    Did this with a segway air t15e battery wich also showed 15v and wouldn't start charging, was a bit nervous so i did this outside and after charging for about 10-15 minutes the battery was already showing 32 volts. Leaving the step outside for another 2 days i decided to give it a go on the step and voila ! working again. Thank you very much

    Just want to chime in and confirm this works for my M365. Had been left unused since 2020 (around COVID) so probably 4 years till now. The battery was at ~14.5V and the charger wouldn't charge, so exactly like this video. However mine was NOT blinking any LEDs on the BMS.
    Bought a DC power supply off Amazon, make sure it's *at least* 40V or above because this is the fully charged voltage of the pack and also the included charger's output.
    Hooked it up using the multimeter probes and aligator clips, make sure you put an insulation between the 2 probes to avoid short circuit (plastic bag should work).
    Set the power supply to 40V-41V, then limit the current to 0.5A or 500mA (you'd want to SLOWLY charge the battery back up at this super-discharged state).
    I let it charge for about 1 hour, nothing happened, still no blinking LEDs on BMS, nothing. Multimeter showed around 35V-36V with the power supply on, around 20V when off. Tried putting the battery back and plugging in the charger and voilà, charger's LED turned red and the BMS came to life with blinking blue/red LEDs. Funny thing was, I measured 35-36V with the multimeter at this point.
    My guess is that the BMS just shut itself off when the battery was too low. But for some reason the charger couldn't "wake" it up until we "jump start" it with the power supply.

    This video saved my mi365 too. I was reading 14v from battery and charger was green. I used the original charger with 42V to charge the battery from discharge ports. After 6-7 hours, charger went into green; voltage from battery was 20v. During that time no led on bms was blinking only charger light was red. Then I tried charging from charge ports, it started charging properly and after 1 hour, battery was giving 41v on multimeter ( I know some weird number) now I am discharging the battery with throttle, front wheel in the air. Hope next time, I can charge it without any issue. Thanks for the video, really great help.

    • @TechTronic9000
      @TechTronic9000  2 года назад

      41V is full for the Xiaomi, it prolongs the lifespan as it will not charge to 42V like other scooters. No need to discharge again, it will only wear it out faster. Just use it normally and charge as often as possible, don't discharge too low and also check the battery to be around 50-60% when you are storing the scooter for a longer time interval.

    Hi, Very good video. I've check all the usual battery issues listed on youtube before finding your Video. I have the same problem as your Xiaomi, the only difference is I left mine was on charge for about 4 months without use. I have variable DC power and have connected the same as you. I'm reading 19v at the BMS terminals, I had to increase to 40v to get a 1A charge (got worried so stopped the forced charge). I did before seeing you Video try charging via the normal charging terminals, but couldn't pass any current. Also when I force via BSM terminals both the red and blue LEDs flash, is this correct? Any advice helpful, Cheers John

    Hi I’m trying to follow the instructions. My battery pack is reading 13.2V when I first started. When I hooked up the variable power supply. It won’t push any amps at 36V. I have to ramp the power supply up to 39V for about 0.5 amps to flow, then in a couple min it drops down to 0.2 amps. I’m afraid to go any higher in voltage. After couple minutes of “charge”, I measured the Voltage of the battery pack again. It did come up 0.5V to 13.7V. Temperature is good, Can I continue do this at 39-40V CV? I don’t want to blow anything up lol.
    Ps: in the start of your video, your battery pack measured in at 14.5V. Then why does it take your power supply 35V to push amps? Why won’t it push at 20,25 etc?

    The only bad thing that can happen is if it's an old or somehow defective battery, one of the cells could be lower dragging the whole thing down. In that case case it could be a bit dangerous, but it's veeeery rare and if you keep a low current and check the temperature of the pack it should be fine even then.

Use alligator clips and clip one to the inside of the charger (it’s positive) and the other u clip to the outside of the charger (negative) then on the other end of the wires put them in the correct positive to positive & negative to negative on the battery (short wires with yellow connector) and plug in the charger but only do it for 7-9 minutes or so. Then check with volt meter Then unplug everything and put it all back to normal and charge it like you normally would.

      If the cells get to low on voltage as a protection the BMS with disable normal charging to protect from the possibility of a fire. The discharge port lets power go to the cells and increases the voltage enabling the BMS to work again.
