P.S....
All the voice actors are mostly new or not that famous, the exception is the girls in the show.... Mina voice actor is Nobara (JJK) and you will also get a voice actor of Power (CSM) later.
P.S. the reason you getting naruto vibes is probably because the character designers for the anime is the same one as Naruto's, In fact. Kafka design (mainly his face) looks similar to Obito.
You know that the ending you just heard was from the band "One Republic - Nobody " and when i saw it i can't believe that they get a famous band for their Ending

Kafka is such an amazing MC. His charisma and positivity is so intoxicating. You guys are in for a treat with this series. Not to mention the pacing is perfect so you’ll never be bored

The thing which I love about this anime is it develops its side characters perfectly and give all of them a good storyline , in solo leveling it was all about sung jin woo side characters were heavily ignored

@@kurosakiichigo6467 there is a side story so i believe they will animate that, because it's obvious there is very few chapters on the Main story... so we will have to wait a lot of episode to see the Main story continue.
I love how the Mc is called Kafka referencing Franz Kafka who wrote a famous book called the metamorphosis.

@@imprlanass In the book by Kafka, the main character randomly becomes a giant cockroach and is essentially abandoned by his family. No reason is ever given for why he changed. It's a sad yet interesting story.

Having the Protagonist be significantly older than most shonen MC's instantly grabbed my attention. On top of the gorgeous animation.

Let’s be real, age of the characters only changes their circumstances and the plot setting, characters themselves don’t change much 🤷🏼♀️
Kafka is one of those super simple lovable characters who is serious at times but mostly keeps things light hearted. Mina was a scared kid who lost her cat and she upgraded to captain of the defense force with a big cannon so she's no longer defenseless and she's got a tiger which is just so cool. The serious should be giving you more attack in titan than Naruto vibes. And don't worry this series is not going to lack in action or impactful villians or stakes. It's a pretty picture of a society that is used to kaiju appearances but starting with Kafka lots of unexpected stuff happens. The animation didn't bother me, I like how vibrant it was and the sound design was awesome. I did notice ichikawa looked a little strange in the battle with the yoju and it makes me slightly worried for division 3 vice captain (strong Levi vibes) for his action animation but I'm gonna trust the process.
The kaiju movie I think you're thinking of is Pacific Rim with Idris Elba. Where they basically fight Kaijus/Godzilla type monsters in giant robots

Btw.... the studio that made this anime is IG PRODUCTION, the team members are similar to the ones that did Heavenly Delusion, PLUS.... IG PRO did technically help WIT studio make the first 2 and half seasons of AOT, so some scenes and sudden JOLT of action is reminiscent of AOT.
For example, the scene where the Yoju's jaw was gonna close down on the character's body, is similar to AOT for sure.
I’d like to think Kaijuu no.8 was slotted later due to the dubbing. They’re banking on it being the next globally watched/hyped (a la Demon Slayer, MHA etc.) anime franchise.
I mean Yungblud from the UK for the OP, OneRepublic for the ED is definitely a sign they’re putting effort into it being a success outside of Japan. The manga has outsold other big shounen outside of Japan as well.
The ending song is made by OneRepublic. You know.. they are popular. (song: Counting Star, Top Gun OST, etc)

fun fact: the mc and mina were childhood friends that swore when they grow up..., mc promises that they'll join defense Corps to protect their country against the threat of kaijus... mc will be thhe captain and mina will be the vice-captain but yeah... mc ended up to the cleaning crew and mina ended up to be the captain of the defense corps and.... yeah (mina ignoring him cause he lied, and easily gave up😅...)
The movie you guys are talking about in the beginning is called Pacific Rim btw, where a team of humans pilots the giant Kaiju-fighting robots called Jaegers.

I've been excited for this for a couple years. I started off with the manga. Getting to see it animated and differences. Super cool. Not to mention. Needing more kaiju stuff out there.

This will be a interesting one for sure! I'm a manga reader and the potential on this one is really big! It takes some of the best things from other anime and combines them into this unique and engaging story! It draws inspiration from shows such as AOT, Naruto, MHA, JJK and Chainsawman. Only problem is the mangaka has some issues with consistent manga output, so I reckon the anime will not release season after season in a short time. There might be long wait times between seasons.
This was a great first episode! I’ve been reading the manga and it’s great!
In terms of sub or dub, I’d suggest watching both the 1st and at most 3 episodes to figure out which you enjoy more, some series take more time to figure out more then others 🤗🤗

There is someone to look forward to when it comes to a intellectual antagonist but I will let the show speak for itself. There are some really hype moments I really can't wait to see animated, one of them is literally in the next episode. Been waiting a long time for this and it's finally here. 😌

He didnt transform or fusion with the Kaijuu... Its like a Symbiosis, Metamorphosis the two had, a CoEvolutionary Organism.. where Kafka was compatible with this. The Defense force do the same but in a artifiicial way... This is at celullar level, natural way 100%.

Not surprised people would have a sub bias. That or if you did watch dub half the comments would just be people complaining about it and how you should feel bad for enjoying it.

Try World trigger. I to this day still believe it has the most engaging combat of all shonen. you'll never know who will win the fight and even if you do. you'll never predict how that character will win. The author is so creative when it comes to fights. he's really using every bit of his braincells to come up with strategies.

i think it's maybe intended to not make it matter if you do dub or sub as some sort of creative decision, in the dub (which is actually fine) that came out on the same day not as an afterthought the guy who asks for a sample says arigato... but in the sub says thank you and the VA's and lip syncing is fine in both.
