached and the player just needs some coaching. Either way they have to fill out recruiting classes so as players committed or recruits followed the coach to USC they took Jackson on a flyer, Jackson probably didn't even probably have a position they were just taking a body and figuring what what to do next when he arrived on campus.
That prob helped Jackson in a way b/c it made sure he kept up his crazy work ethic. Now it's become a habit he'll keep up the rest of his life. Meanwhile Darryll's been coasting on natural talent and hit a wall now that he's in D1.
Them being friends is on Darrell. Jackson was open and friendly until Darrell started beef. I’m with you on hoping they become lifelong friends. But from where we are now I’m fully supportive of Jackson throwing shade. Be better Darrell, on and off the field.
I've been saying this from the beginning. Jackson is 6'3", runs a 4.3, has a 42 inch vertical, and is a monster in the weight room. Bro is basically DK Metcalf. Let him go catch TDs while Darrell averages 2.8 yards a carry
This story reigns so true. I'd say anywhere from 5-15% of recruits ranked 4-5 star eventually become busts in college. People that got overlooked or only promoted in their Junior/Senoir year sometimes don't get the notoriety that helps their recruitment stock blow up. Alot of kids with NIL affecting even High Schoolers now can over inflate a lot of egos and people that never had to face adversary. Wether it be soft lower state dividison, playing on a team of recruited players, or playing on a historically great team/program but never playing out of conference/state opponents. I'm curious if they ever curb NIL, adjust recruitment strategies, and with the proliferation of social media can we see a shift in the recruitment landscape?
I hope this conversation really does light a fire under Daryl to live up too his standard that got him there. Everyone loves competion and both rbs can get better is daryl gets his act together

For those who don't realize... this corrupt crap happens EVERY DAY for real. Many better players sitting pine (or not even getting on a team) because a coach is protecting the bust he recruited or where he has ties to the player's father... or even is getting paid by the father.
@@musume7723 Happens in baseball too. Look at the Reds class A minor league teams. Two first round picks, Austin Hendricks and Jay Allen, both batting just above .200 for years since being drafted. But they were top picks with huge signing bonuses so they get the opportunities over players who performed much better but weren't high draft picks. Others at their position batted 80-100 points higher, fielded better, but weren't top picks so they get released while these two keep getting moved up to higher levels. Why? Because the head of scouting and the GM have to protect their reps and jobs... can't acknowledge they picked poorly and wasted millions of $. They'll carry those players until they can move to jobs at another team, then the new management can cut their mistakes.
