I am just denying the exagaration you people put that even after the laws are made you still feel the need to bring the past back. The past is the past and it should stay the past. And more than half of the rape cases are fake and even the reported ones at that. It means that a few girls might have convinced the law that a man raped her. Even when he didn't. Cause the law thinks that women always speak the truth. I never support biased laws. Thise words secular, democratic. Always feel sweet when we hear them. But where is the practical proof of that. India is never secular or democratic due to these blunders under the name "laws".
I think usne jo kaha wo isliye kaha kyuki pehle sab male domination pe chalta tha ... so women ko koi itna poochta nhi hoga .. they were depended on men, shayad isliye. but now it's not the same.
It reminded me of something someone said to me about her daughter. Her daughter is a hardcore vegetarian. Her mom said her being vegetarian or non-vegetarian depends on her future husband. She can't decide for herself. I said aunty marriage won't mean he bought her body and owns her.
It's not about male domination and all that. According to the hindu scriptures, a women's body isn't appropriate to be a part of dharma or jati, Only men can, because a men can produce seed ( spermatogenesis) the seed of life in his body... Maybe that makes him fit to be a Dharma Yogi or smthing_. Idk the exact meaning of that I heard that in a session of Sadhguru, he explained it well,.. Connaught Place is not "modern" and "high class" in terms of mentality of people. People from all over Delhi (and maybe other states) go there, mainly to hang out and buy cheap stuff. So, that place of Connaught Place can't be said to have a particular mindset, they have polarising views. But yeah, Delhi in general isn't as open minded as many people think it is. But still, its cool and things are changing.
When i was 12, anyone who acted like a girl was bullied so much in my school ki "gay hai ye,chakka hai, etc" and i used to support it. 2 years later i educated myself "courtesy tiktok" and i feel so bad about my past self. We indians are raised in such an environment that being gay is equal to a crime. Plus, our education system is failing us so bad! Even now if someone will come up to me and say "I'm gay" i will be reluctant for a second. Even when i dont want to be. Its just how i was raised. Even tho i want to change, its hard.
I get you bro, the situation in most Indian schools is like this only. I was bullied by a 'friend' who called me lesbian and asked others to do the same. It did generate negative feelings towards LGBT community in me, but I continued to educate myself, taught myself to question my biases from what I've been taught and I am proud to support LGBTQIA+ community. If you keep questioning internalised homophobia, you can get over it.
I am a part of the LGBTQ community and I am sure you will get over it. Thanks for trying to change, I wish more people tried to do that and throw away their close mindset
There are like millions of articles on normalising same sex relationships and if still these people choose to not accept it then there's no use of wasting time in 'educating them'
I agree. Just because technology has become more normalized in India doesn't mean people have started to use it to his full potential. Like, I grew up in a middle class family and only knew that people could be gay. I never knew terms and people like transgender people, bisexuals, etc etc existed, until I got to use websites like Reddit.
Nope! When you reach a certain age it's your responsibility to unlearn the wrong, society taught us and try and be better. Moreover you can only teach someone who has an open mind and wants to learn.
I had many friends who are homophobic, even misogynistic and I've tried my best to make them understand, they still stuck to their opinion. If someone genuinely wants to understand they will or we have no other choice than to hate these people because of the wrong beliefs they carry.
I don't find anything wrong in what he said because he is only talking about what he wants to do. He never said he wants others to do the same. There is nothing wrong if he doesn't wish to marry a girl of other caste, that's totally his choice. He never said others should not do it too. In my opinion he can choose what he wants to do and whom he wants to marry in life. Same with Live in, he only said he doesn't want to be in live in relationship. He never forced his opinion on others. Letting others make decisions in life is the basic concept of liberalism. If you can't even respect other's choices why the hell do you even preach it?

I agree. Just because technology has become more normalized in India doesn't mean people have started to use it to his full potential. South is almost similar
@akshay Viswambharan I never said South is progressive in that manner. I said South HAS shit tons of homophobes too.
@akshay Viswambharan Casteism is also very much prevalent in Kerala as well, but due to political reasons and large Muslim population, it may seem like everyone is on the same leftist side, when in reality they'd be divided in a single clash.
I felt so good seeing women are more open minded and accepting.
Tgeir open mindedneee is useless

I'm happy that even in India, even in a little village we are well aware and me and all my cousins support it.
You are really lucky
These is one thing I have noticed, lately, people from small towns and villages are actually more liberal in their views than in big cities, quite contrary to the common perception.
@@garimakilledar5810 Yup, I'm from a bisexual from a small city in Harayana and all of my friends are quite accepting of me.

As an middle class student I would like to say that it is true that genz is more homophobic and misogynistic and more radically conservative then millennials and genx this is based upon true conversation I had with my classmates

Yes you are right , our generation is extremely hateful
In the name of "dark humour" they just straight up dismiss and make fun of people's feelings and opinions if it goes even a little bit against their own personal beliefs
They think it's edgy and cool to hate on people for simply existing
It's scary how we're not progressing much rather degenerating in terms of social growth and acceptance
Same views, my classmates are so against the whole thing, not only against queer but stark aggressive hate towards muslims. It absolutely terrifies me.
I feel bad for my younger gen
Edit: and scared.
Don't make opinions just by listening to these people....

Leave India if u want to live a happy gay life...
U can go to Canada, swedain etc...
The problem is with the younger kids who can't. They are stuck in this toxic environment

Our teacher once asked in class... That who supported the LGBTQ community. Only two to three hands were raised(including me) out of the class of 47 students... That is just very disheartening!!
sad! india should be more accepting. good on you for being supportive!
A lot more probably supported but were too scared to raise their hands in fear of being judged.

I think young India exists outside of New Delhi as well !! Would be great if we could get to see what the real young India living in Gwalior, Coimbatore, Kozhikode, Jamshedpur or Surat have to say.
