When you can do something about it, why worry? If you can't do something about it, why worry? That's what this piece of music feels like. Time goes on, just go with it and do what you can.

Thats right. Im interesting, how long can the eu resist the peace in in Spain France Germany and Italy. In the last times of thousand years, I’m glad to see the biggest genocide in mankind history. Greetings from Poland.😘. If saw wind you earn storm. The hyenas of Europe. Let’s see how you handle this.
This is the soundtrack of a old king who has dedicated his entire life to his people, standing on a balcony, overlooking the kingdom. Older now, but remembering all of the wars and all of the politics and all of the struggle it took to advance his people. Perhaps he's thinking about his legacy, but above all, he's thinking about ensuring his people live on eternally.
I play this beautiful game since 2013 (when i had 11 years) when my mom bought it to me. It is and still will be, one of my most favorite games of all time. Hundreds of hours on this game, and it was always worth it. If i should say something about this glorious song, its this: My empire always moving forwards, while some of my newest cities just start to build their first monuments, other ones start building skyscrapers and nuclear power plants. Centuries after centuries, buildings after buildings, wars after wars but my empire...still stands. It survived sieges, artillery strikes, plane strikes and nuclear bombs..but still it never fell. My empire changed politically, but its culture, history and religion..never change. And not just that, it can become dominant culture.
The sweetest track ever of this game. Always wells tears . Best of the best. Cellos are the boss with this Classic. Heaven made .And the piccy is true too. There where giants.
As Time passes, great civilizations rise and fall. In the middle of History being made, you find yourself. You look at all you've done for your people. All the love you gave them. You stare for a long moment at your burning city. Your Last city. You hear the cries of your People in the desolated streets. You hear the gunshots resonating in the walls. You see your courageous men fall in the front line. You see, further in the distance, several ballistic missiles coming towards you. For your last second spent reigning on this land, you wonder if future generations will remember you and your brave Nation. You close your eyes, and you get vaporized. You have not stand the test of Time.
I imagine a wise captain, loyal towards his crew and his graceful ship. In the past set their sails towards golden horizons conquered stormy pitch black nights with their goal in mind to enter a land being their new home to settle down and finally rest and find peace. But keeping their hearts filled with the will to explore and that there's always a place that hides something new
I was replaying civ 5, and after spending along time taking a city, this song played as my troops entered the city, I could imagine that, after losing thousands of there comrades, that my troops were sacking the city, as was the custom back then, and for a few moments, I felt sympathy, for a computer city, just because the music was that good.
I just can't shake it off how much it reminded me of Mass effect Soundtrack "Leaving Earth". I heard this song first though and even then it just made me think of space battle. It is so dreadful at the beginning, sad and tense but grows to be hopeful in the end. Quest for Peace is exactly what the title should be.
I think the CIV V Soundtrack influences how we play. Many times I got sad for attacking a country or inspired to wage war on someone because of the songs, it's truly amazing.
This always plays before the AI will declare war on me, so I listen to the song and buy a lot of landsknechts to boost my army stats, and move my scouts near their forces
This song in my head = Dark ages, viking era, cold north, iceland, aurora borealis, viking longboats in harbor, snow covered pine forest, gyrfalcon flying over fjords, lone wolf howling under full moon....
This track makes me think about 1453. Konstantios XI, the last Roman Emperor dying fighting for his city even though he knows it's the end after hundreds and hundreds of years of decline from the highest possible highs.
@@nikolaidotsenko1718 Most of them are secular though. There are plenty of good folks left. Like the soviet union once this phase is over the strongest of faith will be the ones remaining.
I don't understand. What's the problem with people not believing exactly what you believe? Nobody's trying to prevent Christians from being Christians. What's more, Christianity is still the religion with the most followers, by far. Why is "live and let live" such a bad policy, in your eyes?
I did it once nuked a AI player. Three of his cites were left on an island. I leveled the whole Island, and after I did so this piece of music set in. I felt terribly guilt, so much so that I loaded a save game from a round before, and brought them with conventinal weapons to a defeat. - I never used nukes before that, and I never used them since.
Finally! Took me forever to find this song
Peter Gorman Same ! I went trhough the entire music folder to finally find the one I was looking for : This one.
For me, it was only half an hour but totally worth it.

6 years later and i am also spent an hour looking for this song.

This is my favorite track in the whole game, Just a great track it makes me feel.... well inspired....
My favorite also, togehter with: Civilization V music - Africa/Middle East - The Senses Awaken A.
This song has a very soothing feel to it when I'm stressed out.
Check out Boards of Canada :) or Hans Zimmer's stuff.
I'm 6 years late, but another great artist that you can check is Vangelis

You can actually find it on youtube: it's basically the same track, with added drums :p

At least I'm not alone... Great tune to discover the world beyond the horizon.
Hanz Zimmer would approve.
This is a sad one, especially when you just laid waste to a city... With the screams of terror of the population it has a really dramatic effect ...
Thats the price to pay if you want world peace.

Whenever this track starts in lategame I am getting hyped as fuck
It is so cool this one
I think that the giant in the painting is supposed to be Τάλως (Talos). The bronze automaton guarding Europa at the island of Crete.
Reminds me of when I held out against two industrial-era armies with nothing but musketmen, pikemen, and cannon for a few hours.
May God help Europe in this time of darkness. This song really makes me understand how much Europe has gone through.
Amen to that. We're gonna need him and His law back in our hearts.

Whats that music instrument that starts at 0.58? Has a sharp/high pitched sound, always hear it at maritime themed songs.
it almost sounds like an Oud or a lyre but im not sure tbh, take what I say with a grain of salt
Böyle müzik dinleyen türk bulmak ne güzel
Sounds like a bell to me.
Sounds like fine metal strings ordered in a tight manner next to one another and while vibrating shortly touching each other.
Instrument at 2:00?
Hope Europe can recover from this Corona virus. Also hoping the best for Italy.

what happend to the Quest for Peace a?
This song reminds me Bismarck

Does anyone know who composed this piece?
Neil B according to wikipedia, they say that the game's ost is by Geoff Knorr and Michael Curran... I guess this one as well.
Lorne Balfe.
