The most important thing for me was if the receiving end was the same, thanks for the video you answered my question. I purchased one from ebay for $2 US dollars probably fake but it does the job so I'm happy.
How about the 701? Also, MY 771 antennas have silver printing. Are they both fake? They came in authentic Nagoya packaging that passes all of Nagoyas tests.
THE REASON THEY BOTH SOUND THE SAME IS BECAUSE THEY ARE BOTH FAKE!!! The one you claimed to be authentic has only one stripe going through the "A"s in "NAGOYA". The real ones have multiple.
So BOTh my 771 antennas have silver printing and are identical in every way except one of them has a little longer of an outer sleeve. They both are flexible and snap back into a straight shape. Mine also seem genuine...or fake. Did Nagoya change the print from blue to silver? Because around the same time I got a short 701 and it has blue print.
good for you my dear. I have bought a counterfeit in local market, for something about 10 uS$ and it has worked worse than the original baofeng antenna. The appearance was quite similar, but the outcome miserable. regards PY2 FI Fábio - Brazil.
I thought that I had bought a genuine Nagoya until the print easily rubbed off. I can only compare it to the baufong rubber antenna but I can't tell a great difference between them but I guess if I had a genuine Nagoya I would.
Idk what happened but I was transmitting for a long time with this antenna and my radio got so hot the screen was fading and the radio was super hot! I took it off and used my rubber ducky.
Can you explain this.... I bought a 108CM Antenna! YES 108Cm!!! But..... my Nagoya 771 seems to work better? Even if I hold this ridiculously long antenna outside the window which basically goes past my roof, don’t pickup the frequency I always get. But there’s a catch. It does pickup the signal in a different spot. So say I’m at one end of the balcony it will pickup on the 108cm. But where I pick it up with the Nagoya it don’t all all??? So I guess I proved longer isn’t better? Also it seems that if I fold the antenna down so it’s in its smallest form. It receives better lol? I don’t get it I JUST want the BEST antenna for receiving on uv5r Don’t care about transmit as I don’t have license only use to listen. What’s the BEST radio and antenna for longest distance receiving signals? WANT HANDHELD Portable radio and antenna. Apart from that I don’t care how long the antenna is >:D as long as it’s portable as in I can attach and detach to my radio. Idk if radios make difference in signal but I have uv5r
Wolf Reviewing It could be that the Nagoya’s characteristic impedance is matched better than your 108cm long wire. Also the Nagoya could have a better receive RF pattern and better a ground plane connection. Keep in mind that the UV-5R does not have a very sensitive receiver too. You’re going to have better luck with an icom or yeasu.
Also depends on if you want to have a directional or non directional(omnidirectional) antenna. Meaning do you want to point your antenna or not have to point it when you are receiving. A directional antenna is going to give you better gain and more sensitivity. There are probably some portable yagi antennas that fold up or something.
MostElectronics I have an abbree 108cm antenna from AliExpress but it’s no fake abbree it’s from their store so I’m not sure why it wouldn’t be good but idk l. It does pickup the same frequencies as my Nagoya but in a different spot in the house lol or hight
Hi sir, I recently bought the Nagoya NA -771 144/430Mhz antenna & suspect it maybe to be a counterfeit one after viewing your video. But the packaging looks very genuine with QR code & links to it's website, the price seems about right at USD$10. If it handles the signals as an authentic one does then, but I still prefer the real McCoy instead.
I got mine from "baofeng tech",( u know, the one who always denies the authenticity of any baofeng radios from any other American distributer, and says he has the "authentic nagoya"), but theres a gap when I screw it on all the way,( it came with a rubber washer to make it fit better, but it doesnt fill the gap, it even makes the gap worse), and the taper even looks different than urs, which makes me pretty mad, I paid $16 and some odd cents,( before tax and shipping). I gave them the benefit of the doubt as far as claiming to "be the only real distributer", but now that theyve gave me what I feel may be a crap anyenna, Im pretty mad. they do put out a good manual, and they have some good stuff online for programing, so I though I could at least trust their products, even though i didnt like their marketing techniques and them putting down other guys, but I bought a (knockoff of the nagoya 701), radioddity 701, bc I couldnt afford a real one at the time bc I was getting a few other things, and it seems to do every bit as goid as the so-called nagoya 771, it even seems to be a little better on transmit sometimes, which really ticks me off, Im just gonna buy cheapos from now on, ill be able to buy 4-5 of them, for the price of one nagoya,( that may not even be a nagoya), and atleast the cheapos are not a fake name brand trying to be something theyre not. I dont mind paying more for quality, but when i pay more, I expect better than this. Baofeng tech just list the business of me, my family, and my friends,( I got everyone into radios, so the antenna screw over is gonna cost them thousands before its over), I wouldve spent $500-$600 just on christmas from them, not just on HTs, but alot of other accesories and a couple of mobiles as christmas gifts, plus what Ill buy for myself, Im glad I found out now, and Ill be using the other company thats based in TX, great prices, warrantees, good return policies, and no con-jobs. Thanks for posting, its gonna save me money, and hopefully it will save some for a few others too, 73s
Not much too a 2m hand held antenna even for base antenna's 2m has to be the easiest antenna for home brew as well. Generally the less you coil up the antenna and the less you use capacitors to make up length the better the antenna is going to function. A good knockoff should work as well as the original. The problem is more often than not knockoff's only mimic a good design they take short cuts. I doubt their is much to be gained though cutting corners on a 2m antenna.
You are comparing a fake vs a fake. The fakes have blue lettering, the real ones have white lettering. Also, the fakes have nickel (silver) connectors, the real ones have gold plated.
They all come from China made in the same factory. Unless you experts can test the electrical properties of the antenna there is no way that you can know what you are talking about...LOL
shit antenna and good antenna listen easily a finely tuned antenna gets out and clearly from my experience have a buddy listen to your broadcast if you cant look at your swr 2 cents opinion maybe not a pro
These are BOTH fakes. The genuine Nagoya 771 looks like this (link / description is from Nagoya, the manufacturers). It has silver print and a QR code on the base and the total length is 39 centimetres. www.nagoya.com.tw/en/2-2277-66883/product/NA-771-id384799.html
Hate to break it to you, mate, but they're both fake. Probably made in the same factory by the same people using the same materials. Real Nagoyas have silver letters and a barcode. They also come in green packaging with BTech printed on them. The new 24J models have brass connectors and are made from titanium. Retevis antennas come unmarked, but are made from master antennas that are meticulously copied. Master antennas are tested on sophisticated equipment, then subsequent ones are made matching the masters. The RHD-771 antennas are very well made and I love them. Antenna tests should include range tests, but few reviewers want to do them because of the time. Retevis warns against testing antennas with fifty-dollar testers ordered online. Many times, the antennas' proximity to the testing equipment negate the tests because they can't measure ground plane adequately, even with ground plane plates that are included with the testing equipment. Such plates not only were expensive to make, they simply didn't work. I'd love to see some range tests, though. ..
it's not rocket science to make one - I can't see what would make a genuine one perform any better than a fake if they've copied it accurately. The can copy a Rolex, so I'm pretty sure they can copy a length of bendy wire.
Authentic is Original ! I gave up after you mentioned that lol
Sorry but like others say, they are both fake. You should call amazon and request a refund
You sir have no idea what you are talking about..
You're holding 2 knockoffs
The most important thing for me was if the receiving end was the same, thanks for the video you answered my question. I purchased one from ebay for $2 US dollars probably fake but it does the job so I'm happy.
Authentic or original? Wtf?
hehehe
Vs genuine.
How about the 701? Also, MY 771 antennas have silver printing. Are they both fake? They came in authentic Nagoya packaging that passes all of Nagoyas tests.
Why my Baofeng uv5r gives me barely half a mile in the city???
Even with the na771 still barely works. It is because of the city or is the radio???
THE REASON THEY BOTH SOUND THE SAME IS BECAUSE THEY ARE BOTH FAKE!!! The one you claimed to be authentic has only one stripe going through the "A"s in "NAGOYA". The real ones have multiple.
Do they sound the same when you knock them on the desk? 😅

Mine also seem genuine...or fake. Did Nagoya change the print from blue to silver? Because around the same time I got a short 701 and it has blue print.
Is this antenna valid for 446 freq?
FYI,they both fake..nagoya only used silver not blue
Not true, they did use blue.

if it works as it should thats all that matters
Idk what happened but I was transmitting for a long time with this antenna and my radio got so hot the screen was fading and the radio was super hot! I took it off and used my rubber ducky.
The specs of the antenna are not right and it is overloading your radio.
I would only use it for scanning not TX
aren't they SMA female not SMA male?
Sorry they are SMA Female
they sell them in sma female and in sma male connectors, your choice.
A genuine 771 will have white printing. It will also have a small inverted triangle inside the first letter "A" in NAGOYA. Anything else is fake.
This whole comparison video is totally subjective, please use scientific meassurement equipement to show the difference in receiving etc.
amazon has them are they real? i just ordered one...
both of those antennas are knock offs...
Fake or not. My dragons stand up listen better. It's a improvement. Even got a real one . Could not tell difference. Good video tks.

If it’s blue, it’s fake. Both are fake. And I’m not even going to mention the real meaning of authentic...
Fake or Original, if they both function well then its fine with me.

as long as performance is the same
I have a knock off on my baofeng. Even so it’s much better than the original rubber duckie that came with it. I’m going to order a real one and see.

Laughed my fucking ass when I heard about authentic and original
Guess I won't know till you get a REAL one
Unfortunately, more than 50% of the Nagoya antennas on the market are counterfeit, as is the case with BOTH of yours.
warning!
DH-771 antenna is fake
this antenna only works for 1.1Ghz-1.7Ghz
Both fakes!
that two antennas are fake
They all come from China made in the same factory. Unless you experts can test the electrical properties of the antenna there is no way that you can know what you are talking about...LOL
if i understand it right: DONT USE A RUBBER DUCK!! - LOL!!!

..
I should do an S11 using my nano VNA I have
I too bought one and is fake with a orange package. Not sure why people do that to others. pure trash
I have two fakes. One has good performance, the other is garbage!! I think it's the luck of the draw as to what you get.
Both are fakes.. the Genuine has a matte finish and the base is longer, Plus the lettering is silver... You got duped Just like me.
it's not rocket science to make one - I can't see what would make a genuine one perform any better than a fake if they've copied it accurately. The can copy a Rolex, so I'm pretty sure they can copy a length of bendy wire.
Lol a knock off Rolex really isn't a good analogy unless you're just in it for the logo my friend.
Sorry to say but both are FAKES..😆
You should take Amazon to court for blatantly trying to sell you an authentic antenna.
sigh
Boot are fake antenas
thay are both fake lol
BOTH FAKE
