George of the Jungle is a 1997 American comedy film directed by Sam Weisman and based on Jay Ward and Bill Scott's 1967 American animated television series of the same name, which in turn is a spoof of the fictional character Tarzan, created by Edgar Rice Burroughs.
Written by Dana Olsen and Audrey Wells, and starring Brendan Fraser, Leslie Mann, Thomas Haden Church, Holland Taylor, Richard Roundtree, and John Cleese. It tells the story of a young man raised by wild animals who falls for an heiress and contends with the heiress's spoiled fiancé.
Definitely a very underrated film adaptation of a cartoon series and one of Brendan’s best comedy roles.
The Mummy was his best role in my opinion
"George, George, George of the jungle watch out for that tree"
Grew up with this movie. One of the movies that made me a Brendan Fraser fan. I would say it’s one of my favorite live-action Disney movies. I agree, the script is slightly above average. A Fun, innocent, entertaining movie.
One of the better live-action films based on a cartoon.
"Don't worry!Nobody dies in this movie! They just get really big boo-boos!"LOL!!!!!
Definitely one of my favorite live action based on tv show cartoon series, it was so underrated and nobody talking anymore, i just saw it on vhs back day, i might going picked up on dvd, i haven't watch been forever long time
The same year as Disney's Jungle 2 Jungle.
Childhood classic of mine
I really Like Thomas Haden Church he’s a Good Actor, very Charismatic & Talented, I Love Demon Knight, 3000 Miles To Graceland, Spider-Man 3 & 8, Killer Joe, John Carter, Max, Daddy’s Home 1, & Hellboy 2019 are my Favorites Of his
I really Like Brendan Fraser he’s a Good Actor very Charismatic & Talented, Not 1 of my Favorite Actors, But I Like Him, I Love The Mummy Trilogy, Crash 2004, Journey To The Center Of The Earth, G. I. Joe 2009, & Pawn Shop Chronicles are my Favorites & His Bests IMO
I saw that in the theater.
I Like School Ties & Looney Tunes: Back In Action are Ok but those are my Least favorites of Brendan Fraser
I Haven’t Either Of The George Of The Jungle Films Matt, But I’ll check out the 1st Film Cause I Quite Like Brendan Fraser, I’ll Skip the DTV Sequel Cause it Sounds Shitty, but Great Job Matt ❤
Hey Matt It’s a movie based on a cartoon that does it justice as a live action adaptation.
That can’t be said about the 2 disappointing Scooby Doo movies released to theaters with the second movie being an improvement because of certain aspects including real monsters used.
I Haven’t Seen A Lot Of Brendan Fraser’s Earlier Films Like George Of The Jungle, Bedazzled, & Dudley Do Right But I’ll Definitely Check Those Out 1 Day Matt
A classic for me.
I've always loved this movie! The sequel was okay!I've seen better and I've seen worse sequels!
