I travel for work and use a jet boil, a Porlex mini grinder, snow peak Field Barista Coffee Drip with haro v60 filters. Also always bring my snow peak titanium double wall mug. Works fantastic. I think I might start bringing a portable espresso maker with me soon.
Great tips Asser! I travel a lot and I normally take with me part of my home set-up and pre-pack beans by 15-20g weight when I don’t bring my scale. I pre-lined my cup so I know where 300ml stops. Time to have a separate set for travel. This is very helpful. Cheers! ☕️
Very interesting to see your setup, will come in handy for the next trip :) I went on a 5 week trip earlier this summer, packed the regular Aeropress with the Prismo attachment, kept the filters in a camera lens filter box, grinder was Timemore C2 Max and scale was the Black Mirror in its original box for protection. Everything went well and I bought coffee from various roasters along the way. As a bonus, converted the wife to speciality coffee :)

For a recent 30 day car camping trip SoCal and Colorado my kit included: Izpresso K-pro, Jet Boil on top of some generic foldable pocket rocket stove I got for a dollar at a moving sale. It’s fueled by MSR mini canister. I just used a traditional white funnel with Hario V-60 filters. Also brought pico-presso that I used twice on whole trip. I find my pour overs last for hours into the afternoon whereas espresso much less. I also explored local roasterys and experimented with special releases, allocations, etc. it was lovely. Great informative vid. I’ll definitely be getting one of those origami poor over filters. Happy travels in India . . .
I like bringing one of my small Ikea Pokal glasses along when traveling, they feel really nice to drink from I use the Aeropress go cup in the same way you do.

Did a road trip from Oregon to Ohio and brought: Feldgrind grinder, Aeropress Go, Jetboil and Starbucks instant as backup. I chose not to bring my Luna scale as I wanted a minimal kit, so measured by volume. Heating the water in the Jetboil on my tailgate was fast and easy and drew curious looks from fellow travelers at rest stops as I made fresh coffee in under 5 minutes. Do you know offhand if the Weightman scale would fit under a Flair Classic? I am always on the lookout for a scale that will fit as my Luna is just slightly too large.

I don’t know if you’ve covered this before, but got any tips for your grind settings on the grinder? I have the same one. I’ve been brewing a v60 for years, and funnily enough I lost my old aeropress (no idea how!) I am going to be travelling to Japan soon and was thinking of taking an aeropress for a coffee in the hotel. The canned stuff in vending machines is convenient as all hell, but it has nothing on an actually well made coffee. I will still be drinking the canned stuff when I start to flag though, haha. My main question on the aeropress is, do you think that the Go is a much better travel companion, when you’re going to be having a decent enough cup in a hotel, and when you’re travelling with a 20kg suitcase? Are there any other benefits that the Go offers me that make it worth buying? I see the Go more as backpack/camping coffee maker, which I don’t really need. Honestly I am also considering the XL so I can make mine and my girlfriend’s morning coffee at once (my standard 16g coffee, 250ml water brew fills a standard size aeropress). So my final question here is, how much bigger is the XL in terms of if I was throwing it into a suitcase? Is it a huge, bulky bastard? Or only really a little bigger than the standard. Answers from literally anyone would be great, thanks!
I have been using the aeropress go for many trips so far, if you dial it correctly the coffee would actually taste great. I was also contemplating on buying a hario air kettle but after seeing it in the store, it's actually pretty big, storage would be a challenge. So instead I carry a 250ml milk jug that I would slide under my JX Pro. I also have a small scale that is as big as the acaia lunar, and have used a miniso travel bag (that is designed to store make up or something) has 2 compartments and reasonably padded to use it to store my small scale, my cheap milk frother (in-case I want a milk drink) and my needle thermometer-also since it's padded I put my glass dosing beans container along with a 50g coffee bag to store my coffee. I only have 1 grinder so for now, it's my heavy JX pro. But I house it inside a decently sized (again) make up bags from my mom. It's a pretty versatile set up, I can also put my plastic kalita 155 in there. I found steaming milk using the actual hot water steam from a hotel kettle is also pretty easy and handy-of course using my tiny milk jug!
@@coffeechronicler When I thought about the idea, seems like a stretch. When I tried it the first time I was amazed at how great it worked. So I did it a couple more times on other trips on different hotels. It's so great! I can have my morning milk drinks and enjoy great filter brew on local coffee shops at the middle of the day. My needle thermometer ended up only being used on trips more than at home.

Hi Sam, hope you're still up for the task! I did some measurements and it seems that all the official ones are a tiny bit off, and don't take the heat plate into account. So, according to my measurements, it's 10.6 cm x 11.4 x 2.2 cm with the heat plate. Let me know if you need extra information, and again thanks!

Thanks Vasavat :) I usually just keep an eye on the kettle and turn it off when the first big bubbles appear. You can also use the AeroPress plunger as a gooseneck; that will take boiling temperature down to brewing pretty quickly.
I'm sure it's a nice little grinder, but the Q2 with heptagonal burrs just brings outstanding clarity in the cup, better than any of Timemore's current offerings
Weightman scales are nice for weighing beans and for aeropress, but for pour overs they are just too susceptible to heat. It always ends with them changing weight on the fly because of that. Even in your video you can see that it detracts some weight from your pour over. It is a known issue in comments on Amazon and Aliexpress.
Thanks for the heads-up, will pay more attention to that. That being said, I don't mind a little bit of fluctuation - say something like 1-5 g, with a method like pour over.
Would not recommend the 1Zpresso Q2. I had one before its handle literally broke while grinding. It was just 1.5 years old. The crank handle of a 1zpresso Q2 is probably the weakest point of this grinder, cause it is only made out of weak aluminium.

you can use grinder bean catcher to weight your coffee
Can't really WDT in a metal bean catcher though

Just keep them in the original bag from the roaster, and try to squeeze out all excess air for better use of space and optimal freshness.

How does the Tetra taste compared to a V60? Any recommended recipes? I can’t get mine to taste the same as my V60 yet

Are regular 1x4 filters used for the Munique Tetra Drip?
You can get it to fit, but the ideal is a cone shaped/v60 style filter

It still fits, but protrudes an inch or so, since the Go is shorter.
Why not use the Timemore Nano grinder? Very small and the handle is foldable.
