The most common question I'm getting is: Q: How do I join the SIP Gateway Preview? A: Contact your Microsoft account team or your Microsoft Teams specialist team. They'll check to see if you have an NDA and the right model phones with (PSTN) phone numbers. If everything checks out, they'll nominate you for the preview and your tenant will be activated shortly! If you run into issues, have your Microsoft team contact me. Thank you everyone for your interest in this and watching the video!
great explanation! Quick question - is the expectation that clients continue to use a mix of both Teams Admin Center AND Webex Control Hub to manage these devices? In other words, use TAC to setup UPN/License/Policies and use Control Hub to manage any lower level device-specific settings? (My understanding is that Configuration Profiles in TAC are only applicable for Teams Certified Devices)
Great question! I believe your understanding is correct. TAC will provide limited admin capabilities for these devices, some of which is listed here: learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/sip-gateway-configure#view-and-monitor-sip-devices
we have 7942 cisco phones, so it means that it will not be possible to use SIP gateway there, right? What a pity. And also my question is, if is possible on some cisco models use teams application. Thank you
Hi, correct. The 7942 is not on the list. You can check what's compatible here: learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/sip-gateway-plan#compatible-devices

Can SIP Gateway be used for Cisco Jabber also?
Hello, no it can’t. But you can connect Jabber to Teams in other ways, like Direct Routing for audio or CVI for video.
Would this work with a Cisco Dx80 device?
Hello, I don't think it will. List of compatible devices is located here: learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/sip-gateway-plan#compatible-devices
The SIP Gateway is now generally available! Enjoy!

Everything says it is GA now but I can't find any settings or documentation on it.
Almost there! It’s rolling out now. Next week or two and you’ll see docs etc.
We're targetting week of Dec 6th now...
how do i join the sip gateway program?
Hi Mike, checkout the pinned comment above - hope that helps!
@@CollaborationSimplified Thank you very much, will this also work if we are using our own audiocodes SBCs? for direct routing?
You're welcome Mike! It support DR, MS calling plans and Operator Connect, so you should be good to go.
@@CollaborationSimplified perfect thanks, i was worried this was just for MC calling plans
