I love penix. Huge ATL fan here. You are right about the one to pitts. AWFUL. The one in Washington didn’t hit a wide out - the wide out ran the wrong route (as stated by Raheem M) Against the panthers, the one to McCloud was low, not very accurate - but he it did hit his hands and McCloud toss it up. Still wasn’t accurate though, so wouldn’t call it perfectly placed
@@Psalm24-su3vg Nobody will hold it against him. Those interceptions has an asterisk behind them. Penix is on the right track. A real good defense would surely help his cause.
We have to really take a full overview of what Penix did. We needed to win these 3 games to even have a shot at the playoffs. He didn't flinch and actually played well enough to win. The offense actually carried us against the Panthers. I love the confidence Zach Robinson has in Penix. I'm excited to see how much more they can open up this offense having a full off-season working together. We've got 3 legit superstars on offense, for the love of GOD get this defense together!!!!!!
And to think in the last two games he got us into OT in both with game tying drives. Unfortunately, the way it works he didnt get to touch the ball in either game. This feels remarkably different than Mariota to Ridder for obvious reasons. Pissed that its another year of not playing post season ball but I'm excited to see what a full offseason will look like.
I agree. AND... I absolutely hate the OT rule that the if the first team scores, then the game is over. Horrible way to go about OT. The college OT rule would be better, even though I'm not a huge fan. But honestly, the most logical way to do it, would be the way that Basketball does. Just put a set amount of time in the clock and play the game until Tuesday time runs out. The team with the most points wins the game. Too simple.
@markgardner42 I agree. There should be change to the OT rules, but to play devil advocate, we would not be complaining if it were the other way around and we were in at 10-7. But honestly, we should have never been in this predicament and that's the saddest thing of all.
That's absolutely true but if they'd had made the playoffs, then what? Lose in the first PO game? Atlanta was not consistent and good enough to be a contending team this year. Period...ATL would have been just an easy W for their first PO game
They gave up 44 points to Bryce young. They don’t deserve to make the playoffs, ever. Come Sunday night, make a bowl of ice cream, find your fave spot on the couch, and watch a team that plays on real grass that actually knows how to get it done in big moments
As a Falcons fan, the good thing is that we can’t go into next season thinking we’re just going to walk in and win the division. Raheems had some overly confident comments before last season such as “we won’t be drafting this high again” and explained that the coaching staff was so large bc “when you win, you lose coaches and we we won’t have to find ppl to replace those that leave”. Next season hopefully everyone understands that the playoffs is not promised or a cake walk. You have to go out there and produce, that’s both the players, the coaching staff and front offense. Hopefully this disappointing season wakes my team up bc I’m tired of always thinking “next season” in December.
That fact that you and others thought that the falcons would: “walk in and win the division,” when there is another team that was a cnt hair away from the NFC championship, and a team that actually knows how to win superbowls is a really bold assertion.
@@LifeOfAHam the “goat” picked Tampa for very good reasons. They were the number one offense in yards the year before without him smart guy and they’ve been to the playoffs twice without him, but please, continue
@ lol you have to be young you mean you had Jameis throwing 30 interceptions playing catch up just like he did in Cleveland this year meaningless yards. You do know that whole division is bottom 10 in nfl in win percentage in nfl history and the Bucs are the lowest of the 4. So like I said they don’t know how to win. The GOAT showed up at your door.
Putting Penix in that late in the season, further exposed the ineptness of Raheem Morris as a HC...Period!! This is his third bite at the apple as HC and thus far he has failed miserably!!
As a lifelong Falcons fan the whole franchise seems lost. Can't understand why they hired Raheem Morris as head coach, good coordinator but not a head coach. Then pay Cousins a gigantic contract and pick a quarterback with the first pick that's 24 years old who could have started from day one and didn't need cousins. Now this upcoming draft it wouldn't surprise me if they draft more offensive players when it should be all defense.
Falcons wheels fell off after the saints game with 3 missed koo kicks. Who knows what happens if the falcons win that, maybe Kirk doesn’t fall off but whatever, penix gives hope
I told y’all it was no disrespect to Jayden Daniels but Penix Jr was going to be by far best QB of the draft and it wouldn’t be close. It’s because Penix Jr has one of the greatest arm talents of all time with insane levels of accuracy from anywhere on the field and elite of elite sack avoidance ability in pocket. It’s like combining the arm talent of Stafford with the accuracy of Brees plus sub 4.6 speed that he occasionally uses. His ceiling is joining Lamar, Allen, Mahomes as definitive top 4 QB in the league. It’s just a shame Falcons wasted his rookie season because I truly believe he was good enough to win a Super Bowl as a rookie

Isn't it interesting? We have all these rookie quarterbacks who came into the league who've done very well.
