Wheel of Fortune 5/30/13: SECOND MILLION DOLLAR WINNER (NEW BIGGEST WINNER)

- Had to work for it more than LEAKY FAUCET. (A lot more.)
If you want background on this maingame / see illustrated how you have to go win the million, check out the rest of the episode: • WoF 5/30/13: Leading U...
Remember:
1. Have to pick up MDW (1 slot / 72) in R1-3 with a good consonant call. There's ~24 spins per game from R1-3.
2. Can never BANKRUPT after picking it up the rest of the game
3. Have to solve the puzzle you pick it up in to retain it
4. Win maingame (sometimes you pick it up and you're hopelessly behind anyways. It has no monetary value in the maingame!)
5. Hit what usually is 100k on Bonus Wheel (1/24)
6. Solve BR, which can sometimes be very difficult
The MDW literally ends up meaning nothing for you unless you get through step 5 (which has now happened twice, we are 2-0).

EDIT:
Why all the talk about taxes and rigging? A) Yes, I think it can get as high as 45%, but 550k is still life-changing dough. B) They videotape loading the Bonus Wheel every time for Standards & Practices, and if you look at the tail end of this video they opened every one off-air for confirmation. And no, the Bonus Wheel has no magnets or whatever other device you want to make up, and sometimes, people manage to suddenly figure it out.
For those complaining about the BR puzzle itself, that is legitimate. Wheel loves adjective-noun combo THINGs that can be quite abstract and not make much sense, because they can't really afford to have people win even 50% of the time on the season. This honestly was the least offensive of BR problems this season.
You got to love what happened after Autumn guessed "Tough Workout"...Vanna gesturing "Yes!", Pat saying "What?!?", then Vanna gesturing "Yes!" once more before giving what is known as a "High-V", like the cheerleader she once was back during her high school days in her native South Carolina.
Yes I saw the video too.
"High-V"
No, she's just raising her arms.
Gotta wonder if she is still engaged to that guy.
2:26 Pat: How did you solve that puzzle..Her: I don't know, cuz i work out?
classic
What's more impressive than the million dollars: that amazing puzzle solve. Seriously. One of the few puzzles I never would've gotten on the show.
I love how when she realized she won, she just started spinning around on the spot. Her mind couldn't process it, so it just went "SPIN!!". LOL
hhunhhnb
Mrs. White has class. She is a class act. She always dresses sharp and her personality is charming.
Sajack is a great host! After all these years he still does a great job
Man, I can't believe this was 11 years ago!
Wow! What a moment! That's how you celebrate 30 years with one unforgettable moment. It's amazing, congratulations Autumn, you kick butt! $1,000,000 won! My favorite moment right here!
This was incredible! Finally someone won the MILLION! We wish her the best!:)
This is one of my all-time favorites.
After Taxes
Total money: $10 - Can by yourself 100 chicken nuggets. Congrats! ;)
I watched it Thursday night and "HOT DAMN!" she won $1,000,000. That's the second Million Dollar Winner in 4 and half years on Wheel Of Fortune game show history.
Thanks WayoshiM as always for a great upload. I can't believe the letters she called, but it worked out. Also not only did she solve a tough puzzle, she came within a whisker of going to the 'I' instead of the 'N' on the bonus round wheel.
Also, we watch Wheel of Fortune a lot... We all enjoy it. Pat almost ALWAYS says "talk it out"... I'd say at least 80% of the time he says that exact phrase.
NICE
!! just heard the good news Girl. Your a pure example that good things happen to good people. God Bless
I'm with you on this. TOUGH seemed real easy to figure out, and given what letters couldn't be in the second word, WORKOUT was a little challenging but not too much so to figure out.
oh my god how do people like you make it through life? seriously good luck in life you will need it very much
Some people are naturally good at this kind of game. My daughter new the answer to "snow leopard" with nothing more than the E, N, and R... and she was 10 at the time. She naturally sees the words. This woman could have the same talent.
However, the fact that she intends to spend all the money on a wedding? Wow... I hope she didn't really mean ALL the money on the wedding.
Nice to know good ole Pat Sajack is still hosting.
GOD, what a great solve. I had "tough", but couldn't solve it (before she did). That "G-" at the end is almost always "GH" (given that you can eliminate "-ge" and "-gs". but that compound word at the end...WOW. What a great solve. She's obviously a Wheel watcher. THANKS FOR POSTING!!!
I'm genuinely happy for her! Love seeing people win huge prizes like this...
Pat's reaction at 1:44 is PRICELESS!
1:44
I did that once when I was little with no letters, watching with my Mom and brother, BAM called it..blew their minds!
Being self-contained episodes, a switch in rotation could easily be done. Also, I believe viewership is not as high on a Friday (beginning of a weekend) as other days of the week. That's why Jeopardy! started beginning tournaments in the middle of the week than on a Monday.
i didn't know this show was still running after all these years!
Since "Wheel", like most daytime non-news shows, is taped weeks in advance. I'm sure they could play around with the timing of when this episode gets played. Remember there are no returning champions anymore. so they don't have to show episodes "in order" of taping, unlike Jeopardy or Family Feud. It would behove them to do this in sweeps week. Plus the tie-in with the Millionaire Maker promotion were outside the taping of the show so they could be put it any episode.
Pat's big "WHAT???" was truly amazing and hilarious at the same time. You could tell that it took a second for him to register that she had solved the puzzle correctly, as he had probably been preparing a speech to console her if she missed out on the million (which he knew she picked) As soon as I heard his exclamation of "WHAT???", I knew that she had to have won the million, given the incredible reaction from him.
Funny enough, he sounds completely deadpan when he says she won the million.
He's very happy, but makes the contestants the stars. It was deliberately understated.
My life is now complete...finally saw someone win the million dollar prize lol
It was actually won almost 5 years before this one in 2008
What I like best on this show is that you never know what is going to happen. I have seen people with everything but one word filled in and they still can't solve it, and there are also people like this who pull a rabbit out of a hat.
I could watch this a million more times, she is just so amazing :)
This has to be one of the most subdued million dollar wins I have ever seen.
CONGRATULATIONS, GIRL!
It was actually around the time of the tornadoes in Oklahoma. I live in Tulsa (hour in a half away from the Moore tornadoes that ripped through the town).
That's quite a leap for predicting the life of a complete stranger.
same here. I take it she's the second person ever in the 30 years of wheel of fortune to actually win a cool $ 1 million. I wonder when and how long ago the first winner actually won.
What an absolutely fantastic, exciting, & wonderful showing. Congratulations & happy Marriage! God Bless you all. What a thrill it is to share your excitement with you.
I am as happy for her as if it were me. Congratulations.
Maybe the show was prerecordered and they happened to play it on the anniversary date as all the shows might not be broadcast in the sequence in which they are recorded. They film several of these in the same day and for many weeks or few months at a time and then replay them later.
Hah she deserves that 1 million after guessing that puzzle basically instantly on her first guess. I was totally clueless. The guy controlling the board seemed stunned that she was able to even guess it that fast. Notice the delay from her answer and the noise meaning she got it right.
this is interesting. the show is Celebraating it's 30th anniversary, the theme for that week was "30" she waas on that week because she wqas 30, and part of her winnings had the # 30 in it. talk about coincedences.
That was so close to clicking to the next card, and then she only pulled one extra letter, but still she nailed that puzzle. Amazing, it was meant to be for her.
The biggest winner in wheel's history and i don't think anybody can top that!
I bet. All of that makes so much sense.
It is scary how close the wheel came to landing on the envelope one past the one million
"How did you solve that puzzle!?"
- "Idk, cause I workout"
no thanks jeff
this show makes so much money i bet they could give a million out every episode and still BANK
What I find funny is how Pat said "We have a million dollar winner" so casually, as if he were simply saying "Hello" to someone.
Then everyone else freaks out.
:P
Amazing puzzle solving skills and incredible luck. Good for her!
lol 3:32
Pat: "And she's gettin' married..."
Girl: "Yeah... about that..."
They just finished re-airing this episode!
I saw the episode! It was so epic! And... I'm watching this anyway.
The Best $1,000,000 Celebration on Wheel of Fortune ever!!!
"okay now we're going to tell you the answer, but DON'T guess it on your first guess, got it?"
"uhhh ya, I leik words"
And that was really a difficult puzzle to solve. Good for her. Very Good!
If I was her I would be freaking out like CRAZY
This video and "What I Did All Weekend" are my two favorite
I had the gut feeling about her winning when she picked up the Million Dollar Sign from the big wheel. When she spun the bonus wheel went to N I had a feeling the Million Dollar Card be there. She also had 4 letters to work with also. Also she won 2 trips!
OMFG SHE IS SO DAYUM SMART i feel so happy for herrrr
Pat looked more like he was in shock than pissed off. Probably thought she likely wouldn't get it and couldn't believe she pulled it out.
1) Chances are highly unlikely and based on statistics in this case to have all the combinations (getting the 1 million card TWICE plus winning the puzzle with barely any letters)- You have a better chance of standing in a cornfield in Iowa and getting eaten alive by a Shark
2) See #1
3) I've been to 2 Wheel of Fortune shows (one in Vegas and one in Phila) and what you mentioned is not the case
4) This was just to top it all off- but I would probably be right- because producers are corrupt
Sajack: "How did you solve that puzzle?" Back of his mind: "Fuck, I guess no bonus for me this year."
Autumn: TOUGH WORKOUT
Pat: What!?I am very impress.. Let me look.........We've got a Million Dollar WINNER
i wonder what her reaction was when pat asked "is this the first time you've won a million dollars?" lmao
EXACTLY, it is so ovbvious. Anyone who does not realize it ,is totaly in denial
Way to go! Congratulations.
Heeeey, I had this on my t.v. the other day, but I wasn't really paying attention. Didn't know this was so rare.
She is now the biggest winner in Wheel of Fortune history
And she is still the biggest winner. No one has won the million since Sarah from 2014! I hope we have another one soon! And I have never seen a million dollar winner live!
4 1/2 years since the last...ABOUT TIME!!
I don't think you guys realize that's just the way Pat Sajak is. He's not mad at her winning or thinking "fuck this chick." He was just baffled by her solving the puzzle and to catch her off guard he's just like "Oh we have another million dollar winner." If you watch Wheel of Fortuen you see Pat act like that all the time. He's not mad. It was honestly great composure on his part and not bein like OMG MILLION DOLLAR WINNER@#!%@#%. He's a funny guy and that was just him actin the part.
Congrats Autumn.
Pat has been around like 20+ years longer then regis was ever heard of.
Pat is like this better not be coming out of my paycheck
Sad thing about the Price is Right.
If you win a car that was retailed for $25,000, you're taxed on it. So, pay a percentage of that car value to tax, or forfeit it. Same thing goes for other game shows also, like Wheel of Fortune.
Even better we you see how close the wheel came to fall into the "I" slot
highest tax bracket is 35% and if you have a state income tax add only about 5%, so she'll pay less than 350,000 in taxes with deductions/exemptions
Allison, the exact amount is $4,260 ($30,340 - $26,080)!
His face when he says, " We have a million dollar winner." He's like fuck you.
I'm impressed at stylish ASCII art in YT's limited comment space.
Lol why do people have to think this is staged? It's only the second time this has happened, and it is possible to figure a puzzle out like that.
Anyway, congrats to her!
The host looks like he couldn't be more exited xD
my jaw was literally hanging for 1:42 to the end of the video until my brother finally came in asked what was wrong.
She is incredible, they need to have a championship round whenever the next person wins $1 Million. Hopefully everyone's still around by then? Lol
ONE MILLION DOLLARS!!!! And for the first time in nearly 5 years!!
Now it hasn’t happened in almost 10 years. I hope it happens again before Pat retires.
Workout is the only word in the English language that follows the pattern _ _ R _ _ _ T and doesn't include any of SLNEMPAG. Not that that matters much. I just found that interesting.
It was an amazing solve.
This reminds me of when Family Guy did this and Peter asks for the batman symbol, and still wins.
Speaking from experience Its huge, she will walk away with ABOUT 600,000. Still not bad for a few mins of standing, spinning a giant wheel, saying a few words.
Can you upscale it to 1080p60?
This was an even shocking puzzle solving moment than that guy guessing the puzzle Gopher in a puzzle way back.
I think when he said "talk it out" she immediately knew the last part was "workout".
Even if she did choose all the right letters, that still doesn't make it staged. The only difference is that they're basically guessing the puzzle much earlier.
Good things appen to good people.
Good for her.
Can't wait to watch it again :D
Congratulations to her!
She doesn't need to win the lottery... She just won a million dollars!
Joey must be stoked
This is an acceptable bonus puzzle. If you saw one the week before categorized as "Person" and was "Finicky Baby," that's a REALLY bad puzzle. The contestant only had a "N" and a "C" to work with.
My mom watches this show every day, and she can't believe she missed this.
That’s crazy that she missed it! She probably was busy! She could have watched it on RUclips later though
His exasperation to her solving that puzzle was funny......!! WHAT.......!!
Ken Jennings studied well and he is very bright anyway. Anyone who thought it was rigged was jealous.
No state tax in Texas and federal tax on winnings is around 25%. Not considered income. 25% would be 250k. Leave her with 750k if she's from Texas.
