Every time I watch these videos I find something new I gotta get me a binder and. Putt all my stuff I find in that like you do perfect idea instead of just sticking it in the book and getting everything lost!
This collection journal idea of yours is so soothing and has many possibilities. I have been collecting so many things, in the past year, that I could have several journals. Keep the categories going. Fantastic artistic "Shannon" idea.
So glad to hear you harvested your Flow magazine. I have had one for several months, and I just could not bear to rip anything out. . . but now you've inspired me to just do it, and it will be fine! Ha! :) Am so enjoying this En Masse CJ. I happily glue each night as I'm watching Netflix. It is THE most fun thing ever.
Love this flip through! I am having a blast cutting and gluing. I've gone through 2 glue sticks already. I agree there is something therapeutic in the process. I flip through my own collection journal and just feel the pages, the thicker they get, the better they feel! DH is picking up discarded magazines at the post office and bringing them home like a little boy bringing dandelions, lol, we're enjoying a second childhood!
Started mine and am so loving it. Thanks for sharing this neat idea with us. Just love to cut and glue and the sound of the pages is really neat!! Glue on!! :)
My collection of travel guides have begun to arrive!! Now to choose which ones to glue together!! Looks like I know what my project will be for this weekend!! Always, Leslie
+Anne Tombrun I get to see how beautiful other states are and then I get to re-use the paper (instead of throwing it away), so that the tree didn't die for nothing!! Hmmm.... make a journal or put in a landfill.... kind of a no brainer....
I obtained a red leather like catalog from work, which nobody wanted and today you helped me decide what it will become, my collection journal. surprised you did not have collections of hands, arms or legs, I still am amazed after watching the video with those collection of stamps!
Love seeing the categories that you are doing!!! Still in the collecting stage.... lol and thinking that the magazine that I chose is too small.... oh well just need to get gluing!!!
Good afternoon from South Gate California. Just watched the video lol it is very soothing. I'm going to try this. Thank you so much this is going to be fun.
I love this idea of journal! I will do that for sure. Your page with windows is hilarious! It’s almost some conceptual abstract art 😁 - I am often wondering why I love so much gluing paper on paper… I’m glad not to be the only one.
I am loving this project and yep its the gluing didn't know how much i LOVE Gluing. I have about eighty categories to fill and my 8 year old girl Jessie thinks its a brill idea so she has just started one and went straight to the food cupboard and starting cutting off the bar codes on everything and stuck them straight into hers, (darn wish i had thought of that one, gonna have to be quick on shop day to get to them before her haha lol). tfs love and big hugs Caroline xxx
Shannon, you are my crafting and creative superhero! I'm combining my End Masse collection pages to my March Planner because if it's in my planner, it'll get done. I'll upload in a few days.
I'm creating a One Book Journal Planner inspired by you. I was hoping you would continue to share yours on your channel, but I guess you must only be keeping up with Facebook. Are you able to do an update on RUclips?
Loving your book pages. My three favorites are the flowers page, the tea packaging page and of course the L page. :-) Better to get smart by the letter Z than not at all. lol Thanks for sharing with us. :-)
All your fault, just started this tonite hehe!! It's a blast, and I really did make something similar as a kid. I've started with a big fat Vegas Weekly magazine, and am including categories like: red, black, hardware, paint chips, and Elvis. :))) Keep it up, as with everything you do, it's fabulous!!
I haven't started a collection journal . . . yet . . . thought I could live it through your videos, Shannon, but I think I'm about to give in to the call. Glue & paper has such a Siren song! LOL!.
Thank you again. Love looking thru this along with you. I have also added some categories like comic strips, Christmas, Halloween, cups of coffee/tea/hot cocoa, cookies/cupcakes, snowmen, birds, wall clocks/mirrors, Egypt and art work. I've taken out a few things only because I don't want to add anything 3D so thanks for the blank page : ) Have fun!!
+Shannon Green Each time I watch this and see your Z page I always hope that you will come across a zebra in a NatGeo magazine and put it on the left side : ) Just Love This Journal!!!
I am loving this. I don't like to hoard stuff but it kinda just happens when you're a paper crafter doesn't it? This is such a great way to use your stuff, but even more so helps you 'let go' in so many ways. You inspire me and make me giggle too! xo
You've mentioned people asking you what you are going to do with something you've created. I'd like to share an idea with you. What if you collect for 2016 and then each new year, take the old year's collection journal and paint a page to represent what you have collected on it. A=Anticipation, Watch Faces = Quote about time, blah, blah, blah. A fun way to actually use up supplies (I'm pretty confident anyone watching this video is a craft supply hoarder). I'm going to start my collection journal this week. Thank you for sharing this idea.
I am loving doing this, I did go ahead and keep my new Oklahoma guide as my base. On the categories that are harder, actually, on all of the alphabet pages I am adding at least one large picture. I have a beautiful large zebra. I was trying to put my pages in according to your index but I'm probably switching that up because I'm coming across things I want to add that aren't in sequence. I need a bird page and more than likely a whole page for owls and I love crowns so that will be somewhere....and it goes on and on!
Drooling over some of your Texas/ cowboy images. I ordered my OK Travel journal and the cover is different. You must have the one for 2015. Bummed :-( LOL
This project takes on its own life, I have a list but as I find things it just morphs into something else. I picked up a huge fighter jet book for 50 cents in the op shop. It is full of illustrated diagrams. I didn't have a jet category but I do now.
Shannon I really like this idea - I may have to "borrow" it. ;-) Question, do you have a video regarding the notebook you keep your clippings in? I am very interested in organizing my clippings and your system looks perfect Currently all the clippings and pages I got out of publications is in a plastic bin, not ideal when looking for something. Thank you!!
Can you tell me where on the YT playlist you talk about how you store the harvested images? I have already outgrown my system and am looking for a better idea.
What do you do if you find you have some blank spots on a page that maybe another image doesn't fit, if you know what I mean? Do you leave the space or colour it in or what, I'm clueless lol :) I love the sound of the pages turning, is that weird?? :))
You do what makes you happy :) Sometimes I'll layer stuff willy nilly, other times I plan the layout, I have used more than one page for a category, etc. Just experiment and figure out what you like to do.
You may have answered this in one of your videos...I have 3 little ones that make it hard to hear sometimes lol...why a collection journal? What if you want to make a crafty page, or put something in a swap page and it's already glued in this? Or do you just have so dang much it doesn't matter? I'm new to allot of this stuff and there are no dumb questions...right???
Not a dumb question at all! You pretty much nailed it...I have more bits and pieces than I will ever use so instead of just watching the collection grow I started using it. Since I've started this, not once have I regretted gluing something in my book instead of saving it for a special project...in my experience those special projects are few and far between so might as well us it and create some happy while doing so!
I sent you a rambling facebook message today. You'll notice when I type, as opposed to "talk type" there are fewer weird words, typos, etc... and I am much less verbose. Anyway. downloaded your list for this, and was wondering if you could post a pdf of your blank page for categories too. I don't know how to do that fancy stuff, so I would really appreciate it. Thanks! Fran
I have been cutting stuff till my fingers bleed, well maybe not bleed but blisters. I need to start putting them into my en masse book. Here is the problem, I have a book similar to yours but the pages seem very thin. Did you use the pages as is or did you glue some together to thicken the pages. I know my husband tells me I worry to much.
Ha! Most of the pages I just used as-is. Occasionally I glued a couple together....usually after ripping a hole in one of them :) Just do what makes you happy :)
hi shannon, what do you think about using an Ikea catalog for the collection journal? it's smaller in size but does have a lot of pages. also-i've changed my settings for anyone to reply to my comments-but i don't think it's going to make a difference :( you may just have to leave a comment to my comment 0_0 sorry... i am LOVING your collections journal-can't wait to get one started!!! thanks
Humm I may have to watch again... I was waiting to here your new categories that you are adding... Anyway.. I have a bunch you don't.. and now wondering why on earth I assembled my journal so crazy.. I'm ending up with pages at the back that are totally random.. but who cares... I'm having fun... Poor DH.. thinks I've totally lost it.. and now afraid to throw anything away.. Some of my extra pages are.....beads....book pages.. buttons...fabric scraps....feathers...finger painting...Glitter page... Washers....houses...movies.....poke a dots...paper dolls....die cuts...stripes..hats.. and still have room to add more.. "The never ending Journal.".... LOL..
I like the search process... Also like to see it after all is done! Really fun! 😀👍 please keep it up! 🌹🌺🌸🌷🌼💐🌻😊
It is very therapeutic for me. This by far the best project for me, LOVE it. I love the way your pages sound!
+lebiram45 I'm with you Maribel!
That cover and how many have wanted it ❤
Every time I watch these videos I find something new I gotta get me a binder and. Putt all my stuff I find in that like you do perfect idea instead of just sticking it in the book and getting everything lost!
It does help quite a bit!
This collection journal idea of yours is so soothing and has many possibilities. I have been collecting so many things, in the past year, that I could have several journals. Keep the categories going. Fantastic artistic "Shannon" idea.
+scobbydotwo Thanks so very much!

So glad to hear you harvested your Flow magazine. I have had one for several months, and I just could not bear to rip anything out. . . but now you've inspired me to just do it, and it will be fine! Anne Tombrun Then don't do it. Duh.
+Anne Tombrun I get to see how beautiful other states are and then I get to re-use the paper (instead of throwing it away), so that the tree didn't die for nothing!! Hmmm.... make a journal or put in a landfill.... kind of a no brainer....

+Pamala Hanson Yay for acquiring a journal!!
That is the coolest thing!! I need to make my own. I MUST make my own!!
+Dawn Cathlene Yes! You must!
Love seeing the categories that you are doing!!! Still in the collecting stage.... lol and thinking that the magazine that I chose is too small.... oh well just need to get gluing!!!
+Crafting Vicky I"m convinced that even the biggest magazine would be too small...this is addictive!
Good afternoon from South Gate California. Just watched the video lol it is very soothing. I'm going to try this. Thank you so much this is going to be fun.
+Magda Chavez You will have so much fun doing this!
I love this idea of journal! I will do that for sure. Your page with windows is hilarious! It’s almost some conceptual abstract art 😁 - I am often wondering why I love so much gluing paper on paper… I’m glad not to be the only one.
Gluing stuff is the best!
Your journals really inspire me! Still waiting on that surreal page! LOL
Oh Lord, I have so much on my to-do list that you might be waiting for quite a while!
Awesome Shannon, I have start putting my tabs on now
+Maggie Lockley Woo hoo!!
I am loving this project and yep its the gluing didn't know how much i LOVE Gluing. +Lottie Faith It sort of takes on a life of its own!
You are so fun!
+Laura K Thanks Laura!
I think I'm going to have to start one. Just need to find a good thick book to start. Or maybe make myself one.
+Darlene Bromberger Yep, just find something and go with it!
You should check out ok.gov and find their tourism section. You can request free materials including the large guide Shannon uses for her collection.
its just totally fun!
+Darlene Ferree I agree!
Drooling over some of your Texas/ cowboy images. I ordered my OK Travel journal and the cover is different. You must have the one for 2015. Bummed :-( LOL
+Kelly Henkins Yes the 2016 is different but it's fabulous, I ordered one too! I love the size and shape of it.
posted the beginnings on my blog today. Linked to your website. Also added a button to your sight on my side-bar. Creative Blessings!
Very cool!
+TheJournalCEO Thanks!

+Jade W Yep sure could!
Hey Shannon, I am wondering what your book started life as? It appears to be a tourist magazine from Oklahoma? Love the cover😍
Its the 2015 one. She likes the 2016 one as well. Its different
+Jo Anne Owens Yes, it is the 2015 Oklahoma Travel Guide.
Can you tell me where on the YT playlist you talk about how you store the harvested images? I have already outgrown my system and am looking for a better idea.
Found what I was looking for.
+VA Purl OH good. :) 3-ring binders and sheet protectors work well for me.
What do you do if you find you have some blank spots on a page that maybe another image doesn't fit, if you know what I mean? Do you leave the space or colour it in or what, I'm clueless lol :) I love the sound of the pages turning, is that weird?? :))

Hi, and thanks for the flip through -- I missed it if you said before, what adhesive are you using?
+TheMeriAtelier I've used a little bit of everything but lately I'm mostly using Elmer's glue sticks.
Shannon Green thank you, good to know
