    a deviously clever bar bet style card trick that can easily make you some extra pocket change... Please use this responsibly! It's a self-working trick that you will be able to learn in minutes. I teach two different methods. In the first method, you can use any deck of cards. The second method is a bit cleaner, but you need a deck with a one-way design.

    The good ol' Irish kickback scam! A classic and fun trick indeed! The patter I am familiar with goes something like this: "The next card that I'll turn over will be your card," and instead of taking the participant's playing card, the magician takes the chosen card and turns it face down, while the spectators will be expecting the magician to simply turn over the next playing card.

      This is the same way I've seen it and definitely prefer it to "pick up" as there's less to focus on "what does pick up mean?" with that first little tease.

    I really like the version of this where you spread out the deck and using the other persons hand (I like to say I’m reading their pulse). The only issue is so many people know the trick that it doesn’t shine the way I want my tricks to. Btw love the deck, the illusion on the front makes them really stand out. Can’t wait to see some fancy flourishes being done with them.

    I learned this trick decades ago. Everything was the same except the "gotcha line." I used the phrase, "the next card I turn over will be your card.'" Since I have been turning over cards like you were doing, and I have the next card pushed out ready to appear to be turned over, it just continues the action I have been doing. I would then reach into the face up pile and turn over their card face down.

    Here's a better way to rotate the deck, i noticed it while practising the trick. Just do a thumb fan and then do a one handed closer. It would automatically rotate the deck.

    The biggest problem i see in those "tricks" were the other part is involved is, you never calculate how BAD some people shuffle cards. If you tell them, just CUT the deck, they be suspicious, if you tell them to shuffle it, with the one way design, they might drop cards or flip them around. Always concerned me with tricks like this

    I learned this exact trick but with MATH, instead.
    It requires using only 21 cards from the deck. Have them pick one and place it back in the deck. Lay out 3 piles of 7 cards...have them point to the pile their card is in...then pick all the piles up (the pile with their card, FIRST, then the other 2) and repeat this process 2 more times (3 in total).
    After the process, you tell them "im going to throw your card at you"...
    You count off cards (11 in total but not out loud. Somehow, their card is ALWAYS the 11th card), throwing a couple at them, randomly. You THROW their card by them and STOP. Flash the next card you're going to throw and kind of show it to them, and say "i bet the next card I throw, is your card"
    Then, you pick their card off the table and throw it at them 😂

  • @jugglerjaf

    I was set up to do this trick once quite a few years ago and the mark actually picked the key card from the bottom of the deck, so I switched into having them place their card in the deck and shuffling and after a bit of “thought” I read their mind and revealed their card.
    Best reaction ever!

    The main concern I have with the one-way deck version is that what if they rotate the card as well? Then it's going to be facing the same way as your deck and I feel like it would be pretty difficult to object to them inserting it as-is or to rotate the deck back without them becoming suspicious.

    • @rays5163
      @rays5163 Год назад

      they usually won't. i'm not going to say it's impossible but it is kind of unnatural for them to that unless they're already on to you and trying to mess you up intentionally
