What is a MOBA?
Multiplayer Online Battle Arenas, or MOBAs for short, originated as a sub-genre of the RTS (Real-Time Strategy) genre. Because of this, in most MOBA games, the player takes control of a single character from the isometric (top-down) view akin to most RTS games. Typically, in MOBA games, a player takes control of a single character on one of two teams. Those players choose characters that all have their own abilities, or “kits”. To win, the players must use a combination of abilities, teamwork, and strategy to not only best their opponent, but destroy the opponents main structures. A bonus to the genre is that most MOBAs are free games, which is definitely a contributing factor of the their massive success. The genre has many titles, the largest of which being Defense of the Ancients (DoTA) and DoTA 2, League of Legends (LoL), and most recently SMITE!
What is SMITE?
SMITE is one of the more recent free MOBA games to enter the fray. In SMITE you don’t just choose a character, you choose a god. You’ll instantly feel an attachment to characters like Thor and Zeus because even if you don’t know the lore behind them, you’ve at least heard their names before! What makes SMITE so immersive is Hi-Rez Studios’ inclusion of historical lore into the gods’ abilities, kits, and play styles. Thor and Loki aren’t just characters from Marvel comics and movies. They’re also a part of Norse mythology and you can take control of them in SMITE!
What makes SMITE different?
SMITE takes all of the strategy of the top MOBA games and adds another layer of difficulty by putting you into the action! Unlike most MOBA games, SMITE offers players the chance to experience the MOBA genre they know and love from a third-person perspective. This unique perspective allows for an extremely immersive experience unlike any other game in the genre. While this doesn’t sound like such a big change, once you play it you’ll understand! All of these things added together is what has gaming websites everywhere continually rating SMITE as one of the best MOBA games available!

Olenhol im getting poisoned star and frostbond with using his 1 (winter) and his 2. cant wait to see the enemy moonwalking.
I think that maybe be TOO much slow, that's 20% on star, 30% on frostbound, AND 15% on his passive, I think a 65% slow is way too muc xD

Danial3W I don't think poison star and frost bound slow stack. I know midgardian and frost bound don't.
Slows don't stack, whichever slow is the strongest will be applied and the others won't even matter

I love celtic stuff! I was fangirling really badly when I first heard they were adding celtic gods to Smite. The Morrigan was awesome, and Cernunnos looks really cool too! Thanks Hi-Rez!

I think next God will be Ganesh, the elephant god from the Hindhu Pantheon, but I hope that the next celtic god will be Arawn, the Ruler of Death, maybe as warrior

I quit playing Smite recently. Played it since the closed beta many years ago. Toxic community and broken gods made this game so frustrating. This doesn't help one bit. Recently started to play Overwatch. It's the complete opposite. Great balance, better community and overall much better gameplay.

They were curious what to do with Wind Demon so they made a god who literally has the wind demon (a glaive) as weapon xD

Hirez rule number 1: If too many gods become OP, Then add more op gods so that many people can play op gods. S it will balance itself out.

his kit seems to be very overloaded, only thing he doesnt have is a stun, but with 2 slows and polymorpth its about the same

Well, the skill cap is quite high, since you got to cycle through all the stances and know which one to use at each time.

Fun Fact: The Horned God is actually known as Pan, a Greek god also known as god of the wild. I'm guessing they didn't put him in the game because of the fact that he was basically a sex fiend and always had an erection in every picture/statue of him. (He was very friendly with the nymphs)

@@kevinnorwood8782 Yes, indeed. Cernunnos is associated with Beltane/May Day, for that day is said by many Wiccans (myself included) and other modern Pagans to be the annual wedding day between him and the Goddess.
@@TheaterRaven I know this is like... ages back, but to my knoledge Cernunnos's wedding is not actually well doccumented in celtic folk lore itself and is more a factor of modern wicca. I'm willing to be wrong, but as a celtic pagan who's been doing a LOT of research its getting really exausting trying to keep the historical celtic cernunnos seperate from stories told of the horned god in wicca
@@oneringtorulethemagicarp7199 I know that. I mentioned it in my above post, how Beltane is said "by many WICCANS" to be Cernunnos' wedding day. We obviously don't know when the Celts celebrated it, if at all. Very little is sadly known about the historical Cernunnos, and even less about how he was worshiped or where precisely he fit into the Celtic pantheon. The most that's known, as far as I'm aware (correct me if you've come across more), is that he was said to be a god of the wild, animals, fertility, etc.
@@TheaterRaven fair I just got a little confused because I kept hearing that assertion and I've been unsure if it was based on anything historical. and yeah, our understand of cernunnos in historical celtic myth is extremely limited, as its almost all speculative off of his artwork. we are pretty sure he's a god of the hunt, animals, wealth and prosperity, but wider nature and fertility are actually kind of shakey claims due to our lack of broader context. I personally beleive him to be the god of animals, wealth and hunting, as well as having links to the otherworld, general spirit work and nature. still, thanks for clearing things up, I know you made this post like, 3 years ago lol

Nope, it's Khazrak. Such beastmen skin would be much easier to make for Cernunnos. He could throw boomerangs and turn enemies into chaos spawns, razorgors or chaos hounds.
Actually yeah, the beastmen race is based upon fauns and satyrs.

That build is actually a legit one. They're getting better with their god reveals.
They most likely test them out before they release them to see what works best for the gods in question.
This is so exciting because I'm doing a report on Wicca right now and the almost back to back release of The Horned God and The Triple Goddess (Morrigan) is really exciting to me and makes me really happy so thanks devs.
