    Im a native born New Yorker from the Bronx . Unfortunately i haven't been to the hometown city in a long time . Although that said? My heart is still in the city. . Last time i was in the city area was 2005 i was in 2005. It was Yonkers for my late Nonna passing on my late fathers side. Im a 66 y.o guy with rich find memories from my early years of the city. I hope to one day before i pass ? I get the opportunity to revisit the city and stroll through some of the areas there in the city. The Bronx and Yonkers. In close i know the city has undergone some say? Challenging times to put it mildly. I wish for many there snd us natives no longer there ? That a real focus had been made to truly preserve the good that has been there in the city. I know there is still some beauty and good folks there ? But like the rest of our country things and times have changed. Thanks a million for sharing this train ride on the line here. Ciao.

    My old line. How I miss taking the train to the city! In the summer of 1976, this line got me back and forth, to and from Midtown Manhattan every weekday. I earned enough money to buy a stereo with very large speakers I shlepped back home on the train. Thank you Korvettes on 5th Ave.! I took this train line to see Queen in 1977 and 1978, Kiss, The Grateful Dead and The Who.Yes, Styx and The Moody Blues. All at MSG! I was a lucky teenager. Thanks to all the hard working people who transported us safely! I always felt safe.

    I took the MTA Assistant Conductor trainee exam recently. The signals they had on the exam don't match field at all. Only one was the working limits stop sign at NWP.

    UK here. Good stuff, thank you. Not many signals out there - I take it signalling is in-cab?

    • @cActUsjUiCe92
      @cActUsjUiCe92 2 года назад +1

      Yes, only wayside signals at places where you'll switch tracks or where there's a movable bridge.

      The in-cab signaling system has been in use for decades on MNRR; the latest change has been the inclusion of the Siemens ACSES II PTC system. You can see the transponders in the gage throughout this video - typically three in a row. They're the yellow squares that update the trains onboard computer with speed restrictions, distance to absolute stop signals, work zone restrictions, etc.

    That's the Bronxville Station at 23:29. I grew up walking distance from there in the 1950's and 1960's. There used to be a taxi cab company there with all black Cadillacs lined up on the west side of the station. Lawrence Hospital is right here...

      Maybe, though whichever way it does not seem to be wise to either trespass, or be an employee not wearing a high visibility vest, right next to an active train line (perhaps they have a reason); not you.
