Worked perfectly, I have an older Viper where the button isn't integrated with the antenna, it was located under my dash, but the procedure is exactly the same. Thank you sir, you are doing God's work!
@@melissadennison961 You can't post that in the comments sections, search image Viper Valet Button. It's a rudimentary plastic button, attached to a plastic washer and cable that is designed to be drilled and attached behind the dash, glovebox, lower section of the dash, etc. You should see a cheap black plastic button. Again, most likely location is in the glove box, either inside the box or around the frame of the glovebox, also under the dash section below the steering wheel is another popular location.
I had the 7145v remote leftover from an old car I sold. My new car came with two 7146V remotes one of which was lost and the other broken. Though I ordered a new one, I figured I would try to get the old 7145v one to work with this newer system. Unfortunately using the method in the video didn't work. I looked up how to program the 7146v video. With that method, you have to press the valet button once to activate it. Then you have to press the remote start button to pair it. That didn't work either. So I tried combining the methods. I pressed the valet button once to activate it, then 8 presses holding on the 8th press, then pressed the Start button on the fob once and the dash lights flashed twice and the car just started. I stepped on the brakes to turn it off. Turned off the ignition and removed the key. Closed the door and tested the locks, they worked. Hit the remote start button, it worked and opened the trunk with the Aux. So if you cannot get the video's method to work, try like I did and maybe that'll work for you too?
You need - Key - Remote Entry Fog - Access to the Transmitter Control Button on the overhead control centre. To Program the Fob - Open the driver door (NB: I had my cabin light switched off to avoid accidentally leaving it on. BUT ... the only way the alarm knows if the door is open is by the interior light coming on. So, you need to have the interior light set to 'on' when the door opens. Otherwise the programming does not work.) - Turn the key in the ignition to the 'On' position - Press the overhead transmitter control button 7 times THEN PRESS AND HOLD ON THE 8th PRESS (At this point the alarm will chirp) - Whilst still pressing the transmitter button press the REMOTE KEY FOB LOCK BUTTON (At this point the alarm will sound, briefly) - Turn the ignition key off - Close door - Test Key Fob programming has worked by arming and disarming the vehicle with the fob.

Just changed the batteries in my 7142v and went outside to try this and my door was locked. I hadn't locked it when I got out of it but I had pressed the lock button when I put the new batteries into my old fob. Pressed the unlock button and it opened right up. Pressed the star button and the starter engaged and it fired right up. Glad I didn't need to reprogram after changing batteries because I bought this vehicle used and my fuse box is under the hood and I have noooooooo idea where that button on the wire is, lol.
I have a 7146v remote and it came with instructions on the back that actually worked. The model numbers on the package didn't match also then I found those numbers are for the brain unit not the remote. But open the door, turn key to on position. Within 5 seconds press and release the valet button the number of times listed for your unit. ( Only 2 units listed so try it both ways if first doesn't work). Then press and hold valet button. It will flash the number you press first. It will beep horn then press lock while still holding valet button. My locks clicked immediately. I have a picture of directions but can't up load here. Hope this helps
Why Viper/DE makes it so difficult for the end user to program a replacement remote is beyond me. Huge thanks to Jungle Explorer for making a short video showing how easy it is.

Thanks a lot I just bought a car but the viper alarm stopped working, I replaced the batteries on the remote, but I think the remote stopped working because there is no lights on it when I press any button, I order a remote, thanks again, now I know how to program it
For the viper 4105v model that does not have the button on the transmitter, I used the valet button. This is a 2 wire black push switch that connects to the top of module near led indicator light, trace from module to find switch. Steps: T 1. Turn ignition on 2. Within 5 secs Press valet switch once and let go. 3. Within 5 secs or releasing valet switch, press it again and hold. 4. While holding valet switch press the lock button on remote, at this time the horn will activate to indicate remote was programmed. 5. Release valet switch and turn off ignition. Horn will sound a long blast to indicate the exit of programming. 6. Test remote by pressing lock, unlock etc. Good luck

Okay my brother passed away so I was left his car with this remote so I realized the other day I was in a parking lot and there is no panic button on it I’m so confused so the first button car locked 2 car unlocked third car starts side button for trunk. Where is the panic button?

I've the model 7146v for my car and everything I put my car in neutral for the express wash. My alarm stops working. The thingy on the windshield stopped blinking the blue light.
i have this system in my truck. i had to unplug the battery to do some work on it, and the remote stopped working. it just blinks and doesn't do anything. i need help please?
How does this work if the car is already locked? My key fob died when my car was locked and parked. If I use my regular manual key to open the door won't the alarm sound?
Extreme cold temperatures can effect batteries, but I don't know that is your problem. It is really hard to tell without being able to test it in person. Changing the battery is a good place to start though.
But how do you use it to start the vehicle? I thought it was just an alarm and not a remote start. But I open up the dash and there's a key and a transponder in there I've tried just about every combination of four buttons I can think of and I can't get it to work
I do not believe this remote has that function. If your vehicle is equipped with a remote start function, you will need a different model of remote to utilize that function.
This works with Viper systems. Viper systems are not OEM. They are aftermarket. If a GMC Sierra has the right model of Viper system, this will work for it.
Unfortunately, there are different models of Viper systems and this does not work on all of them. You might try contacting Viper to see if they can help you with your model.
Thanks for this. My problem is that the alarm is active while trying to do this. My former key fob was washed and now I can't deactivate the alarm in order for me to pair a new one. Any suggestions?
Sorry to hear that. Man, I don't know what to tell you. I would try taking the battery out and putting your former fob in a bag of rice for a few days and then try it again. It may still work. It is worth a shot.
@@TomekinaOfa For the most part this method works for most people. However, not all viper systems are the same as this one and it doe snot work for other systems made by viper. I personally only have experience with this system because it is installed in my truck. I have no experience with any other viper system.
Hey Jungle Explorer, the transmitter for my Viper 4 button remote control starter/ security system model #7145V (Bought from Amazon) does not have the button you are talking about. I have heard that for the model installed in my car the brain is of this Viper alarm system is installed under the front dash, below the steering wheel, in front of my knees. Any idea how I can program my spare remote in this situation where it does not have the valet button on the transmitter? Any suggestion will help. Thanks.
Sorry friend. You question got caught by the spam filter and I just found it. Unfortunately, I don't have a lot of help to offer you. Different installers put the button in different locations, so it is impossible to know where might be. You might try contacting Viper about the issue.
Does this work with a used remote or only new? Also, my car has the button and an on/off switch right next to eachother in the fuse box area. The on/off switch seems to only turn on/off the remote start function. The (original remote) still locks/unlocks/arms alarm.
Couple of Questions: 1- Is this only to program lock/unlock function on the remote? 2- I am looking to program one as a spare, but a spare with the same command start feature as original? Will programing it also enable the auto start feature or is it good for only locking/unlocking?
There are many models of systems and FOBs. I can only speak for this one. My assumption is that if you program the right FOB to the right system, then all features of the system should work. That seems to be the most logical way it should work, at least to me.
I got the vehicle with the viper remote but you cannot see nothing on the remote no more so I'm just guessing what to do yesterday it accidentally started up and I didn't know how to shut the motor off lol 05 GMC envoy...

Mine arms and disarms the alarm but I have to manually lock and unlock the doors 😒 any help? I’m not a mechanic or anything… hoping it’s something simple
I have 2005 Saab and their neighbors have my missing set of keys. Dirty oil added and drivers door window off roller. Malicious thing. Police here protect the thieves and get psych evals for witnesses some hospitalized. So need to reprogram viper. Fob the same number as pkg. But when I did this it did not chirp on eighth. Waited and still no chirp sp hit off. Turned off ignition and no clicks. Some garage recently took my car for oil change and had 5 days.seems turbo gone and sound system not the same. So it does not say bumper in box on window. But after out of car could lock and unlock.should I assume code was reprogrammed to new setting. Or could he had set my missing fob as primary. The box was marked with like ax X and cap R with word PLUS. Is that a viper?
Mines doesn’t have a button. The instructions manual says press valet button which i can’t find. Model is Viper 7111v. Any help will be appreciated. Thank you
On older models of this Viper system, the button is in a separate location. The installer of the system would have chosen where to put it, so there is no way to know exactly where it is. In most cases, it will be under the dash below the steering column

How does this work if the car is already locked? My key fob died when my car was locked and parked. If I use my regular manual key to open the door won't the alarm sound?
I am not really sure in this case. Sorry.
Please can you make video.
How to go valet mode and back to shark mode for the same viper model?
Thanks
I have no idea. Sorry.
Thank you, very well done and informative!
as simple as that, thank you so much!!
My Pleasure. Glad it helped.
Good day
My alarm is working good
The only thing is the sound it makes when locking and unlocking is silent ...... Can u help my turn it back on
Sorry. I am not sure how to fix that issue. You might try contacting Viper about this.
Thanks, ir works for my viper previous version too
Thank you for commenting mcarbajalc! I am so glad the video was helpful.
Why does my viper not start in the winter when I need it ? Battery or some thing ?
Extreme cold temperatures can effect batteries, but I don't know that is your problem. It is really hard to tell without being able to test it in person. Changing the battery is a good place to start though.
Thank you! I did mine!
Thank you for commenting Jerry Masloff! I am so glad the video was helpful.
Huge help thx
I need help my viper key broke and my truck wont turn on how do I get the remote to program if i Cant turn on the truck with out the viper key
Wish I could help you. I woul md contact Viper directly about this.
But how do you use it to start the vehicle?
I thought it was just an alarm and not a remote start. But I open up the dash and there's a key and a transponder in there
I've tried just about every combination of four buttons I can think of and I can't get it to work
I do not believe this remote has that function. If your vehicle is equipped with a remote start function, you will need a different model of remote to utilize that function.
Excelent , thanks
My pleasure. Glad it helped
Does this work w a GMC 2003 Sierra?
This works with Viper systems. Viper systems are not OEM. They are aftermarket. If a GMC Sierra has the right model of Viper system, this will work for it.
Can I do this if I lost all remotes but have the key? And my car won't start it just keeps setting the alarm off when I try to turn it on
Sorry, I don't know the answer.
I tried this method and i never heard the chirp. Am i doing something wrong? Ive tried multiple times with no success
@@thejungleexplorerhas anyone ran into an issue where it's not programming after this step just won't sync
@@TomekinaOfa For the most part this method works for most people. However, not all viper systems are the same as this one and it doe snot work for other systems made by viper. I personally only have experience with this system because it is installed in my truck. I have no experience with any other viper system.
@@thejungleexplorer yeah, I hear you. Just wanted to see if anyone else has had the issue that I have but found another way to do it
Can you program this remote to a different viper model unit?
Sorry, I don't know.
Yup out of all the videos watched urs was directly on point.thx
Yep, thanks for this!
My pleasure. Glad it helped
Thank you for commenting Alloutofdonuts! I am sorry, I do not know how to answer this question.
Couple of Questions:
1- Is this only to program lock/unlock function on the remote?
2- I am looking to program one as a spare, but a spare with the same command start feature as original? Will programing it also enable the auto start feature or is it good for only locking/unlocking?
There are many models of systems and FOBs. I can only speak for this one. My assumption is that if you program the right FOB to the right system, then all features of the system should work. That seems to be the most logical way it should work, at least to me.
What if the aux is programmed to the windows will it automatically program to original viper remote settings ?
Thank you for commenting jerry lilkrumzy. Unfortunately, this question is too complicated to answer without visual inspection.
I got the vehicle with the viper remote but you cannot see nothing on the remote no more so I'm just guessing what to do yesterday it accidentally started up and I didn't know how to shut the motor off lol 05 GMC envoy...
Thank you for commenting Curtis Schatt! I am so sorry to hear that.
Worked like a charm! Thanks a lot, friend.
Hii I wonder if you know how can i fix my car which have the same model remote but it is not chirping althought it locks and unlocks
Sorry. Not sure how to help you with this one. I would it is something with the system itself.
Solved
With the door opened press lock button then aux then lock again its will get it in/out from valet mode
I have this replacement remote since more then year and never be able to figure out. My problem is my car Toyota rave 4 2006 I couldn't find that little transmitter and I have no clue where the hell its hiding. Its definitely not there up on the mirror in my car.Anyone have any clue?
Sometimes it is located under the driver side dashboard, in the back or up near the steering column.
@@thejungleexplorer Thank you.there is a button like thing at driver side door and I tried according to your video but no response😣
Mine arms and disarms the alarm but I have to manually lock and unlock the doors 😒 any help? I’m not a mechanic or anything… hoping it’s something simple
I would reach out to Viper for technical support. facebook.com/viper/
You the Man✌

How do I program it to stop chirping when I push the lock and unlock?
Right!?!
Thank you for commenting Gino Asci! I am sorry, I do not know how to answer this question.
What buttons do you hit on the remote to remote start it after it’s set up?
The remote in this video does not have a Remote Start function.
Thank you so much
Your are welcome
Sorry to hear that
Mines doesn’t have a button.
Jungle Explorer ok thank you, I’ll have a look.
👍
Tried doing it for my 94 mustang and it wouldn't work. New fob too
Sorry to hear that
Thank you!
