I’ve learned quite a lot in this lecture about Knowledge Management in Public Administration. Through this video, I’ve learned that KM is basically the process of analyzing information/data that was gathered and using it to make sound decisions. Also, I’ve gained an understanding of the 4 areas of KM and one of the areas in particular that caught my interest the most is the “Aid of the public to participate effectively in public decision making”. It’s astounding and at the same time crucial that through KM stakeholders of the policies and programs created by the government are able to participate when it comes to public decision making and also it is in their interest to make sure that the policies are truly beneficial and will resolve their problems. All organizations both public and private should take advantage of the usage of KM when it comes to policy and decision-making. Utilizing it should be the standard specially in public organizations to secure the optimal efficiency and effectiveness of the policy, programs, or processes implemented. Through the usage of Knowledge Management we can also expect the consistent development and growth in the organization and even in the society.

For me, as I also learned in one of our major classes, Public Personnel Management, being aligned with central objectives is essential. Everyone must be knowledgeable and prepared to work towards the vision presented by a government or private office. Being aligned with these objectives helps ensure that the vision becomes a reality, which is a sign of progress and improvement within the organization. During the first part of the lecture, I was able to learn the different areas of Public Administration’s knowledge management. One of professor Krippe's insights about the said areas is how it is imperative for the public to participate in decision making given those countries that are democratic, the people should be given the right amount of knowledge so that they can participate effectively which I strongly agree with. Another learning that I was able to pick up was how knowledge management can be utilize to sustain something significant like enterprises. Many would not give much of a thought about knowledge management when it comes to handling enterprises, however, one must understand that studying trends and factual datas are the bread and butter of not only enterprises but every institution that has goals and objectives in their organization. This further strengthens the argument that decision making should be based on factual evidence so that it addresses actual disparities in the society as well. Because of this, an established understanding of the importance of structured and evidence based delivery of public service should drive all institutions, especially public institutions when delivering service to the public.

I’ve learned quite a lot in this lecture about Knowledge Management in Public Administration. Through this video, I’ve learned that KM is basically the process of analyzing information/data that was gathered and using it to make sound decisions. Also, I’ve gained an understanding of the 4 areas of KM and one of the areas in particular that caught my interest the most is the “Aid of the public to participate effectively in public decision making”. It’s astounding and at the same time crucial that through KM stakeholders of the policies and programs created by the government are able to participate when it comes to public decision making and also it is in their interest to make sure that the policies are truly beneficial and will resolve their problems.
All organizations both public and private should take advantage of the usage of KM when it comes to policy and decision-making. Utilizing it should be the standard specially in public organizations to secure the optimal efficiency and effectiveness of the policy, programs, or processes implemented. Through the usage of Knowledge Management we can also expect the consistent development and growth in the organization and even in the society.

With KM, leaders are better equipped with the past and ongoing societal problems they must address and are now able to formulate possible solutions holistically. One of the Knowledge Management goals that I find significant is that it "must be fully aligned with the enterprise's central objectives." For me, as I also learned in one of our major classes, Public Personnel Management, being aligned with central objectives is essential. Everyone must be knowledgeable and prepared to work towards the vision presented by a government or private office. Being aligned with these objectives helps ensure that the vision becomes a reality, which is a sign of progress and improvement within the organization.
Additionally, I learned that through Knowledge Management, decision-makers are well-equipped because KM ensures they have access to proper and accurate information. This information is vital for making better decisions.
This lecture provided me better understanding about Knowledge Management and laid out clear impact and benefits from application of this concept in Public Administration. In this lesson, I've have learned that knowledge management principles and practices can improve efficiency, effectiveness, and responsiveness of public institutions. KM helps improving the policy development for formulating evidence-based (research/fact) policies, building of competitive societal information communication capabilities, and ultimately, helps developing knowledge competitive workforce. For example, KM improves decision-making by enabling agencies like the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) to leverage data from initiatives such as Open Data Philippines, allowing for more effective and informed resource allocation.

Data holds a significant role in today's world, quantifying objects to the information of a nation's citizen. It is currently one of the foundations of many things now that technology is a prevalent thing in our world, which is why, despite the fact that it's only been a few decades that it has ecisted, governments are slowly forming ways to safeguard it and use it for the improvement of their nations.
This subject elaborates its importance to us students and future government position holders, and how it must be managed properly, as technological advances are embraces much slower in the Philippines; such facts contributing to the struggles of our country when it comes to data managing and such, to the point that even the most basic data managing methods aren't prevalent here (I may personally attest to that)

During the first part of the lecture, I was able to learn the different areas of Public Administration’s knowledge management. One of professor Krippe's insights about the said areas is how it is imperative for the public to participate in decision making given those countries that are democratic, the people should be given the right amount of knowledge so that they can participate effectively which I strongly agree with. Another learning that I was able to pick up was how knowledge management can be utilize to sustain something significant like enterprises. Many would not give much of a thought about knowledge management when it comes to handling enterprises, however, one must understand that studying trends and factual datas are the bread and butter of not only enterprises but every institution that has goals and objectives in their organization. This further strengthens the argument that decision making should be based on factual evidence so that it addresses actual disparities in the society as well. Because of this, an established understanding of the importance of structured and evidence based delivery of public service should drive all institutions, especially public institutions when delivering service to the public.
I've learned that knowledge management is indeed an essential tool in the field of public administration by means of enchancing any decision-making needed to be accomplished that leads to the public servants' better and smarter choices for the public's interests. After watching the lesson video, three fundamental concepts came to mind. Firstly, as a student of public administration, we are expected to utilize knowledge more effectively and efficiently - in the word itself, 'knowledge management' - to effectively administer services to cater the needs of the public. Secondly, through knowledge management, leaders and institutions are able to enhance decision-making and implementing processes which is aligned to common good; a leader that knows how to manage knowledge well will not make detrimental decisions for the society. Lastly, in management of knowledge and data, information are digested more efficiently, leading to identification of potential risk, balancing of adequate solutions leaning to public interest, and processes that will better serve the citizens based on data and systematic approaches, whilst keeping up with progressing forms of governance overall.
What I learned to the lesson that our professor discussed that in a public service or in a government, Knowledge Management is very important to improve decision making in order to do a good decision and reduce some errors.
