Whenever you're cutting overhead, especially into wood with a jigsaw, have a helper stand behind you with a blower to send the wood chips flying away. Obviously it only works outside but it makes a huge difference in how miserable it is to cut those speaker holes into porch ceilings.
The amp that was used in this system is the Klipsch KDA-500. You can see the installation in this video ruclips.net/video/WSH472ySTCI/видео.html. We used the subwoofer out of a Sonos Amp in this system, but you can set this system up several different ways depending on the application.
Both of the subwoofers in this video are outdoor rated, as well as the AW-650 speakers that were installed in a previous video. Klipsch does not make outdoor rated architectural speakers. That being said, the speakers that were deteriorating were outdoor rated speakers. That goes to show that not all products are made equally, which is why we align ourself with companies like Klipsch that make superior products. It's hard to say how long the Designer series speakers will last, but I have been installing Klipsch architectural speakers in patio applications like this for several years and have yet to have any fail. I do prefer to install the AW, rock, or landscape speakers whenever possible as they are more versatile and can produce better bass as with any box speaker. Please call us at 972-905-0556 to discuss in further detail and place an order. We have nationwide free shipping!

Thank you for your feedback
Sounds great! Nice job. Can you please elaborate on the amp used, and connections; ideally with a video? Sub pre-amp required? Thanks. Jason

What happened to the sound after cleanup?
these sound good but aren't rated for outdoor use. how long do you think they'll hold up? Considering purchasing.
