Guillermo Del Toro is a genius when it comes to making Comic book movies. They should have brought him back for Blade 3, but I guess he was too busy working on HELLBOY and the Oscar Winning Pan's Labyrinth.
Blade 2 is one of those rare sequels that was better than the original. (and I loved the original! I went through 2 VHS and 2 DVDs! 😵💫) I have watched it many times!
I agree with you, other examples are Lord of The Rings 2, Pirates of The Carribean 2, and (in my humble opinion) John Wick 2. Also Terminator 2 like the other commenter said

I'd watch Blade 2 almost anytime I'd find it on; I loved turning the vampire trope on it's head. Now, the "top of the food chain" is just another prey animal for a superior organism, one that doesn't care about power, prestige or esthetics. One of my friends used to hate the Reapers, kept asking what their plan was once they fed on every vamp and human in the world, and I'd always say "they're junkies man; they only plan between fixes."
The Blade Trilogy is an incredible masterpiece of a dark comic original full of lore, action, badassery, and horror.🖤🔥👏🏼👏🏼 I do hope the next Blade film delivers the same concept and context as its predecessors, unlike Morbius. You should make a video on Blade: Trinity.🙌🏼 Love watching that one, it was my first Blade film.
I’d love to see them bring Snipes back to play the MCU version of Whistler!!!!! Who can do more badass scenes then the aged actor Kris was able to do!!! Plus I just think it will be definitely respectful to bring Wesley snipes back!!!!
Blade 1 and 2 are classics.. Part3 was horrible.. I’m mad that Marvel treated Blade like a bad stepchild.. the movie saved Marvel from sinking.. but they didn’t show Blade or Wesley Snipes no love by having him in any of the upcoming marvel movies🚮 Avengers or anything🤦🏾♂️

When I was a kid I loved blade 1. Then I watched blade 2 at a friends birthday party. I could hardly sleep for a week after that movie, it was terrifying. As an adult I don’t find them scary but man that movie messed me up as a child.
Blade... The awesome series that deserves an animated series and expanded series with actors as well as another movie. All of them ! :] Think about it more creatures (they kinda wanted to include werewolves and such too - cut scenes) but same Hunter/s. That would be epic

Yeah he is an amazing artist that designs most of the creatures and art in his own movies. Its insane how talented he is. There is a little sketchbook he carried around on the set of Blade 2 filled with incredibly detailed sets and monsters

My little brother had a terrible Reece's cup sweet tooth and what was funny is that the scene on this movie where he pulls out the piece of glass from the dope dealer and sucks on it saying "mmm mmm so, so sweet" ever since that scene he would say it the exact same way after he ate one 😂
Del Toro should've done the 3rd movie. Imagine how great it would been? Idk how they're going to make blade a pg13 movie... Maybe Disney could allow a rated r rating like Deadpool?
When Del Toro is involved you can expect awesome visuals, creatures, and special effects. In terms of consistent plot/story elements and action, however, there is much to be desired, at least in my opinion.
The replay value on this film is epic. Watched it countless times over the years for thst balls out action/horror fix 👍. Snipes IS Blade in this film, and no one will ever be able to hold a candle to his version of the character in this film.
When Blade first came out, I was 9 and didn't see it until it came out for rental. It was scary to me at the time, but so exciting and cool. The vampires though, were still more romanticized a bit, as they were in many 90s vampire films. With Blade they were more edgy. Blade 2 came along 4 years later and Del Toro took vampires and made them truly frightening in a way that had not been done before. Like uncompromising, uncaring, and hungry creatures. Terrifying in their familiarity because of their human like appearance while also being completely leech like. Having been altered to the point of brutal and gruesome efficiency in their singular drive to feed. Del Toro would continue with this "vampire type" in wonderful The Strain book and FX series. Thank you for doing a video on this. As always, you do an amazing job diving into yet another underappreciated film.
A great film and to me I believe is not only the favorite of many Blade fans and audiences but also the main reason as to why there is always a demand for a new Blade movie or series but also the reason everything thing else has fallen short. Because this is not only one of my favorite Wesley Snipes movies but I feel this was the film that perfectly grabbed and depicted the vampires in great ways. One and Trinity simply had the vamps either as nobles thinking they are better than everyone or simple put like Frost and his team nothing but punks. Vs Two we see that yes most vamps are punks but you have many that are smart and calculating. We see this in the Vamps at the blood bank and even with the twisted nature Demoscinos and his plan. But you see the ruthless nature of the Blood Pack not to mention there abilities in many different ways throughoutthe film. And I think you look at that everyone involved in the film just made for a great movie that is still enjoyed by many to this day.

Nomak was such a chad, and I love the irony that Vampires pretty much ruled the world behind the scenes, but Dominask or whatever the elder's name was, lost that power by overreaching.
Spotty CGI aside, this is such a great film that’s highly underrated.

Donny Yen was originally just a stunt, and fight coordinator for the film. They were so impressed with his skills, they wrote him into the film.

Snipes was great. I'm not sure what happened to his career but the Blade movies are by far the best Marvel movies.
Soundtrack is badass. My favorite blade. Great storytelling/plot.
The fights is this movie are absolute brilliant
Blade walked so the MCU could run, then trip, then stagger.
My personal favorite of the trilogy and just one of the best sequels in general to a great movie

The additional opening of jaws was nightmare fuel the first time I watched this. It still is.
