As a car modeller who always weathers his models, I can confirm that this technique that you described works great for weathered civilian vehicles, too. Black primer, base paint and mottled highlights and shadows on top make a great base for further weathering with oils, pigments, etc. Love how this tank turned out. And thank you for a very helpful video. Keep up the great work.
Yes you are right. These painting effects can be applied to almost any other type of model, not specifically an afv one. Also I used to paint my single color models following the same steps but what it comes very handy for two color subjects it's the color filter. I would say it's a must do. Cheers
Thanks! I tried to condense the content as much as I could. Sometimes it's tricky cause you have to delete interesting parts in order to get a smoother feeling.
I never get used to modulate with oils I tried in the past but never got good results, anyway they are a nice alternative as well Thanks for your comment!
I lived in Spain for a brief period, in Cuellar (Segovia)…no model makers then…too long ago. Today’s Spanish model finishing techniques are still my favorite by far…it set the standard and really hasn’t been surpassed in my opinion.
There are very talented modelers worldwide but, yeah, here in Spain I'm lucky to know great people who make stunning models Thanks for your comment! Cheers
I will definitely be using this for my next model
Cool! Willing to hear about your results
Cheers

Excellent video. I usually do the modulation with artist oils…more control for me and pleasurable.
