I am a white South African but I have always appreciated artisanry and craftsmanship from many different creeds and cultures. I find the most full-hearted attitude comes from this sense of cultural appreciation rather than the limitation of viewing things from a sense of cultural appropriation. I always take care and consideration to express and preserve the source point and artistic provenance of each individual maker. And I love each creator that you have showcased here

we are a mixed family and wanted to represent our home designs with that. so found this video and got my sofa from albany park but for accessories i found ukundahome and loved their lumber pillows which were price friendly. when i saw the video again i thought i would say thank you.

I'm just a regular white girl and while I' happy to see black owned businesses doing well (or any businesses in this economy), but what's most important to me is that they're putting out gorgeous, elegant stuff! Thank you for sharing them in a well condensed video- but it's sort of a shame that these have to be identified as 'black owned'...in my opinion it just creates more division. How about we just call them beautiful brands?
The reason why it's important to denote they are black-owned is because people deserve to know where their dollars are going. Would you rather support Walmart or a women-owned boutique? Target or an Asian-owned restaurant? It's all personal preference.
Yes, we all wish that those businesses didn't have to be identified as such. But, if you know history, black businesses could operate in black communities only.
