PLEASE react to "Five to One" by them. the studio version tho. one of the hardest Doors songs frfr. ya'll gon love that one. Kanye sampled that in a song for Jay Z on his Blueprint album.❤️🔥❤️🔥
@@discus1713 Yeah, that Hollywood Bowl performance is cool too because they do it as a medley with "Backdoor Man," so you get a little mash-up of two Doors songs.
This song, along with "Love me Two Times" by he Doors, have to be two of the greatest driving songs of all time. Some other great Doors songs to react to that are just a little off the beaten path, but still awesome: "The End," "When the Music's Over ," "Waiting for the Sun," "Hello, I Love You."
It's like a up tempo blues song...piano, harmonica. When I got up this morning and I got myself a beer, the futures uncertain and the end is always near, yeah you was spot on, he did live life to the max and died aged 27. He joined the 27 club along with janis joplin, hendrix, Amy whinehouse etc, there's a bunch of them.
Really I didn't know that until now that's really cool. And Elvis's bass player I forget his name he's the one that filled in on the bass guitar for LA Woman and probably this song too.
I love your interpretation of👇 "Well, I woke up this mornin' And I got myself a beer The future's uncertain And the end is always near" Very cool that for you it meant "its 5 O'clock somewhere". I like that! Alan Jackson sings that song with Jimmy Buffet. The video is 🔥! You might wanna add that one to the list. Excellent reaction Rico & Crys. Keep going down The Doors rabbit 🕳 hole & you'll continue to see why they are such an iconic band. 👏 I'm so happy you are liking them so much!
Jennifer, Music to my ears when Recklezz said " Im begining to like The Doors". :) He still hasnt heard the other songs on the first album and all the other great hits. Also curious as to what he would think of the more bizzare songs like THE END, WHEN THE MUSICS OVER and THE SOFT PARADE.
@@ErikD71 Hey Erik!! The Doors are such an amazing rabbit 🕳 hole! "People Are Strange", "L.A. @@jennhurl Hi Again ! :) I have all their studio albums and many of their concerts, and yes They are a rabbit Hole. I am so excited and cant wait to see more Doors reactions on this channel, and also Supertramp as well :)
Ray Manzarek on the keys imo the best in rock music. Other than the vocals, the keys are the foundation of most Doors songs. He was a musical genius capable in most any genre including classical.
'Break on Through', 'Love Her Madly', 'Hello I Love You', 'WASP(Texas Radio...)', 'Alabama Song', 'Crystal Ship', '20th Century Fox', 'L.A. Woman'. Throw a dart at a Doors playlist, can hardly miss.
A Line dancing song... ???? What in the ass? This is pure blues/rock - Jim would be turning in his grave if he thought his music was being used to line dance to.
Yeah, the ropers and shit-kickers would be stumbling around a bit trying to dance in unison to this, unless they were talking about doing lines in between dancing. In that case I think they'd find a way.
I have to say I saw The Doors live in concert at Kiel Auditorium in St. Louis in 1968! It was one of the best concerts I have ever seen. The place was packed and Jim Morrison literally had the whole crowd mesmerized. It was spooky awesome if you know what I mean!
If y'all get the chance check out Oliver Stone's moveie "the Doors". Though it may not be accurate historically (or just one interpretation of history) it does paint a very good picture of the vibe of the time. What was happening both musically and culturally in the late 1960s.
idk anything about what people line dance to (never done it, never been around it) but the sound of this Doors song, "Roadhouse Blues," is closest to the blistering, uptempo, electric blues of guitarists like Albert Collins, Albert King, Freddie King, and Stevie Ray Vaughan, as well as the rough-edged blues of singer Lou Ann Barton. The man killing the keys on this track is Doors keyboardist, Ray Manzarek, who grew up on the southside of Chicago and was a big fan of Chicago blues music. And, although the Doors didn't actually have a bass player (Ray usually handled the basslines on the keyboards), the bass on this track is being played by the influential blues-rock guitarist and “blue-eyed soul” singer Lonnie Mack. I wasn't born until after Jim Morrison passed but, as a teen, I loved the Doors the moment I heard them. The Doors have a lot of different sounds (a lot of trippy, psychedelic rock and songs that are legit poetry set to music) but "Roadhouse Blues," to me, is one of their most accessible, most straight-up bluesy sounds.
Kinda cool hearing music that does not have that same rap/hip hop beat over and over and over. 2 million rap/hip songs with 2 beats and 2 1/2 melodies. Glad i grew up when i did, fun to see kids like you appriciate the music. luv ya, i subscribed
It's also a pun he's saying "I woke up in morning" so you could take it as "I woke up in the morning" or I woke up in morning. Like he's miserable. Also for those who don't know it, when you wake with a hangover, you start drinking again, and no more hangover. The hair of the dog.
In order to fully grasp the atmosphere of the 60s/70s, it would be interesting for you to watch the film (The Doors). (The Doors) is an American film directed by Oliver Stone, released in 1991. It tells the story of the group The Doors and their leader Jim Morrison (Val Kilmer), from their beginnings until the death of their singer. The screenplay was written by Oliver Stone and Randall Johnson.
I'm glad you guys are starting to like The Doors they are fire!!!! Here's a few of my favorites for suggestion, Soul Kitchen, Back Door Man, Peace Frog, LA Woman, 5 to 1, Moonlight Drive, Love Street, Love Me Two Times, People Are Strange, The Crystal Ship, When The Music's Over, Break On Through, The End, Gloria, Love Her Madly.. okay that was more than a few but this band is too great not to name more!! Lol
The futures uncertain and the end is always near. And the past is gone. Right here right now wherever your body is you are. Right here right now life itself can only be right here right now. 😁 Smile and stay there. They're your thoughts emotions and body. Own them and then noone can hurt your thoughts emotions or body. Just the basics. Same same
Jim Morrison was quite a heavy drinker, especially towards the end of The Doors. He was no doubt sipping a cold one when they recorded this. Ray Manzarek was their keyboard player, and is regarded as one of the greats on that instruments. He wrote a good portion of the music, and often laid down the bass lines on the keys as well, since The Doors didn't have a steady bass player.
I bought The Doors album, Morrison Hotel on vinyl in the early 70s. Its SO good. First track is Roadhouse Blues, I love that track ,and I have been playing the album ever since. Waiting For The Sun is a superb track on that album too.
Well done, as always. If you like rockin' southern blues, I strongly suggest The Allman Brothers Band - Statesboro Blues ( At Fillmore East, 1971 ). Hope all is well.
If you are feeling adventurous you might like "An American Prayer," and the track "Feast of Friends." It's my favorite, the music is sad and contemplative. "An American Prayer," is an odd album. Morrison recorded his poetry without music and after he died the other members recorded music to compliment his spoken word poetry.
Great reaction! They made a song called Peace Frog that you might like a lot also...studio versions are what the Doors did best in my opinion. My favorite band.
You should watch "The Doors". Some love it, some knock it. But it definitely shows you what that era felt like...the hedonistic late 60's. And Val Kilmer seems to channel Jim Morrison...right down to his slinky walk. It's one of Val's best performances, right up there with his portrayal of Doc Holiday in "Tombstone". Lots of people think he should've gotten an Oscar for both roles. Btw, Jim Morrison loved Elvis. Which reminds me..how about another Elvis reaction? The movie about him opens soon. So much buzz & excitement about it! Would love to see y'all react to trailer 1 & trailer 2. As for songs you should check out "Power of My Love". No live performance but the studio version is great (sexy too)..especially the video set to a photo montage. And there's two others, both live from the Aloha from Hawaii special...""Steamroller Blues" & "American Trilogy". Truly special. Love you guys. Much love from Kentucky.💙☮💙
If you are into reading you should check out the book no one gets out alive which is the autobiography of Jim Morrison and it tells his life story from early childhood up until the time he passed away. I don’t really read but I read that book and it was awesome
Note : I think the words were :I woke up this morning and i grew myself a beard : (After a long hang over) but they changed the words to ...got myself a beer..anyway please do LA WOMAN and RIDERS ON THE STORM.

You should maybe introduce her if shes just a guest. Or if shes always there, and shes in everyone ive seen, put her in the credits. Like it or not, She is your co star.
People like Jim, Janis, etc., I think they lived hard because they knew they were going to die young. Logical people would say they died young because they lived hard, but I don't think that's actually how it works.
A line dancing song? No. It's a fast tempo blues tune composed by some beach bum white men and a pretentious pretty boy warrior poet. Simply brilliant.
