    Now why can't everyone describe their videos like this guy! Told me everything in great detail well done mate!

    Thanks for this video. My GMC Terrain came with projector Low-Beams (reflector High-Beams though), and I installed 6000K low-beam HIDs with a 35W ballast. I love the look, but I'm having a bit of trouble seeing when not in clear weather and in a pitch-black area. If it's raining, my headlights don't expand too far. I just ordered a set of 55W ballasts, and thanks to your video, I can see that the ground at least gets flooded with light better. So I think the new ballasts should fix my problem.

      Bros this is because white light is not effective in rain/fog/snow you need like 3800k/3000k HID/LED'S in fog lamp or halogens for yellow colour

    Love the squirrel finders on those projectors. I wish all these new latest and greatest projectors would come with that option.

    Awesome video. The cutoff on my aftermarket halogen projectors looks extremely similar so I'm hoping I'll recurve something similar to you're cutoff. I order an AC slim 35 watt 5k H1 kit. Can't wait for the completed project.

    I’ve used morimotos XB 55w 4500k bulbs and swapped them with xenon depot 5000k. I did this because i wanted a more “whiter” output than the yellowish 4500k’s. The XD is only slightly “whiter” then the 4500k morimotos. In terms of output and lumens, There wasnt any loss in both. Only difference was the XD 5000k was more of a pure white compared to the yellowish but bright 4500k. In the rain the XD 5000k still worked great no complaints. Id steer away from 6000k as you’ll be losing lumen output and the hot spot spread isnt as intense compared to 4500 or 5000k. This was on my reflector housing on my 99 prelude.
    In my 09 Camry i decided to try LEDs. They suck in projector type housing. Swapped them out for 55w 4500k and they are much brighter. While the LEDs were indeed brighter and whiter than stock halogens, it did not compare to the intensity and luminosity of HIDs in the projector housing.
    Ive also tried the expensive as shit GTR lighting ultra 2 in my gfs 07 civic si, and they are surprisingly bright and have great output wide and retains the oem factory cutoff. So it doesnt have any glare for oncoming drivers. No adjustments needed just plug n play. The intensity and color matches high end vehicles with oem LED lighting like teslas mercedes acura etc. expensive but we’re happy with them. We got it from lightwerks btw instead of headlight revolution. $25 cheaper.

    Different ballast watts different color temperature you going to get.
    Bulbs 35W or 55W means nothing only chemical mix is different.
    Sample 55W ballast and 35W 6000K Bulb give you out about 5000K and more Lumen.
    35W Ballast 55W 5000K Bulb gives you about 6000K and less lumen.

    For some reason Camry projectors blue-tint all HID's I ordered a pair of 6000K and compared to my 6000K LED high beams they are much bluer, to the point where I don't want to drive with them. Got 5000K and they look better, about the same temp as OEM LED's from Audi, Acura, Mercedes, etc

    • @richb7414
      @richb7414 9 лет назад +1

      It has nothing to do with the projectors. A 6000k bulb is going to be blue. Anything past 4300K and the color starts to turn blue. The problem you are having is that LED's are not suppose to be measured in Kelvin, so when you are told 6000K, it's a mere comparison and not the true color. Why? because LED's don't burn at Kelvin temps like HID bulbs do.
      4300K is what ALL OEM companies use for stock vehicle. It is the definition of daylight(4300K). 5000K has a hint of blue and 6000K is blue, 8000K is dark blue and also when color starts to shift into purple.
      4300K puts out the most Lumens, 5000K loses 10%, 6000K loses 30% and so on.

      +Mor Bid would a 55 watt 4300 k hid bulb be better than a 55 watt 6000 k ....looking at more light on road the 6000 k looks good but mostly when its just dark areas or there is no on coming traffic...

    • @Dexion845
      @Dexion845 8 лет назад

      4300k is better, the closer to yellow you are the better the light penetration and color rendition

      Thanks...trying to narrow down my search looking at the 3000k vs 4300k... is it better for distance also is it going to be too much on the yellow side...not pleased with my 6000k 55watt bulb

    • @Dexion845
      @Dexion845 8 лет назад +1

      6000K is what LED's produce now. But for better color accuracy and definition closer to yellow is better. Generally between 4300K and 5000K is best for actual useable light too far above that is mostly bling factor and coloring of light.

    how will you describe the actual color ? people say that 5000k is white with a bit of yellow compared to 6000k white with a blue finish and the color difference with the different ballast?

    I have an 09 camry with 35 watt 5k in my headlights and fogs. I want to upgrade to 55 watt in the headlights. I heard its bad to put 55 watt in foglight housings. Did you ever get 6k bulbs and try them on the 55 watt kit? I want to match my 35 watt 5k foglights so I might do 6000k 55watt

  • @Other7777
    @Other7777 12 лет назад

    Yo man are you sure those are halogen projectors? because I've seen people complain that putting HIDs in a halogen projector create glare near the top of the cuttoff and your glare is really minimal. I guess it depends on the manufacturer of the projector.
    I plan on getting 35W 5k HIDs and this helped me ty :D but I don't want the 5k to look close to oem 4300k
    BTW its hard to tell from video but would you say 5k HID is more of a pure white and doesn't look to much like oem?

  • @Recon13x
    @Recon13x 7 лет назад +1

    From the look of the color, and you saying those are 5k, im gonna bet that u are using DC ballasts rather than AC (doesnt matter what it says on the ballast)

  • @cengeb
    @cengeb 11 лет назад

    What car can use 55W if it's meant to use 35W. Over time relays will burn up, been there done it. 55W using 85W fogs, in a few years the relay got burned up, took time but it did happen. they don't allow much lee way when it comes to over driving stuff in car electrical systems

  • @PoopMyPants87

    You're going to melt that bulb in no time flat. You've over powering a 35watt bulb. Its probably running INCREDIBLY hot right now. If you're using projector headlights you risk discoloring the lens, causing spotting, or ultimately and most likely, melting your housing/bulb/lens. Either way, its a bad idea.

    • @jadeshimizu3112
      @jadeshimizu3112 3 года назад

      @One Sick S4 You are wrong on every count. The lense has NO color, the bulb rating is referring to COLOR only which means the manufacturer rated the color set at 35w, and you’re more likely to get spotting at 35w due to having less output availability which will have certain spots less illuminated compared to the 55w which will have more available light output to fill in voids. Don’t go posting crap like you know what you’re talking about when you actually don’t.

    • @jadeshimizu3112
      @jadeshimizu3112 3 года назад

      Plus I’ve never seen a melted bulb, maybe the plastic housings or the plastic ends but never a melted bulb, idiot
