I would practice on scrap pieces of tulle, but I would say yes. I have done a lot on organza and my understanding is the two fabric embroidery similarly.
If your machine keeps shutting off & back on it may be a control board inside your machine. I had a Huskvarna-Viking which did that & it had to be fixed with new motherboard under warranty thank goodness.
