- We visit York and check out the street food scene. We decide to try the Greek Gyros, pronounced (Geeros) wrap and the boxed version from a street food van in the market place in the centre of York. Let's see what we think of it.

I was born in York and there certainly wasn't anything like that there when I lived there. It looked delicious. I couldn't get over the prices. £9.00 and £12.00. I don't think I could afford to live there now. Such a beautiful city and I'm still very proud that I was born there. I love your videos. Best regards. Christine

Rich and I visit the Greek festivals given by the Orthodox churches each August on the Island in New York where we live. I love all kinds of Mediterranean foods. Excellent
Rich bought me a Ninja smoker/ Air fryer for out doors this week
I made a 4 LB Pork butt ( part of the shoulder ) seasoned with a Cuban recipe. We smoked it for approximately 5 hours.
And with the amazing delicious fall of the bone meat we made Authentic Cuban Sandwiches.
I am not a fan of heavy flavored smoked food but the Ninja gives you the option of smoke or double smoke.
So it pleases all.

I get a large mixed chicken and lamb shish kebab plus fries for less than a tenner.
I wouldn't want to be paying more than a tenner either Martin.
I went to York once but only drove through it. Didn't have time to stop and have a look around.
From what I saw and remember, it was a fantastic city. I would love to go back there.

The Street Food looked fantastic, you will have to come up with a Butlers Empire version. You are great to watch, full of the joys of life, it is quite infectious. If you are ever in Middlesbrough, try a parmo (parmesan) - my favourite has bolognese on it - I also add pepperoni for best results!
Europa used to do the best parmos, the George pub and grill in Stockton apparently good

Hooe you enjoyed York, we were there 2 weeks ago, seeing the Van Gogh exposition. We saw the vans but they were not open.

Enjoyed this video. Martin's looked the better one though, made my mouth water. Martin when your going out why don't you put a plastic fork or spoon in your pocket from home. Have to agree they wooden ones aren't good to eat with. Hope you had a lovely day.💞💞

It's all about the lamb doner for me with all the salad, lemon juice, and chilli sauce. Buy the large fill you up without the need for chips.😊 I'm still trying to prefect the diy doner at home. My late father made the best lamb shish at home or at picnics to the seaside.
Am just over an hour away from York food looked nice but at them prices they can keep it ive not been to a chippy for we'll over a year because of the prices now 👍👍👍👍

Just watching this for the first time.
I know people are saying it was expensive but they were good size portions and you also have to factor in their costs for the boxes
,cutlery,napkins etc.
Tzatziki is Greek yoghurt not sour cream. Food looked good.
That’s easily enough for 2 people, how did you manage to eat it all? Looks lovely so good on you. With Greek food I’d always go for lamb. Hope Sharon enjoyed hers.

Bamboo cutlery is awful but, I guess, is a sign of the times……maybe worthwhile taking a little camping cutlery set when out and about?!

Hi Sharon, wasn’t sure if you have done them, but sweet potato fries are lovely, they cook quick, low in fat and sweet I add cheese with mine 😂
Hi Sharon and Martin, I would have gone for the box, both the wrap and the box looked delicious, but I like the idea of putting it together myself and eating the chips separately. Just a little thing I do, if I know I will be eating on the go. I always have the plastic cutlery in a freezer bag in my rucksack. I know what you mean about those wooden forks. Hope you had a great time in York.

@@desertrat5782 No probs bro any questions ask...if u like a dab chilli sauce hands down the lidles one for 70p like in a toothpaste container is best but I assume you would have too get somebody else grab for ya if homebound I'm not far behind ya pal life rough innit noise ruins me n big aggrophobia n anxiety but only thing keep me going is my little shop mission n little bit food...but yh 2 packs mince add your powder make a big load n freeze what you don't eat ...garlic sauce microwave a bulb garlic 20 seconds them mush into half plain yoghurt n half mayo maybe less mayo but bosh you gonna have a proper kebab just over a quid £2 tops depending your ways 👍👍...£1.50 I reckon make a large one ...purple cabbage raw is authentic but anything don't eat freeze it...edit whole bulb garlic not one bulb

The box looked better value than the wrap at £12 but £9 for the wrap seems a bit expensive
Rip off was nothing special chips salad bread easy and I'm totally sure you guys could recreate the meat n sauces with even better results
I think them prices are pretty expensive tbh, only my opinion.
Street food tends to be dear for some reason. I think it should be cheaper as there is no property to pay for, Just a van.
