- This is what damnation tastes like. It is not the full damnation itself, but rather just one drop from the bottle, applied to the tip of the tongue. That acrid taste seems like it could never go away, and yet there is a full bottle of it left. There will always be a full bottle left.
It tastes like spitting loss, biting regret, venomous hatred, curdled resentment, dishonest blame shifting, and devouring lust, and all of it curved back on itself. To use Augustine’s phrase-incurvatus in se-it is like a snake biting its tail. Actually, it is not like a snake biting its tail; it is a snake biting its tail.

The pride people are screaming so loud and throwing such fits that they would not even hear it. At this point, I don't even think that they can hear it or understand it. They seem to have been given over to their lusts. 😕

I am stopping my fingers from hitting "send" on a message to the pastor where I am attending. There was a small paragraph in the weekly newsletter about it, and praying for the situation. That's it. Otherwise, he's on vacation. He won't even be there this week. I am beyond angry. I'm sick. How can we go on with "business as usual"? I just don't know what to do anymore.
Sounds like my church……although we haven’t gotten anything on it and I’m waiting to cringe at what they do Sunday morning……..

I feel like the conservative Supreme Court justices have the right to ask ketanji brown to recuse herself on all cases that involve women, because under oath she confessed she didn't know what a woman was. She should have to recuse herself on women's issues as she doesn't know what she's ruling on.

I am not nearly the eloquent speaker that you are pastor Doug… but I have been trying to warn the complacent in my sphere that “souls are unraveling around us at the speed of self”.
That has been my phrase for three going on four years now. I am so disappointed with the confessing professing church in my area. It is as though they live in the state of deflect and denial. Only a few voices out there are brave enough to speak truth and speak it plainly. Thank you for your consistent obedience to call people back to reality.

Thank you for always sharing the gospel in your videos. It ALWAYS needs to be heard, even by believers, as we can so easily slip into sin and death through sin.
Your constant reminders that Christ alone can clean up this mess are what could keep young, angry believers from going over the edge into unjustifiable violence.

I pastor a church. The contemporary zeitgeist grates against my total being. I am ashamed in some way because I have been caught off guard by the degree of current godlessness and apostasy. Being surrounded by sin and death can carry a risk of bitterness for one that doesn’t partake in the absurdity. I am trying to be loving and Christlike yet firm and it can be a lonely tight rope. I say this from a position of humility knowing my own sin and failure and need for grace.

We are listening to people who have chosen to be permanently hormonal, fuss at us and tell the rest of us ADULTS how wrong we are, how hateful we are. I used to teach high school, it reminds me a lot of being back in the classroom. In the halls of late middle school and high school constant drama. The people telling us, dramatically, that refusing to allow them to change the English language is the same thing as violence are the ones shooting, then setting dates for days of vengeance. Vengeance over what exactly? Apparently the increasing one on one violence over dating murders. The rest of us are not involved in that, they will have to look at their own community for the culprits.

At home we had an epiphany of sorts. Discussing the creation of humans, we marveled at the way the words are translated into English. Male and female. Man and woman are the created image, the likeness of God. Not man alone. Not woman alone. Man AND woman are the created image of God. Three parts: individual man, individual woman, and the one person who is the marriage of man and woman. This is not theology, but simply our thoughts at home. But it thrilled us to see us as a triune kind of creation, because, you know, the Triune Godhead…anyway, thanks.
