I´m from El Salvador, but I never understood the recording policies in someplaces. The security guards or staff never explain why is not allow to record, they just say to you it´s a policy but I never heard someone got bother for it. I hope that doesn´t stop you making more videos. Cheers. :D
I can’t believe they let you record that long in súper selectos, they see me taking a picture of anything, to send for approbation to my wife, and the guard approaches instantly to scold me about it. Just to clear a little confusion, selectos is walmart competition (la despensa, despensa familiar and la despensa de Don Juan; all of them belong to Walmart) but not selectos, that’s the only national supermarket chain we still have.

Jay Cee, i think you're lucky they can tell you're a tourist, because from watching youtube, most malls, supermarkets in El Salvador don't want people filming in their store....I've seen salvadorean youtubers being asked by the mall security to stop recording.

I am an American and shop at Super Selectos when I’m in ES (Santa Ana and San Salvador)-the guards look at everyone like that who doesn’t look like they are from there!! Just make sure to look like you are shopping and actually buy a few things. It’s a bit annoying, but understandable. If you’ve not tried it, I recommend the pupusas from practically any Mister Donut location-they are so good. Specifically the revueltas con frijoles (chicharrón, cheese, and beans), delish!! Not sure if you’re balling on a budget or what, but they are about $1.75 each, certainly better than the $4.75/ea in San Francisco.
Whoa. I didn't know they sold pupusas at Mister Donut I just passed a Mister Donut in Sonsonate but did not go in. The only thing that's balling are my tenis shoes. Other than that, I'm always broke. That's why I haggle with everyone. Lol. Thanks for these tips Stephanie.

Hey JC one you have to have in mind is that in El Salvador hourly wages are so low that people has to pay in Dollars while they make a tiny fraction of income per day, like the minimum hourly wage in the U.S is what Salvadorans make in a day and then Salvadorans have to make end meet paying things like if they were in the U.S, so in other words people have to make miracles to make it by.

I can never understand why people in these "Central American" countries risk their lives to get to the USA or Canada. They have everything and sometimes more than we do in Canada. Sure they get much less wages but living is also so much cheaper. Come to "North America" and then they have to work 2 or sometimes 3 jobs just to make ends meet. It is not worth it. Also, it can't be the crime, because crime is rampant in these Northern countries too. I moved from Belize to Canada 7 years ago. Biggest mistake ever, that's why I live mostly in Mexico now where I can put my chair on the sidewalk and talk to the passersby while I film RUclips vlogs.

What’s up man. A salvadoreño here. There’s very good coffee in El Salvador, hard to find it in a restaurant, don’t know why. I’m in Antigua Guatemala and plenty of really good coffee here, my respect. Little expensive but, worth it. Hard to find a cheap place now days. Enjoy your stay, as you can.

I do have to say that the cost of living is expensive, I know the prices compare to the USA seam affordable but I dont think you know that the wages are very low. The people at the stores earn about $10.00 a day. A loaf of bread $1.10 its a lot if you are only earning $300.00 a month. Just know that there are public places such as the stores that filming is not allowed the reason for the security gards looking at you. I have seen it done to other youtubers. Keep up the good attitude.

Usually there's many places that don't let you take pic's or record video , especially super selectos and considering it got bought out by Walmart, which was a surprise to me . Even with more reason because Walmart won't let anyone record.
