    I think the loser of any match has such a great opportunity to let go of the ego, come into humility, not take it too seriously, and enter a new level mentally. As I am going through a tough time myself with loss, I watched this match hoping to find some inspiration for dealing with loss with grace. And Medvedev is the gift I was given. His grace, compassion, authenticity is the inspiration I needed- I wasn’t even looking at it the winner, I was keenly looking at how to deal with loss. Thank you Medvedev, you have won many hearts and you have given me the lesson and inspiration I needed to handle tough losses mentally. The world focuses mostly on winners, but this time I salute you my friend. 🙏

      Gracious in victory oor defeat
      Points to. Ponder
      The 3 legemds hv contributed immensely to tennis and enriched the sport
      On the other side the upcoming players never had a chance because in the final or semifinal invariably u come across either a f or N or dj. And they go bk with dipression
      The overall effect the generation in this past decade hv suffered as either they were not as talented as the legends or they lost hope
      Always there R 2 sides of a coin

    Daniil is just different from any tennis player I've ever seen. You never really know what drives him, or how he's going to react to a win or loss. He thrives off negative energy. He clearly hates to lose more than he loves to win, but when he loses he never seems upset. He's somehow nonchalant and ruthless at the same time.

    As Novak fan, I felt sorry for Meddy here. He beat Carlos by playing 12 out of 10, as he said it himself, and expected more of himself in this final, but it's just tough to play that incredible 2 matches in a raw. Plus, Novak is more experienced than any one of them, and can vary his game in so many ways that when he is focused and fit 100% it's really almost unsurmountable task to beat him in a 3/5 match. In any case, Danil should be happy with the strategy he came up with to decisively defeat Carlos, and that he's now an undeniable part of the New Big 3.

    • @tamnatalie3
      @tamnatalie3 Год назад +6

      Thanks for your nice words, as a Meddy fan, I'm so disappointed as I know how much he wants to win a second Grand Slam. But Djokovic just outplayed him. Many said he should hit "down the line" at the break point at 6-5, I watched it in slow motion, when Meddy ran to the ball, he was already late and the ball bounced off to the green zone, as a double hand backhander, he didn't have any choice with that racket angle, cross court is the only one if he needed to put the ball back into the court. Djokovic read his game so well, and Meddy didn't have enough weapons or energy to handle his attack. Of course, his path to final is very tough, Baez, a guy on the rise with three APT titles, DeMinaur, another guy on fire and his tough match up, Rublev in heat wave, then Alcaraz. On the other hand, Djokovic was playing a guy out of 100 in Quarter final, and an inexperienced kid just in 50 a few weeks ago.

      @@timothylee2772 Russia and Belarus share a land border and constitute the supranational Union State. Several bilateral treaties have been concluded between the two nations. Russia is Belarus' largest and most important economic and political partner. Belarus cooperates militarily with Russia and has refused to comply with US, UK and EU sanctions on Russia. Belarus is only one of 25 countries subject to US sanctions. The US is a relatively young nation so we have difficulty understanding the complex history of Eurasia with its millennia of shifting settlements by different peoples, invasions, kingdoms, borders, political structures, cultural traditions and generally are ill-informed of our foreign policies around the globe. I give Daniil a lot of credit for playing against Novak because it is not easy. I'm sure it was very stressful physically and mentally but he hung in there. He's still a great player because I've watched him play and win a lot of matches and today was not one of his best performances for sure.

    Just couldn’t keep up with the machine of mental toughness, Novak. He will get him sometime this year but this one hurts. Could’ve made history by winning three top players in one slam + winning both Carlos and Novak in any tournament sounds like a never achievable milestone Daniil could’ve reached today. Kudos to Novak, he was indeed clutch today

    "sometimes tennis is not that easy"....understatement of the century! What a great personality...he'll be back many times as a Champion! I feared when he lost the 2nd set he was mentally done and he sort of said that. It's almost impossible to forget the score and stay positive and come back 0-2 to tie and then win.....that is the lesson if any. How do you play great when you think it's over?

      He should have won the second set as he said. He had set point and a pretty easy pass down the line that was wide open and sitting there, but he guided the ball cross court right to Novak. That was such a huge mistake but Novak deserved the win and outplayed him in the first and 3rd sets.

    Amazing atmosphere, to be actually there as a proverbial "witness to history" being made (and I can only imagine what the scene will be like in Australia four months from now, when Novak looks to become the all-time record holder at 25 slams) - but kudos to Medvedev for making Novak earn it (3 hours 17 minutes in 3 sets). Medwed will definitely not be stuck with one slam

    He had a much tougher draw. After beating Alcaraz, it is difficult to do it again. Djokovic had a very easy draw. Fritz who only won 2 sets out of last 7 meetings, and a rookie Ben S. is so green as a player. Medvedev clearly was nervous at the beginning and should have won the 2nd set.
