I have not tested the v3 using a 40T. But using the including 26650 battery it can run the turbo for 2min 5sec before stepping down. The step down is not too much and hardly noticeable with our bare eyes. The termal control on this is better than the EC03 thus making this run the turbo longer than the EC03. But ofcourse brightness wise the ec03 wins. But for overall general usage, because of the size of the v3 it is better for longer time of use.
@@LumenVaultReviews Thanks for replying,if you might be able to try out the Samsung 40T 21700 battery with Sofrin sp33 v33 v3.0 turbo mode and the duration I hope you will write this:)
I own the sp33v2 &v3. Simply, the v2 is a good white color with a little more focus which makes me like it better than the 3. They are both floods but all of my sofrin lights leave me wanting better. b/c of the color & b/c as i hold the light w/ my arm down, pointing the way as i walk, the light isn't as smeared w/ the 2 as all the other sofrins i've owned. My v2 seems as strong as the 3 but w/ experimentation, I can see the 3 puts out a little more light. If it were white, I'd really like it. My v2 is my fav Sofirn so far.
That is very true. Also the user interface of the V3 has now more options BUT they still managed to keep the simplicity of the UI even if they have changed so many things on the flashlight. A real. powerhouse flashlight. I always recommend this light for beginners because of the UI and overwhelming performance that will make them want more. 💯
@@LumenVaultReviews I like the ramping on the 3 b/c you can get the very bright w/o going to full turbo which is usually too hard on the btry. BY THE BY: The shockly 26650 black is a 30amp btry THAT MAKES THIS LIGHT a little BRIGHTER & WHITER. Strangely, my v2 was sent w/ a smaller 21700!? Yours kindly for the given thanks.
Thanks bro I prefer the Sp33 v3 too. The compact size, easy UI, preinstalled bezel, good throw and flood. Thats where the sp33 v3 wins. On the other hand c8f is good but needs to be updated and upgraded.
They are both 3500 lumens. However the size of the sp33 v3 is more convenient to bring. It also has a type-C charging port. The controls are more easy on the v3 too.. and base on testsnsp33 v3 throws a little farther while c8f is a bit more floody.
That is so true. Thats why base on ky knowledge sofirn.com know offers a high drain plb battery for this. And its quite good. You cant go wrong with the 40T and 30Q 😬
@@LumenVaultReviews Just an update. My 40t ran out of gas at the end of my graveyard shift. So when I went home to switch the included Sofrin batteries, the entire flashlight got pretty hot within 2 mins. Wow! What a difference. I didn't experience any heat with the 40T.
Yes, the stock sofirn battery is what i used on this video. I orderes an HD version of their 26650 and i think the output is 200 to 300 lumens brighter using high drains.
Good question. This flashlight is excellent on that matter. Just tested it when I read your comment. It steps down slowly. It just started to step down at 3:00 minutes. Pretty great performance. It got hot and still tolerable up to 2:45.
Got some other trials which it stepped down at 3:45, given that the flashlight was turned on directly to turbo from off-state, and that it has not been turned on prior to accessing the turbo. The fastest step down i recorded was at 2:30 but it is indeed already a great long 2:30 runtime for turbo. Not easy to find another flashlight that can stay on 3500 lumens longer than that with respect to its size.
It depends on your preference, if you are more of a person who does not want a flashlight that heats to fast, and you like a beam tint that is comfortable with your eyes and also simplicity wise, choose sp33 v3. But if you like a more easy to hold flashlight you go for the ec01. Also its UI is customizable. For some sp33v3 is good because it can run on turbo for more than 2 mins before it steps down. Some trials i made it reached almost 3 mins before stepping down. On a real life basis i can tell that there is not much difference on the throw, i say v3 can throw about 10 to 15 meters more than the ec01. Ec01 is a white light that might be a factor why it appears brighter for some applications. In summary sp33 wins in most category, ec01 wins on which is easier to carry. I carry both lights as an edc 😊
Factors like situations also matter, one example is if you are to leave a flashlight among the two, ec01 and v3 at your house with your daddy that is not aware of powerful lights, i would choose the sp33v3 as it is much easier to navigate and also good heat handler. Ec01 on the other hand might cause some bothereness if the user felt the quick temperature increase of the flashlight.
Very good review! Detailed information, good supporting music. Compliments!
... and that SP33V3 is a very good light indeed.
Thank you so much Carel, much appreciated comment from a wise flashaholic like you. Yes it is indeed a great light. 💯

Nice review,, after watching I've decided to buy sp33 v3, been deciding between this and c8f

I like your comparisons!

Which is the most powerful, cf8 or sp33 v3.0?

Very good review!
Thank you my friend 💯
does sp33 v3 have a blinker mode while in lowlight to use for a bike.
This flashlight can reach 4,000 lumens with a Samsung 40 T 21700. I tried it and it is way brighter than the regular sofirn batteries it comes with.

Thank you for great comparison video. I have to say though, shining bright flashlight into oncoming traffic at night.....not cool.
Dont worry bro i make sure there is no coming vehicle and i point it upwards. 🙂 I have limited location so far because of the pandemic.
maybe ec01 better ?

Thank you. 😊
how it can possibly be 3500 lumens if Max Light Output of Cree XHP5.2 is 2654 lm?
www.cree.com/led-components/products/xlamp-leds-arrays/xlamp-xhp50-2
Denis Danilenko i am not sure but i heard its because of fet driver it can boost lumen output.
