@@wavydavy8751 it’s the best it’s ever been. My only issue is if I am staring at a screen all day my eyes become much drier than prior to lasik. It’s a quick fix though I just add some drops and I’m good.
@Joe Turner Lasik Institute has a 20% off special and my Insurance covered a extra 5%. ( most insurance will not cover Lasik because its considered a elective procedure) . Total came around to $4000.00. They do have great payment plans. If your credit is decent , you can apply for CareCredit and get a 18 month no interest plan, if you dont want to dish out the cash up front. And I was able to see pretty clear within 1 to 2 days. You do need to avoid direct sunlight for 7 -14 days by wearing shades, keeping your eyes moist by applying eye drop and medicated drops (they supply), prevent rubbing your eyes and not allowing water in your eyes during the first week. During the night , lights have a little halo look but it will take up to 6 months for your eyes to fully heal. Trust me, its worth it. 💯

I had my lasik a week before but i see a little blurry, got 6/6 vission but its still blurry feels like i have applied lenses so when will this blurriness go?
I got mines done today at lasik place i was so nervous. It was intense i thought i was making a mistake but i had immediate results. Went home my eyes were so irritated i couldn’t even open my eyes. Woke up 4 hours later and i have 20/20. They really don’t tell you what to expect i guess that’s for the best because it’s intense!
I just had LASIK on Thursday (today is Sunday). I am so glad I got the surgery!! That sucks they didn’t give you time for your Valium to kick in. That seems like a poor decision for them also. My Valium was in full swing when it is was time to go-for better or worse. I told the surgeon he was hot when I walked into the OR. Totally embarrassing. 😅
Omg, your little dance when you could see is sooo heartwarming. 😁 I'm about to do mine this Wednesday. I backed out 5 years ago because I was scared. This was very helpful.
Thank you so much for giving us your realistic view of the Lasik procedure. I have been wanting Lasik for over 10 years. Even though I've encountered so many real friends that had it done and still have great eyesight. My 87-year-old mom had it done years ago with cataract surgery and just took her for an exam and Daaaaaamn she sees 20/30. I'm so jealous. I'm going to get a couple of consults here in San Antonio, TX. What LasikPlus did you get yours done.
Your experience was almost identical to mine. everyone says its painless and you don't feel anything but you definitely do feel lots of pressure and its very uncomfortable.
Something that most don't know is the price is fluid and can be negotiated. Yes they will initially quote you 4k-6k but I got mine done for $1900 both eye PRK. What I came to understand is certain centers contract a doctor to come in on a certain day to "do the surgery" and they just own the equipment and book clients. What you don't know until you get there is its primarily done by machine and the doctor really just "supervises the machine and preps the eye. The process only takes a few minutes per eye so its in the centers interest to get the most out of their money paid to the doctor. Depending on where you go you will find that its a conveyer belt of clients on surgery day as they try to fit as many as they can in. The lady that did my consultation quoted me around $5500 originally. I told her I had seen an ad online for $800 an eye so I budgeted for that so I'm out. She then dropped the price to $3500 and I repeated that's nice but again I only budgeted for about $2000 out the door so that's where I am. She then agreed to do it for that which surprised me at first until surgery day and I saw how this actually worked. So how are my eyes? I did PRK about 8 years ago and still have 20/20 vision in my left and 20/25 in my right. Due to how poor my right eye was prior to surgery I was told upfront that they were not sure what I would have in my right eye after surgery so together i see just about 20/20. Cons that I've notice is small print that's very close like within a foot or so I have a hard time focusing on with both eyes open. Guessing this is due to the differences in each eye which before surgery I would have both eyes open but move whatever it was I was looking at to be more in alignment with the left eye where now I typically just back up some. The next thing is after surgery if I'm tired or have been drinking at night I get the stars around lights but my vision clear with that exception. Oddly enough I somewhat like this as I use it as a gauge of whether I should be driving or not. LMAO. If I see the stars I stop and get a cup of coffee to wake me up or have someone else drive because I'm intoxicated.
Thanks for sharing your experience! Glad you had a successful outcome! My advice to anyone who watches is to read the packet they give you before surgery day because it tells you what you will and will not be able to do after surgery! Example: no swimming or wearing makeup.
Koda its about a month later and my vision is 20/15. Totally recommend. Recovery was a breeze. You can feel the pressure but it is nothing bad. It just feels trippy but no pain. The first 3 hours my eyes were weepy and blurry, but almost like a switch I could see. By the next morning I was able to drive myself to my checkup appointment. For the first week i had halos. But i think it was barely a week because I cant remember when they went away just know they didn’t last long. I got lasik with contura and it cost $4,000 and i got it on carecredit with no interest. Would 100% recommend.

Just had mine last week- great experience and no regrets or issues. I did go with my only consult I made (amazing reputation/reviewed place and price- $3200 in LA), but what I didn’t know until my post lasik research is that some bigger places also give lifetime warranties which include enhancements should they ever be needed. Kind of cool perk to have (although I’m sure those places are much pricier), but I guess the need for an enhancement down the line is generally pretty rare- so maybe I didn’t miss out. In any case, very happy with my 20/15 results, and easy process.

Mask pre COVID 😂😂
Some people say that it ruined their life. Other people say that it’s the best thing they’ve done.
I think it’s a luck thing.
It’s a 50- 50 success rate.
Yeah it's really scary, honestly don't know if it's worth the risk
BellTastic Art ITS NOT, trust me.
EmyyWolf why not? Did you get it done
LOL 50/50?!
People are more likely to post when something is negative.
What are the risk? I've known a few ppl who got it done and are happy
