Nonsense and double standard. When private sector companies, such as telco or bank, cause disruption of services, they are fined by PAP regulators. When LTA causes breakdown, it is part of maintaining reliability standards. Here we have another professor trying to get tenure and would say anything the PAP government wants him to say. There is AP Walter for that. SG doesn't need two PAP mouthpieces.
"Generalise the cause"? I dun hv the time to watch the video, so my comments are preliminary. Sad to say that this so-called Prof Raymond Ong, is just finding excuses of the most basic cause of failure of the EW line in particular affecting 2.5 million passenger trips. To me the CAUSE of this disruption was PREVENTABLE.
I understand there is a need to look at the larger picture. Is there a trend line across the years? Does it show we see more faults in recent years? And if its due to ageing, should we then look at some form of infrastructure overhaul like what we typically get advised to do by our car workshops? Is this in the plans already? If not why? I think this is wat ordinary folk like myself are asking the ministry to look at. Start planning and do something about it.
Didn’t watch the entire video. If the insinuation is there is generalisation by the public it is possible there is also deflection by those in charge. Are the causes attributable to preventable human errors? If yes, addressing them head on would be a good way forward
Stop giving excuses to yourself. Not like companies and govt agencies like yours are giving employees any leeway in career growth and balanced lifestyle with fair pay as well.

Tell me you are working for a certain political party without saying you working for a certain political party.
Do you take public transport? If not who are you to comment if it has caused inconvenience to others?
Rise in major breakdowns but MRT gets more reliable

Not enough redundancy and “under maintenance” cause those faults. Why should we look at the wider picture when these factors exist?
His explanation is driving the commuters mad.
