Huawei phones are my favourite and especially without Google weighing them down. Screens are beautiful - very responsive, amazing camera - even the entry model of the P40 lite and battery life is easily two days for me.

He missed the point that when you use Google Chrome, and opening RUclips with the option of "Desktop Version" you can play your music in the background. It's kind of silly for me Buying or using an other version of RUclips app, just to play videos in the background.
There are no evidence that huwai is spying on you it is just an assumption. So i dont care. Even US dont have any evidence on that. US is only stopping huwai because of china.

About first phone with 2 telephoto cameras, the Xiaomi mi note 10 Pro had a 2x optical portrait camera plus a 5x optical and the Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro also have dual telephoto cameras
I got 11 Huawei products and will keep going! Bought the P30 Pro this year instead of the P40 Pro Plus as well... giving the Huawei Ecosystem more time to grow and develop.
I used p20 pro and Mate20 pro. And I compared the photos side by side. I think Mate20 pro is a SCAM. Single word explanation. Mate 20 camera quality sucks. Both front and back. I’m worried if this is the case with latest mate series also. I’m really huwaei Fan, but unhappy with their mate family.

I’ve switched from my iPhone 11 Pro Max to the P40 Pro+ for the camera tech and design, it really is a fantastic looking phone, as for software, it takes me back to Blackberry devices when they 1st came out not having quite the same functions as everyone else and I loved it, and almost every App that I use are currently available between Huawei store or Petal search, despite this, I have managed to side load Google Mobile Services onto it with no problem, wasn’t an easy task but, it works, all the apps that I had downloaded were instantly recognised by GMS and updated, would it have bothered me if I couldn’t have done this, absolutely not, it really is a great phone and for most users, it’s more than capable of keeping ahead of most manufacturers right now.
Hey Peter, aye, it’s no stereo having just the bottom firing speaker but it is loud, can’t say I’ve missed the stereo sound, what I have noticed though when pairing to my AirPods Pro, they sound better than they did when paired to my iPhone previously, think that’s because there are so many settings within the huawei music player
I have the P40 Pro and I absolutely love it. Admittedly, I also have a Galaxy Fold with Google Services on it for all those Google Services needs so I don't really experience any issues with my P40 Pro not having Google Services. I love the cameras on the P40 Pro, the quality is even more noticeable when I look at the difference between those and the pictures I can take on the Fold. While the Fold is able to take pictures with nice colour and everything, the detail on the P40 Pro is just lightyears ahead of the Fold.
I've noticed almost all reviewers seem unable to pronounce Huawei's name properly. Proper pronunciation is hwa-way, not wa-way. Not that it matters, I guess.
I hope the Huawei saga... makes other phone developers grow & develop their respective marketplace. I'm looking at to you Samsung & LG I love Innovation & Competition
Yes. Even i buyed huawei nova 7i/p40 lite that don't have google play services. So far its really good for me. Only problem was youtube but i installed youtube vanced and now its perfect.

I'm not sure why all RUclipsrs are praising this device overall.. I had S20 Plus and I got this also and the biggest cons which I found in this device are - 1. Display - It's no where crisp and clear in comparison to Samsung's display. I was using both devices at FHD but Samsung is way better. 2. Software - This is the biggest bottleneck. It's easy to say that you've multiple ways of getting the apps but being an Android users from past 7 yrs and moreover I'm full aware of all tips and tricks, I don't think I can use this phone as daily driver. More than half of the apps which are on Huawei App store are throwing google play services related error. Only good thing here is Battery, Camera Build.
I agree with you, I would go a step further, if I have so many limitations, why not just buy an iPhone? Owning an Android phone comes with a freedom that that phone lacks

I was able to get Google Play Services working on my P40 Pro without having to root my device. It's hands down my favorite right now. Over my S20 Ultra, my OnePlus 8 Pro, and over my 11 Pro Max.
When you start talking about the software and the apps that are not available makes me less interested in buying this phone even though I would like this phone 4 the camera quality but I know there are lots of websites that offer apps to download even apps that are not available on Google store
App finder, Patel search and Huawei app gallery have all the apps available like full Google play. I'm really happy with Huawei p40 Pro and for getting rid of that Google all stuff

Honestly, for RUclips, use vanced. The one thing I personally found missing was maps. As someone that travels a lot, it was essential for me. Everything else is available through the amazon app store or the huawei app gallery. Was sorry to hear that Leicester lost. Y'all were flying high for the longest time, just needed to keep the momentum going in the second half of the season.

5G ban doesn't really affect this device, but IC chipset production ban probably will. Heard that Huawei will not have anymore Kirin 990 chipset from TSMC afterward. Without Kirin 990, the performance will be a big concern.

Hey Celia just isn't as good, she didn't recognise simple towns or words at times and comes up with a negative response, so much so I don't bother now. The camera is very good, but not sure a 10X zoom was worth the extra £400, think with hindsight I should've bought the P40 Pro with the 5X zoom, as this would've been adequate, the 100X zoom is not worth bothering with and no useful or good enough to print off, (though it's way better than Samsungs 100X zoom)! I'm liking the phone and have all I need, only things that are a pain are the banking apps via Petal search which are via the browser so more of a pain to get in to each time, but hopefully the apps will come soon. Yeah, but what people are failing to point out, even if you do manage to download Apps like whats app it relies on Google drive, so you will have missed messages etc if recipient send messages in poor signal areas. Also Petal, just gives a web sign in short cut, which on mine as im UK Based for ebay is the web sign in for eBay SG - Yep which is a web sign in for eBay Singapore! This is a brilliant brilliant device hardware wise, infact a world beating phone, but crippled with the lack of google. Also may APPS although can be found and installed will not funtion without GMS.

Very easy. Petal Search is basically playstore (millions of apps). Just download from there. Huawei will ensure its safe and secure before installing and updates are automatic. No individual app updating required. Really no different from playstore.

It's still an expensive phone by any standard...but the cameras plus a slightly more pocket friendly size is good. I would have liked an even bigger battery, 4500mhA would have been nice, but it seems to work. White balance changes with the zoom which is a real pain. I am waiting for Mate 40 pro. I am using mate 20 pro now which is still working fantastic. As far as I know, Huawei gives 3 OS updates to its Mate Pro series, so I think I will get Android 11 as well. Can SuperSaf clearify about how many OS updates do Huawei top level phone gets? Thanks

I tried the P40 Pro plus and it is awesome. If there is Google support it will be the top phone of the year beating Samsung in term of cameras. It is just sad that politic gets in the way of the customers.

My documents are updated to Huawei cloud, I am waiting for Huawei Pay to start. I listen to Huawei Music and watch movies on Huawei videos.

You get Google map app. It works perfectly. No problem whatsoever.

You can use RUclips Vanced installed of RUclips and you dont have to pay for premium subscription to get pro feature of youtube too.
Or add RUclips from browser to your homescreen. But you have so many alternatives like newpipe, vanced...

This is a brilliant brilliant device hardware wise, infact a world beating phone, but crippled with the lack of google. Also may APPS although can be found and installed will not funtion without GMS.

Ok.. so what about my app updates, do i need to check for updates on every apps official site for their updates..?? and without Play services, it is not possible to login to any of the apps on which my Gmail is linked.. so many restrictions are there without Play services...
You'll probably have to update your apps on your old Google-supported phone and clone them again to your P40 Pro. Very annoying...

It's still an expensive phone by any standard...but the cameras plus a slightly more pocket friendly size is good. I would have liked an even bigger battery, 4500mhA would have been nice, but it seems to work. White balance changes with the zoom which is a real pain. Great reviews Saf, and what a shame about Leicester...!

I am waiting for Mate 40 pro. I am using mate 20 pro now which is still working fantastic. As far as I know, Huawei gives 3 OS updates to its Mate Pro series, so I think I will get Android 11 as well. Can SuperSaf clearify about how many OS updates do Huawei top level phone gets? Thanks

App finder, Patel search and Huawei app gallery have all the apps available like full Google play. I'm really happy with Huawei p40 Pro and for getting rid of that Google all stuff.

I tried the P40 Pro plus and it is awesome. If there is Google support it will be the top phone of the year beating Samsung in term of cameras. It is just sad that politic gets in the way of the customers.

@@gokul-bharathi1060 You will have access to all apps via petal Search. Some Google specific apps work with no issues (Google maps chrome). I use Huawei drive instead of Google drive. My documents are updated to Huawei cloud, I am waiting for Huawei Pay to start. I listen to Huawei Music and watch movies on Huawei videos.
