Also I know this comment is now inaccurate considering what happened at the end of V8 seem like the writing staff felt that the Jaune needed more trauma considering that he was moving on from Pyrrha’s death.
His family is probably the most secure, out of them all. He's also been through a hard tragedy (Yes, a number of them have, I'm not belittling them at all) and has been slowly recovering and grown a lot since then, so it actually makes sense. He's focused on the here and now, helping those he can that are with him.

The ending of the volume 7 opening looked so hopeful, with everyone united. The ending of the volume 8 opening features no people, just Ruby's weapon in the snow, all by itself. I'm very concerned.
I was thinking him or Nora. The only death I’m prepared for is Ironwood’s since it looks like it’s going to ultimately be him versus Salem (plus he’s trash now).
Seeing as the intros lyrics have always kinda foreshadowed the season's events I am really believing that Team RWBY will be utterly defeated in this season
They should, the brought out the top villain and who is always talking tough. It would be weird if she failed the same ways her henchmen did after being so forceful. The dumbest written mistake would be to push her to the front as a threat then put her in the back again.

Just something I wanted to bring attention to: Emerald appears with Neo in Cinder's scene in the opening but Mercury appears together with the rest of Salem's cabal. Given how he acted in volume 6, I imagine Mercury is going to end up more loyal to Salem than Cinder.
I agree! The theme of this volume is divide, and since our teams are split, it would make sense to split the villains. I think mercury would split from emerald because even since volume 2 they haven't had the same mindset. And neo and emerald being together, they might both realize that they don't want to be with cinder anymore, its gonna be sad once emerald realizes cinder doesn't care about her tho 😔
I also think Mercury splitting from them will help with Emerald's divide. Because despite the fact that they have very different mindsets, they do genuinely seem to care for one another, so I think Emerald is going to have the conflict of choosing between her loyalty and love for Cinder and her love for Mercury (And I don't mean romantic love, I mean like familial, brother/sister type love).

It'll probably be a really slow going process between either just this volume, or the next few. Idk though. I could be wrong. Lol.

The ending of crescent rose being all alone makes think that ruby is going to be separated from the others at the end of the volume. Probably kidnapped by Salem. That or it gets destroyed or lost.
I think its about Summer's story or past. Because that part reminds me red trailer. Of course it can be she will be last one to stand (physical or psychological) or get seperated from others (Salem kidnaps theory [also grimm hands that grab Ruby are the hands Salem used on Hazel at v6 when Salem talks about their failure, so its highly possible] or she leaves them). Anyway those were my thoughts.

I literally can't find a single problem with this opening. Literally my biggest complaint is "Not enough Neo." Which sums up a lot more than just this.

Phyra is Leonidas, who was the king of Sparta and sacrificed himself even knowing it might not be enough to do any difference, only to serve as the spark to move the armies of Sparta and the other city states. Nora is Thor who died during Ragnarok. Ren is Mulan who died for his honor and to atone for her actions of joining the army even if she was a woman And Jaune is Jean D'Arc who was burned in the stake, growing during the war she helped bring it to an end but was betrayed in the end and sacrificed for the sake of others. Basically, they are all kind of marked to die

I love all rwby intros, they show scenes that are vaguely explaining what’s about to go down. Personally I think it’s so interesting and unique to this series.

I personally think if they're going to kill a member of the main cast off this Volume it should be someone from team RWBY and well IDK who yet, but JNPR has already lost one member and I think it would be a little extra to take another one of them off the roster.

It feels to me like they purposely left the song empty to add to the uncomfortable feeling that you get watching the video. There are a lot of times where the song could resolve to a really satisfying sound that would highlight Casey’s singing ability but they chose instead to leave certain phrases unfinished to make us uncomfortable and help us see that things are about to get really dark. I’m not sure if that’s the case but if it is then you have me applause. Well done.

Seeing as the intros lyrics have always kinda foreshadowed the season's events I am really believing that Team RWBY will be utterly defeated in this season
They should, the brought out the top villain and who is always talking tough. It would be weird if she failed the same ways her henchmen did after being so forceful. The dumbest written mistake would be to push her to the front as a threat then put her in the back again.

Just something I wanted to bring attention to:
Emerald appears with Neo in Cinder's scene in the opening but Mercury appears together with the rest of Salem's cabal.
Given how he acted in volume 6, I imagine Mercury is going to end up more loyal to Salem than Cinder.
I agree! The theme of this volume is divide, and since our teams are split, it would make sense to split the villains. I think mercury would split from emerald because even since volume 2 they haven't had the same mindset. And neo and emerald being together, they might both realize that they don't want to be with cinder anymore, its gonna be sad once emerald realizes cinder doesn't care about her tho 😔
I also think Mercury splitting from them will help with Emerald's divide. Because despite the fact that they have very different mindsets, they do genuinely seem to care for one another, so I think Emerald is going to have the conflict of choosing between her loyalty and love for Cinder and her love for Mercury (And I don't mean romantic love, I mean like familial, brother/sister type love).

I think its about Summer's story or past. Because that part reminds me red trailer. Of course it can be she will be last one to stand (physical or psychological) or get seperated from others (Salem kidnaps theory [also grimm hands that grab Ruby are the hands Salem used on Hazel at v6 when Salem talks about their failure, so its highly possible] or she leaves them). Anyway those were my thoughts.

Phyra is Leonidas, who was the king of Sparta and sacrificed himself even knowing it might not be enough to do any difference, only to serve as the spark to move the armies of Sparta and the other city states.
Nora is Thor who died during Ragnarok.
Ren is Mulan who died for his honor and to atone for her actions of joining the army even if she was a woman
And Jaune is Jean D'Arc who was burned in the stake, growing during the war she helped bring it to an end but was betrayed in the end and sacrificed for the sake of others.
Basically, they are all kind of marked to die

I love all rwby intros, they show scenes that are vaguely explaining what’s about to go down. Personally I think it’s so interesting and unique to this series.

@@cherrydragon3120 I don't think they'll kill Ren off because of Monty's legacy and such and Ruby almost definitely won't be the last one standing because Blake's VA has already confirmed she's recording her lines for Volume 9.
I personally think if they're going to kill a member of the main cast off this Volume it should be someone from team RWBY and well IDK who yet, but JNPR has already lost one member and I think it would be a little extra to take another one of them off the roster.

She hasn’t used her time dilation in LITERAL YEARS!! Apparently time dilation is a normal glyph imbued with lightning dust, so I’m really curious what other kinds of glyphs she could make with Gravity, Hard light, and other forms of dust. Too bad they never experiment with the character who has the most diverse move set 😔
Definitely, and again, can we see Blake use dust to augment her semblance? Or even Yang use anything OTHER than her sticky detonators? They're cool but for once I'd like her to not just rapid fire punch them on to everything and actually reclaim her unique brawling style. If that happens, I'll be happy for months.

My dumb ass didn’t see Zwei for a second and was genuinely confused. Lol
It feels to me like they purposely left the song empty to add to the uncomfortable feeling that you get watching the video. There are a lot of times where the song could resolve to a really satisfying sound that would highlight Casey’s singing ability but they chose instead to leave certain phrases unfinished to make us uncomfortable and help us see that things are about to get really dark. I’m not sure if that’s the case but if it is then you have me applause. Well done.
