Jesus and children: Behind the Chosen Scene
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 6 фев 2025
- Episode 3 gets talked about as much as any other episode in the show, and it's certainly the most unique. People often mention this scene specifically, where we see Jesus become emotional while listening to a group of children give one of the most spoken prayers in history. Dallas takes you deeper into this scene, how it was filmed, what it was like working with kids, and where the ideas came from.

Seeing the children walking in a group through the field reminded me of my childhood. We roamed the neighborhood and fields, doing as kids do. Our parents still don't know half of what we did. We were not in danger. Those were different times. This scene portrayed normal curious children and how Jesus would have interacted with them. Love it.
My Daddy used to send us to the cow pasture across the road to pick up cow paddys for his worm farm! You knew right away if the paddy was not ready for picking up. LOL
What is amazing about Jesus, is he turns everything around. Children were not as treasured as they should have been, but he changed that. He pointed out that children are more close to how God wants us to be.
My son’s name is Joshua.
When he is sad or having a bad day we remain him what JESUS SAID ABOUT HIM: Joshua the Brave!! And my son smile 😊
God is good!!!
Aww! That is so cute! God bless your little son
SETH 😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇
Absolutely love the message regarding “Joshua the Brave.” “He calls ya who we’re meant to be.” So true and beautiful!
Shy little Joshua is brave, because he overcomes his shyness/ fear, and speaks. The other children were not brave, because they had no fear to overcome.
This show is so amazing and heart warming ! . I'm a teenager and this is the kind of relationship I want with Jesus and this show has really helped . I love the chosen fam . :)
That is so cool to hear, Carley- we didn't expect so much love from teens, but we've been blown away with so much positive feedback- yay! :)
SETH 😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇

The look on Jesus' face and the music during the kids prayer and all the little things. They make such an impactful scene! Keep looking at the details Dallas! All glory to God!
Dallas... you are a great director.. with greater actors.. telling the Greatest story!
I love it all
Kind of you to say, Roy- thank you :)
Yes!
I've watched that at least 20 times. It brings tears to my eyes every time.
Thanks Dallas, the chosen help me to brought me closer to Jesus, continue with your God work Dallas, we are praying for you and the all crew, may u live to shine. Amen glory to Jesus christ
We are very touched to hear that, Betty- thanks so much for sharing your story and for praying for all of us! :)
@@TheChosenSeries Amen
I am a big fan of The Chosen and love hearing some behind the scene tidbits. Thanks for sharing.
Glad to have you as part of our Chosen Family, beaglemom06!
Same here! And as always, Dallas and his team's enthusiasm about this project is contagious! 🙂
Absolutely loving The Chosen 👌🙏💯
This episode introduced me to the Shema prayer 🤗❤
Would love to see a deep dive on episode 8 when Nicodemas chooses to "save his life" and loses it by not following Jesus. A heart wrenching moment and so wonderfully done!! How many of us have chosen the safe path and convenience instead of "losing our lives" and saving it! God bless you all!!
I’ve watched episode 3 with my 10 year old grandson and he loved it so much that we immediately watched the next episode with the miracle of the fish. He now wants to watch every episode, how wonderful is that!?
Hi Maureen, I did the exact same thing last week! My 10 year old Grandson watched this Episode w the Children, and he loved it! Then we watched the Episode of the fishes, and we both Loved it!! Now he wants to watch All the Chosen Episodes!!! Glad you and your Grandson did the same thing!!!! Isn’t it wonderful!!!! I Love Love Love The Chosen!!!!!😊😊
Every time I see this portion of "Jesus" is quietly moving! Beautiful!
As a kid's worker (not full time) I love this episode.
Firstly because Jesus loves children and that comes across so well here. Too many times we push kids work almost to one side but they are the church of today not just tomorrow. At one largish camp one of the leaders told the parents that the purpose of the "main meeting" was to keep the parents occupied while we ministered to the kids.
Secondly because we can learn so much from how kids approach God. I really miss not having there events this year, to be in a tent with 250-300 9-11 year olds worshipping God is really amazing. To see them bring prophetic words, pray for healing and so on makes my heart glad and so can easily imagine how Jesus felt to hear prayers from the heart not for display. (And most of all seeing young lives come to relationship with Jesus - those kids that arrive because they have to and end up not wanting to leave).
As adults we must bring our kids in much more, it doesn't need always to be childish (but nothing wrong with some silliness even on Sunday morning) but we all need to be more childlike. Imaging the fear we could engender in the enemy raising up an army of prayerful, faith filled, obedient warriors instead of "well educated" but fearful worriers.
The gospel lesson at my church not long after I first saw this episode was on The Road to Emmaus. I had fun imagining the two followers of Jesus walking on that road were a teenage Abigail and Joshua.
I got to watch the whole 1st season for free on my bday, cried the whole time, were all going home soon
Happy tears though, right, Jordan?! Happy Birthday! :)
When we were children we didn’t always tell mom and dad stuff. Later on in stages of my own life I learned what to do differently. This is a story of children and what they do. Please grown ups relax and have an open non- judgmental mind. ❤️
Humility and childlike faith to trust Our Lord!
For me this episode shows a mini preview of how heaven would look like, where God is teaching us and we are His children, with pure hearts obeying and praising Him forever. Praise Jesus ☦️ 🏥 ✝️
This was always on my youtube page and it intrigued me, so I started watching it and I got hooked and before i knew it i finished the first season! Cant wait for the 2nd and 3rd. Thank you for sharing this show! 😇
Thank you for this segment. ❤️ I hope that you make more. I also was deeply touched by the way Jesus teared up when the children prayed the Shema. Episode 3 reminds me of my childhood. I had a children’s Bible story book of the Gospels, & used to hide in my room to read from it. I was only a little girl, but I loved my secret meetings with Jesus. My mother gave me a tiny Evening In Paris perfume bottle. It was empty, but I filled it with water. I used to play pretend in my room that I was weeping on Jesus’ feet & wiping them with my hair.
What a sweet story ... Thank you for sharing. I imagine the Lord took special notice of your secret meetings with Him and of your reenactment of His divine appointment with Mary Magdalene. Whatever happened to the little Evening in Paris perfume bottle from your mom? Did you keep it? What a precious keepsake!💕
I did keep it. I married, & my husband went into the ministry. He pastored several churches & did some in-country mission work, so we have moved many times. I was just thinking about it recently. I believe that I still have it, but right now, it is misplaced. 😞 The Lord Jesus definitely had His hand upon me from a very young child. ❤️
@@knfishroom7992 Oh wow, I surely do hope you find it or that it turns up soon! That would make a wonderful children's story with a bit of "show and tell" for good measure.
I've got that sentimental gene so I've held on to quite a few keepsakes from my childhood and beyond. One of the most special is two white tissues that rather mysteriously appeared out of nowhere after a very tearful and heart wrenching time of intercessory prayer.
A former friend and his new wife had been involved in that huge earthquake in New Zealand several years ago. After not hearing from them for several days, I really poured out my heart to the Lord, begging Him to please send angels to rescue them, just in case they had been trapped in a collapsed building. The fear that I might never hear from them again or know what happened to them really broke me! Oh how I cried and cried!
The tissues definitely weren't there when I began to pray, but opening my eyes to see them resting on my bed right above where my head had been only moments before totally blew me away! That was confirmation that the Lord heard me, as well as my guardian angel. Anyway, I eventually heard from my former friend that he and his wife were fine and they survived the earthquake unharmed.🕊️🙏🏼
WOW!!! That is amazing! I am so happy that your friends were okay. The Lord be praised!
@@knfishroom7992 Amen, the Lord be praised! I can't tell you how many times I've thought about those two tissues, but I still have them in a little zip lock bag with the date/story on a 3 x 5 card inside. They're in my Bible carrier for safekeeping.
Like you, the Lord called me at a young age for which I'm so grateful. I'm sure you can testify of His love, goodness, and the many tender mercies He's shown and continues to show you on your daily walk with Him.
And BTW, one day a few years ago, my former friend and his wife came to mind and so I googled his name. When I initially found an obituary listing for his name, my heart skipped a beat and instantly I felt such an overwhelming pain of shock and sadness! However, upon clicking on the link, I saw that it was actually his elderly father who had sadly passed away. Reading the obituary, my former friend and his wife were included among the survivors, along with their four children! Turns out they had a set of twins too, and seeing that warmed my heart as I reflected upon some of the past conversations in which he had expressed a deep yearning to have a family. As the scripture tells us, "Delight thyself also in the Lord, and He shall give thee the desires of thy heart." (Ps. 37:4).
God bless you and your husband and family, your ministry together as a couple, and your church family as you minister to their physical and spiritual needs.🕊️🙏🏼💕
This scene with Jesus and the children is one of my top favourites of this show. I am a new fan of The Chosen thank you for uploading these vlogs.
So MANY of the cast and crew deserve the highest awards available for their efforts!
My name is Abi (Abigail) and one of the best gifts I've ever received was a message from a friend telling me to specifically watch Episode 3 of The Chosen. The whole time, I felt as if Jesus was actually talking to me! 😍😭
P.S. I didn't skip Episodes 1 and 2, and eventually finished all 8, but Episode 3 will always be the closest to my heart. 💕
THANK YOU FOR ALL THAT YOU DO, DALLAS AND THE ENTIRE TEAM! You are loved and prayed for. 🙏
We're so happy to hear that, Abigail- and you have a beautiful name! :) So many people have a special fondness for the "Jesus Loves the Little Children" episode
Thank you for these behind-the-scenes moments and commentary. As it was, this show is already the most relatable I have felt to the humanity of the Gospels, their characters and the time. But this adds another layer that adds to its reality. It also shows your trust and vulnerability in your viewers, sharing with them your thoughts and intentions for each and every moment. God bless The Chosen TV series!
God Bless you all🙏🙏🙏 I can't wait until the 2th season comes out🙏🙏🙏
Thank you, Alabama Hannah- we can't wait to start filming it next month- stay tuned for updates!
Oh Thank you Dallas 🙏Bless you & the entire cast & crew!. I can hardly wait to see this beautiful rendition of Jesus, unfolding in The Chosen, season 2! 💜🕊
What a great reminder that God gives us tasks, big or small, for His kingdom, and even if we don’t feel like we’re qualified, it’s through His power that they are accomplished.
I love ❤️ this scene. As a young child, I had a painting on my bedroom wall of Jesus in a field/garden surrounded by children. My heart lept when I saw this touching scene- so warm and tender. Can’t wait for season 2
Glad to hear how it brought back happy childhood memories, Carol- thanks!
I love this episode. I love how Jesus encourages the children to trust in God.
Dallas this is beautiful!
I was just thinking right now if I could fly any banner over the world right now, it would say “Jesus loves the little children, all the children of the world; red, brown, yellow, black, and white, they are precious in His sight, Jesus loves the little children of the world”
Thank you for showing the beauty of God‘s heart for children, and those who have simple faith. 😁❤️
The Chosen is the best movie I have ever seen in the life of Jesus. I have never seen a movie portraying his disciples. God Bless all the people that are involved in The Chosen. Thank you Dalles for your vision for this series. I can hardly wait for season three.
Dallas, this is such an exceptional episode. Thank you for using your gift of writing and production to create this compelling series. You're in my prayers for continued vision, protection, health, wisdom and discernment from Him.
Really appreciate your partnership and prayers, Richard :)
We all love you Dallas! Thank you! Have a wonderful year
This episode is so beautiful! I love love tnat we got see Abigail and Joshua the brave again!!!
Dallas, you wrote episode 3? It is my favorite! I love the relaxed pace. I love the character development. I LOVED seeing Jesus pray. So beautiful. I think all the episodes are fantastic, but this one is just WOW to me. I am looking forward to another "episode 3" in season 2! God bless you and all involved.
Me too
Just think of all the seasons you can produce. Peter walking on the water, the woman with the issue of blood....so many stories to tell, I can't wait!
I too look forward of listening to the explaining of the chosen. I too enjoy watching the episodes
i love that Jesus calls Joshua "joshua the brave" like what Dallas said. beautiful
Loved the Choosen' series, fell in love with lord Jesus again... Dallas sir I loved the making videos where you prayed with the actors... God bless you all.. hugs
Glad you love them- thank you!
We are all the Children of God. That was why it was so beautiful seeing Jesus cradle and stroke the head of Nicodemus like a Father would to his Child in the John 3:16 moment.
I really saw the love of the father in that moment, as well as how Jesus was with the 7 children.
Glad you brought up that scene with Nico- love your insight, RedPilled Trooper.
@@TheChosenSeries Honestly even though I have seen the show countless times, I still find myself going back to the scene on the roof.
Like Dallas said about it being the most important scene of the season. I whole-heartedly agree.
I keep going back because it really is the closest glimpse the show gives to what the Kingdom of God is truly like.
Nicodemus is what I describe as " the original bible nerd." When he gets all excited saying to Jesus " I dont know where to begin I have so many questions!" Like a young boy asking his Father.
He had been waiting his whole life to meet Yahweh, and here he was.. In the flesh.
When he realised this, all he could do was bow before The Creator and " Kiss the son, lest he be angry and you perish in the way" realising he was not worthy of standing on the same ground as Jesus.
But, in true nature of Yahweh, he lifts him up, and finishes the proverb " And blessed are all those who seek refuge in him."
I cry every time, because this is the abounding grace of God we hear so much about, and it's like Jesus is promising us, that if we seek his guidance, not only will he guide us, but he will bless us for doing so.
I see a lot of myself in the way Nicodemus was curious, amazed and just purely star struck.
Jesus has all these qualities that are unmistakably Father-like. He is wise, good with his hands ( building things), patient, loving and selfless.
The way he is with the Children, making them laugh so they arent afraid, and building Abigail some toys since her family couldnt afford any, and how despite how important his mission is, he always has time to " play with his kids" like my Dad was growing up.
He was always out of town on business ( my dad) and had a lot of responsibilities. But he always set time aside to play with my sister and I. And it is something I will always cherish.
The Father was sharing his attributes with my Dad, and he was being guided by the Spirit. So when Jesus says you can " recognize the effects of the Spirit" I instantly think of all the sweet, simple moments in my life where I undoubtedly know the Spirit was there.
I have donated to this show because there is so much garbage on tv nowadays, and as a millennial, this can be one of my contributions to leave behind for the next generation. Providing some beautiful entertainment for any that wants to see the Word Of God take form on the big screen.
I have really high hopes for the future of the series, and I hope and pray for more deeply wonderful scenes like Jesus and the Children, The Calling of Mary by Name, The leper being healed, The paralytic man being told to get up and walk, and last but not least, Jesus and Nicodemus. My favorite scene :)
Along with all the other comments, I dearly love the show, and I’m so grateful that you have done something so professional and and not cheesy, with such attention to great production values and top-notch writing and acting. Can’t get enough of it! My desired deep dive would be on the moment Jesus calls Matthew to follow him. The fact that Matthew leaves instantly wipes me out. Every. Single. Time.
Thank you Dallas for discussing this scene. I remember that I was new to viewing The Chosen & after I saw this wonderful episode, I became a big supporter. Several parishioners in my church have also become "hooked" on The Chosen as I & other fans have talked about it & encouraged them to COME & SEE.
The kids are so cute in this episode, especially the littlest girl. I really enjoy your commentary on scenes from The Chosen, Dallas. Thanks!
Dallas... when I watched this episode... which I’ve watched a few times; as have all the other episodes 😊 What this episode brought to me, was, children at any age can have an intimate relationship, spiritually, with Jesus🙌💕🙌 The whole series is SO moving, cannot wait for series 2 😊 I love the cast, your writing & directing... awesome!! 💕
So grateful for Dallas' openness, honesty and kindness in sharing with us this behind the scene explaination. It could not have come at a better time. I miss the days of childhood where Jesus was to be followed, loved and sung to without question or straining to fit Him in amongst business and the distractions of this present world. He is so worthy of all our praise, obedience and adoration.
Love the thinking 🤔 so real. So us, not perfect not always doing the right thing!
Loved this scene one of my favorites! Jesus truly is kind and looks at children and cherishes their faith. What a wonderful savior and friend we have.
I would never have guessed these children were not seasoned actors. They were amazing. Their delivery and actions felt natural and not forced.
Love the emotion shown on Jesus face, I cried too, so very thankful my Savior is so full of love.
I love that I get to go back to these awesome tidbits years and years later❤
I love The Chosen I have watched season 1 and 2,. Over 5 times. I can't get enough of this wonderful series. I am waiting patiently to seeing Season 3. I am learning so much everytime I watch these shows . You are bringing the Bible to life . Thank you
Children are a gift from the Lord; they are a reward from Him
If I had to say a favorite? 🤍this episode with the children, was just so precious and beautiful.
Emotional moment for me too, I cried! And the children not telling parents....that was natural too....some children might have, some children do not....to me it seemed "what children do!"
A behind a scene of the talk between Simon and Jesus from season 2 episode 2 (role of a disciple) would be amazing and, I believe, quite helpful.
Wonderful 🙏🏿🙏🏼🙏🏽 The children are great little actors! So sweet🌷
Yes Jesus loves the little children. A very lovable song in my youth. Love this episode with the children esp when Jesus asked them to pray. 💖🙏
We all love The Chosen! I pray that God will give you all the strength to continue this great journey!
Appreciate that, Simi! :)
I love that !!...oh Joshua the brave speaks!!! Yes calling us into who we should be!
Is amazing to me to hear how people criticize that the children didn't tell their parents about the man they just encountered., as if when they were children they didn't do same. We have all done so in order to protect something that we feel is beautiful and unfortunately some parents will not agreed. But anyways I truly Loooove everything, every single episode, every single lines and characters especially the children are AMAZING so natural in every way. You are doing so amazing that many of us like myself feel every emotion from all this people making it so real in my and our lives. That no other movie, no other shows have ever been able to do nor accomplish. So thankful for this extraordinary show that has kept me closer and closer to Jesus because of it.!!!!!! Thank you. Can't wait for season 2 💖💖💖🌴🌴🌴🙏🙏🙏
"Suffer little children and forbid them not to come on to me, for of such is the Kingdom of Heaven" I cant wait for season 2 God bless all of you.
Heard Dallas on WCRF yesterday and right away I knew his voice in the middle of a conversation ! Can't get enough of hearing about the Chosen and I know his voice anywhere..lol
I LOVE THESE BEHIND THE SCENES BECAUSE IT BRINGS ME CLOSER TO THE CHOSEN!!!
Would love to see your commentary on the scene when Simon Peter kneels in front of Jesus in repentance in episode 4. It's my favorite scene of the season as Jesus first tries to calm Simon and when that doesn't work, he calls him by his identity ("lift up your head, fisherman"). You touched on it with Joshua the Brave in this episode. I can't watch the Simon scene when Jesus calls him fisherman without tearing up. So good and so much impact!
I think it is more real to life, having the children meet in secret. As a parent, there are many many things our children do and do not tell us about, until, they are grown and moved out,of the house. That is a fact of life. I enjoyed that this movie is so real to life, and so real about people being people.
I love this episode. Always brings me to tears. So pure. I have to say- when I am struggling with things, I love first reading my Bible then watching the show. It's done in such a great and loving way, Dallas. It's helped me through some pretty dark days. Thank you all.
Proud to be part of The Chosen Army! I would like to see a deeper dive behind the scenes on Matthew. I’m fascinated with his character and persona. Hope to see it here.
Beautiful ...very good ...indeed
I love this episode and I have shown it to my young grandchildren who are going to Sunday School so they can see & have an idea of what Jesus is like, there were very attentive Ages 5@8!! Then I just showed a part of episode where Jesus brought little girl back to
Life to show then Jesus still does miracles!! We are truly blessed to have The Chosen to use as a ministry tool for children and adults!! 💕💕💕🐝
Mr Dallas, I admire your dedication to this project! The shema audio thing was an interesting reveal. This episode had such an emotional impact!
That is really cool that Dallas said he writes episode 3 in each season on his own, because episode 3 in both seasons are my absolute favorite. 😁
This is great. Thank you for listening to the Lord . It’s a true blessing
I’m one of those huge supporters love the show so so so much!
Excellent!🖐thanks
This scene is absolutely precious! To any parents out there who were concerned about the little ones "telling" on Jesus...think about it...did you tell your parents everything you did??? Especially kids of the older generation that did not stay in the house all day, or never without a cell phone in their hands. We all never wanted to be in the house. Well done Dallas. The Lord did tell them to honor their mother & father. This shows the human reality of the gift of choice to decide on our actions and to learn they all have consequences in life. The two little girls melt my heart!
Watched already and I'm watching again, thank you God bless you
Thank you again
Thanks Dallas. I like the real life you present. I hope to see more of the real Jesus in your work. You have a wonderful crew and I love what you all are doing. God bless!
Hands down, episode 3 and episode 7 are my favorite episodes from season 1.
I discussed this episode with a friend and we thought it was great portrayal of Jesus's model of children's ministry. Actually thought the writer must have been a children's teacher. It was brilliant in my opinion
A big fan of the Chosen . The relationship of Jesus with the children is beautiful. It shows Jesus’s as mentor for the children. He taught, instructed, encouraged and showed compassionate love💜💚💛🤎.
You captured the essence of children out for an adventure, as a child my siblings and I met some elderly neighbors in our building and they became wonderful teachers to us. We still have fond memories of them. When we shared that they were teaching us to making things our Great-Grandmother ( we didn't have a Grandmother), came over and she met with the neighbors to check things outs. She was so cute in her curiosity and mild jealousy. I remember admonishing her about her jealousy that Miss Anne was teaching us to make lampshades and she never bothered to teach us to sew. She was a wonderful seamstress. She was proud to hear that we were great children and we didn't proven them wrong. These children trusting and helping Jesus took me back to the moments of others helping in the raising and nurturing of children. Lead with love. Thank you for such a wonderful scene. I loved seeing two of them showing up later too with their interaction with Matthew..
That was such a beautiful moment. I teared up when I saw Jesus become emotional hearing the children pray. Thank you again for making the characters so relatable!! I have a deeper faith because of the chosen🙏🏼
Awesome to hear the impact on your faith- means a lot to us :)
The Chosen If you need help with anything at all while you’re in Utah, I’d love to pay it forward in any possible way!!
The scenes with the kids blessed me greatly. Jesus loves kids and this showed that. I love Matthew. Can you imagine being hated by all then being chosen? Beautiful.
So glad you enjoyed those special scenes, BJ
Every scene is amazing so that each time a close up happens by Dallas, it is so cool and enlightening.
This Chosen IS CHOSEN!
It is all so unique and each little thing is so intentionally happening through the Holy Spirit. Why? Because you are OPEN to Him.
This is not about you, it is all about God and He obviously knows that and loves it! ❤️👍😊
God bless you brother Dallas. With love from India 🇮🇳
I'm from Brazil and Chosen touch my heart. Chosen is magnific!!!!
Saw this at 11:11❤ 😇😇🙏 I love The Chosen! Looking forward to the next season!!!! :) ❤❤❤❤
That’s beautiful how you directed the children- I thought the same that they were natural with conversing with Jesus as they were given tasks to do by Him. That’s funny because I had thought that about Jesus and now the director says the same!
I absolutely loved this episode. It melted my heart to see the love of Jesus interact with the innocence of children. When I introduced the Chosen to my mother, I showed her ep. 3 first to get her hooked. It worked. LOL.
I also enjoy the inside videos. It brings that much more connection for it all.
Many thanks to everyone involved with this show. May God continue to bless you.
Hallelujah I own one wear often even to church!!!
I love this show 😊
Hi Dallas. I would love to hear you do a deep dive on the episode where Nicodemus is crying because he wants so badly to follow Jesus but can't leave his life behind. Very powerful and emotional.
So awesome, favorite episode
You are very good guys, doing an excellent job, God bless you all.
This episode is my absolute favorite! Whenever I rewatch the series I always start with this one.
I feel currently this is my favorite episode as it made me think: Do or will those children get special place/things in Heaven for being in Jesus’s presence and believing what he said so easily? Good job 👍🏻
7. 42..hahaha😁 nice to see all these infos💟 I loved this.. 😊💟 lots of love from India..
I absolutely love what you are doing with The Chosen. I have ZERO complaints or concerns. I would love to know more about the recipe for the wedding wine brought in as the expensive one. I use essential oils all the time, and the addition of those ingredients to the wine has me fascinated. Thank you
How I enjoy this show, my favourite 😭😭❤❤my heart breaks cause I cant watch the last 3 episodes of season 1.
