For me as ENTJ it has been really hard to learn other types. For ENTJ-s most times everything is connected and we test things out. It might seem that we rush or do 10 things at once, but we really are just testing things and will these work in every setting. Our goal is to be independent, because it is really hard to go with the pace and emotions of everybody else.
For the 40 year old who you know, who said that money can`t not buy happiness, it really was bragging. ENTJ-s love comfort and assets. When I was young my brother asked me, why I like to have lot of money and he said that I answered with money I can get thing moving quicker. I was then seven years old.
So money is really important for us, because it helps us achive things quicker. We do enjoi doing things for other people. For some it is stressful, but for us this is the real life, thrill and happiness. When we are busy, moving somewhere and be appreciated for this we are the happiest. The problem is when no one appreciates these things that we do or thinks that anyone can do it.
Now for weakness. It is not an option for us. I think every ENTJ learned this early on. It is what people think of you gives you the ability to do larger things. If you show weakness then people around you panic. No one follows weakness.
Saying that it is really good to know what other people see in us. We do not think that we are special, but as we do a lot of things we learn to learn quicker and it means we know stuff. But we are also very open minded. So thank you for this.

I think one of the reasons why ENTJs only tell you after the fact that they're depressed or whatever, is that we didn't know it at the time. Or didn't know what to do about it (i.e. talk to people, stop working yourself to death/ start doing something instead of just being stuck, get help). And that it's only some time after the fact that you realise, oh. I think I was depressed. I think that was actually depression. Oh gee, I guess I should have gotten help or something. Oh well. Anyway it's over, so let's move on.

    • @rachel4060
      @rachel4060 Год назад +1

ENTJ - yea sometimes I dont stop to think about what I am feeling but additionally, the reason why i dont tell people im depressed is because I get the intuition that people just dont know how to handle it. If say im ashamed I did x or am not doing enough, people reply with "ohh no I wouldnt feel ashamed about that, you are doing your best" LIKE NO. I dont need to hear that, this makes me feel wrong for my feelings. I need you to ask multi layer questions, e.g. what makes you say that, where do you think it stems from, have you overcome this in the past. And then lead me to figure out for myself that everything matters everywhere all at once💫 Because I think most ENTJs truly just struggle with are they a good enough person/are we adding enough value...(since we are constantly assessing that about others)

My husband is an ENTJ. I am an INFP. I am new to MBTI. I wish I knew about this years ago. It is helping me understand where he's coming from. I wish he would take the time to learn more about me. He accepts me for who I am and and constantly trying to improve me, but he has no interest in knowing more about me. Its a bit disheartening. Its just been very trying as we navigate getting older. 32yrs together and never had a fight. I think that is why INFP's are good for ENTJ's. We have a lot of patients. I have to say though, he is so good for me in many ways, except there is no emotional support whatsoever. I'm slow to get my thoughts out. I can see its painful for him to let me talk or anyone else for that matter. He wants to dominate the conversation, AND the humble bragging, absolutely!

I love that you guys mentioned that ENTJs need to consider Meditation and being present bc I'm never HERE I'm always in the future and I feel unsatisfied with my day to day present bc I'm always thinking of what I want to accomplish instead of enjoying my day or the people that are in my life most. One thing I would tell ENTJs (coming from one) is to make your present circumstances the most authentic and congruent as you can make it. I notice I look to the future more often (out of lethargy for the present) when I don't like my current living/job/relationship situation. It also gives me more motivation to accomplish my goals if my present circumstance inspires me :)

Another interesting thing is I feel very disconnected to the past. When I look at old photos and videos, it’s like I’m viewing someone else’s memories, like visiting a dream. And my wife is the polar opposite, and holds grudges and will bring shit up from years ago "remember when you said this" Nope, I don't, I really and truly don't.
It's like my brain has a reset every night when I sleep, and all the shit people hold to as grudges, ect was in my cache and it got cleared.
Never held grudges, or even remembered "worthless" facts from a few days prior, like what I ate, unless I really really try to hone in.
But like he said, my brain is constantly moving, I have 1000s of things in my mind every single day, thoughts, plans, ideas, the future. Even when experiencing and spending time with love ones, my brain is still processing Tons of other information. "How do I solve that problem at work, what am I going to do tommorow, what time will I go to bed tonight, oh shoot I was supposed to do X today"
It is relentless, unstoppable, sometimes I wish I could just push pause and I just can't!

I'm not sure if this is a good answer but I will try:
Always focus on how to get stuff done, not going too deep in the details and you don't need to be
100 % sure all the time. Off course when big things is at risk or important decisions has to be made then you have to take your time before you make the call.
When you are taking decisions, know what is logical/best things to do short and long term and what is feelings. You have to control your feelings and not the other way around, especially when you are taking decisions.
On work I always thinking: how to get the job done faster, better and easier. Be open for new ways to do things on to the job and be curious all the time. also have faith in yourself. Have a plan but, if needed adjust it. Learn how to handle stress, be in shape, get enough sleep, be ambitious.
We entj's do good on job but on homebase some of us is not the wife dream man. I think the main reason for this is because our heads is always on job producing new plans and ideas.

I don't disagree about the humble brag except that it's being done on purpose. Maybe, but I'm just thinking about something else you said about the ENTJ having trouble relating. Telling or discussing what I've been doing is "me" so yes I'm talking about myself but really trying to share something about "me". Sometimes I stop myself before I even say it because I don't want to come off that way but in essence it just means I can't in fact share so it's a catch 22.
I can't small talk or open up about things that other types probably perceive as being relatable because frankly either I don't know what that is, it's a waste of time so I'm not thinking or talking about it, and/or it feels inauthentic coming out of my mouth. Literally just last night I was standing around talking with friends (people I serve with) at church and felt like I was just saying stuff to try to be a part of the conversation for the sake of being a part of the conversation but its not really me. I felt zero connection to the conversation or the words coming out of my own mouth. I wish I could. Even in conversation, I want to be productive. Learning, growing...thinking. Anyways this is one of the best videos I've ever seen on an ENTJ. It has given me some things to think about. Keep up the good work. Your friend - ENTJ, Project Manager ( that's my actual job lol)

"Unhealthy types" gets used often. And used so vaguely within the MBTI communities. Mindboggling. And, it is often a projection. A projection of what is acceptable at the current stage of the social norm narrative(s). Why is there no more thought put behind this is beyond me, but whoever's going to be using/throwing terms like that around might as well have the full mental capacity to properly explain it. If they can, that is.

Your video has great insights. I especially like that they seem original and authentic.
One thing I don't agree with however is the statement that people are intrinsically valuable. It really sounds morally right, sure, but the real world says otherwise. If you look at the data regarding abductions for example - where a measurable value is being placed on a human life - you'll see that for some people high ransoms get paid, while for others nothing at all. They might be mourned, but apparently money is more important than them. It might be unfair, but who says we live in a fair world?
If this realization makes you uncomfortable it's understandable. It's a painful truth after all. But you can use this insight to take care of yourself instead of depending on others. You will see that nobody loves you like you do. There's so much you can do for yourself if you focus your efforts on #1. And with this realization, you can also gain the help of others. They don't want to help you, they want to help themselves. Help them help themselves and profit from it. 👌

Re: setting goals then emptiness at the end, based on my own observations and stuff I've heard in MBTI circles/literature, I think Se-Te can mimic this when Fi gets neglected. The main distinction being that for Se-Te, the goals might look a bit more pointless and scattered from the outside because they don't have that Ni zeroing in of purpose to them? So it's like, spinning the wheels to look busy/productive and avoid criticism or being hassled about indulging in the sensory too much, but it's almost like the worst of both worlds. Cause not only is it not getting the person much of anywhere in terms of like long-term security/stability, but it's also leaving them feeling empty.
To put this in context, and I've definitely never done this (:P), you can imagine someone obsessively chasing goal completion in a video game, which can simultaneously feel productive while adding no long-term security and stability to their life. I think this can especially manifest if you are raised around perfectionist/workaholic tendencies, or feel you are chronically neglecting important areas of focus in your life. It's like this gruding avoidant compromise "I want to do my Se thing, but I don't really want to do the Te-Ni thing, so I'm going to kind of do it so it feels like it, but it's not really the same thing in substance." When what's missing/needed is listening to that Fi, overriding the clamor of those outside influences that are making you feel guilty, and going "ok, what's actually important to me and what I believe in. Put my productive energies into that and then I will feel more free to be Se stimulation seeking in the rest of the my life."

I think there is tremendous benefit to working on your "subconscious" - it's easy to get stuck in the loop you're most comfortable with (as an introvert, looping with your two introverted functions - as an extrovert, looping with your two extraverted functions). The loop I'd much prefer to be in as an ISFP is the "ENTJ loop" - Te and Se. And I think it's great when ENTJs can get looped into their Fi and Ni. 20 minutes a day of doing nothing is a great start! I would argue that your best form of Te is going to show up when Te and Fi are balanced. All the functions are on an axis, and to diminish one for the sake of another is often going to lead to further unhealth. Growing in Te is a great practice for INTJs, but remember that Te involves showing up well in the world and in human interactions not just getting things done. Fi also helps with that goal, understanding emotions and humans. A balanced person is going to be healthier overall then a one-sided function person if that makes sense :)

Those who complain about the length and speed seem like they're trying to embody the ENTJ stereotypes. I understand being impatient, but It's erroneous to be proud about it because it's not a helpful attitude to have because it limits your perspective on a lot of things, and the lack of being in touch with your perception function.
Thank you for the insights in this video. Though I wouldn’t agree with everything entirely, I can see how ENTJs would appear to others.

FYI, when making a video for ENTJs, you should get to the point and don't be wishy washy because you think we might get offended. I promise you that we will not get offended by you keeping it real. We can and do appreciate constructive criticism. Just present your information efficiently and without extraneous talk that is just being said so that you don't offend anyone. :)

What you said about Ni actually applies to ENTPs rather than ENTJs, I see this sort of pattern in ENTPs, we or atleast I personally do not hop and in terms of Ni and focusing on one thing, I am more similar to INTJs in that aspect, the difference is, is that I take into account that things may change and always live and see things through the worst case scenario

Appreciate what you both are doing. Super appreciative. I want to address one point
18:56 it's not the speed your talking. Well maybe that debatable. I think its I want everything in bullet points and what you said in 30 minutes I could read in 30 seconds. Or said in 1 minute.
    Want the principles or points.
Looking for the value, gems etc. As long as your giving quality then your gold.
Want to hone in on quality.
Everything you said think could be said under 5 minutes. But appreciate both of you doing this. Least its authentic
P.S. I would love to hang out with both of you. Your cool

Just started listening to your videos. My one big question.... How do you know so many people? Every example is, I know one guy who does this. I know a girl who....
(lonely infj here just having trouble keeping in touch with a couple other homeschool moms. I can go weeks and only see or talk to my kids, husband, and in laws. Most my old friends ghosted me years ago. 😜)

Yeah but if they are the boss. Then them being annoying is you not acknowledging their personality. Like if you saw Fred on Scooby Doo and told him its annoying that he likes to solve mysterys.
Because they are the boss. Leader. In charge. Because of their biology. You are not. Are you?

As an ENTJ I find non-skippable ads excruciatingly painful, such a waste of my time for something that I am not interested in.

  • @lauriejeantzeitelliorabrow4412

It would be helpful if the gentleman would speak up more please.
I have the volume all the way up and still difficult to hear him.
Maybe just turn up the volume in general because the ads are way way louder than either one of you.
Good job on your videos 👍🏻
I like both of you very much btw.

What does "unhealthy types" actually mean?

    • @AlexisKingsley
      @AlexisKingsley  Год назад +1

Good question! By "unhealthy," I specifically mean behavior and attitude of a person that is not good for their and/or others' health (social health, emotional health, financial health, bodily health etc.) - typically due to an imbalance of or overemphasis on certain traits while neglecting others.

      @@AlexisKingsleyHow would you define "Healthy"

    • @AlexisKingsley
      @AlexisKingsley  Год назад

@@Angrycapitalist I like the world health organizations definition: a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being. So I'm speaking of a "healthy type" when someone habitually orients themself toward and does activities that get them closer to a complete well-being.

Sigh I’m not too upset because of the title of this video so I know some thoughts can be straight perspective/opinion. However, as an ENTJ do not tell me what to do. If I want to do something that may come off as me humble bragging which is spot on haha then mind your business lol I enjoy doing meaningful projects and I understand that it could rub ppl off the wrong way because others want the opportunity to bring us down to their level.

Kudos on the growth tracks section (both of you) - wisdom 👍 except yoga. That goes completely against my values. Getting outside and doing mindfulness and prayer are better ways.

  • @lauriejeantzeitelliorabrow4412

Don't go backwards on the second line please.
We read left to right in English
Line 1: left to right 1. Te then 2. Ni
Line 2: should also be left to right
    3. Se then 4. Fi
Left to Right in English please

Man, fear mongering as a stepping stone? I would not be able to sleep at night if I hurt others to get ahead like that. The idea of it actually makes me pretty mad after seeing all of the harm that has caused in the U.S. especially.. If it was not apparent, I am an infp and not an entj lol (not hating on entjs in general though. You shouldn't condemn people based on type)
