When you zoom, you loose the amount of pixels...
Anyhow, I love my Huawei P20 Pro and still way better than most new phones out there. And it's the longest cellphone I've ever used exactly 2 years now. BTW you don't need that 100x zoom just buy those mobile lenses like "Moment" lenses for you mobile phone that you can use for many years and to any mobile phones. It makes your picture even better and look like a pro.
Hi.. I think you're confusing a digital zoom vs optical zoom. (Optical is what this phone has, up to 10x.. lower resolution, but real zoom.. . not simply resizing/re-cropping an image).

I am a bit dissappointed by these images of the zoom. I was expecting a big improvement but i dont see much difference with the p40 pro in 50x and 100x. I am still using my p30 pro and think i will keep it for a while.
Hows the camera quality after the latest update? Id really really love to get the p30 pro, however i've heard its not as good as when it was first released :(
@@legendarylily7402 its very good man, the zoom is better than every other company, you can get a p 30vpro for about 500 / 550 dollars or euros which is a very good deal, trust me, I got mine for Christmas, and very very good battery life and you take amazing pictures, and yes zoom above 15 x is useless you will never use the 50x zoom or the stupid galaxy 100 zoom, very very good phone buy it
@@julianrock5665 The zoom really aint better than any other company. At this point s20 ultra and oppo find x2 pro have better quality zoom, while Mi Note 10 has cheaper and nearly as good x50 zoom.

@@julianrock5665 Yes I use the zoom more like binoculars. Which is a handy tool to use when checking out wildlife, like bird watching ect. And well, if your on the beach it's good to make sure you can spot that yellow polka dot Bikini lol

Explain this: how is it possible for my old huawei mate 10 pro to take a sharper image at 1x normal focal length than p40 pro? I admit, i took the picture with the black and white sensor, but still, the difference is really noticeable, the details are way better than that of the p40 pro! Just wanted to share my experience and give you guys a heads up, you can test the phones foe yourselves and see how sharp the black and white sensors really used to be.
I wish we had a really competent main camera, zoom lenses are great for an extra perspective but the best zoom is our own feet. Get closer to the shot and utilise that great image quality at 50 iso
Actually, previous Huawei phones oversharpened its images during post-processing and I compared it with the P9 Plus to find it waaay inferior to the P30 Pro. The P30 Pro is somewhat less better than the P40 Pro or the +.
@@shawarmaboy17 it could most probably be the case indeed, curious to see what you can do with a p40pro . raw file; even if it's an oversharpening matter, I'm content with my mate 10 pro black and white images, the sharpening algorithm is quite good.
Awesome comparison man, have been eagerly awaiting for you to get your hands on the p40 Pro plus to see if it worth getting over the p 40 pro. I decided to just go with the normal p 40 pro. I think it's worth mentioning however that just because you have 100 times zoom it does no mean that you have to go all the way to 100. Its great for getting better quality 30 and even 50 times zoom.

I returned the S20 Ultra after two days. Camera can't focus properly, no macro, close-up are a real pain in the ass, the 100x Zoom is useless and the night mode is crap (compared to Huawei P30 Pro for example). The S20 Ultra put an end to my Samsung experience. I am talking about the Exynox version. The Snapdragos seems to be a different story.
So yup, took it back immediately because it's a total rip off and I am now waiting for the P40 Pro Plus. Too bad for the Google services, but Huawei is developing so fast, I am not even worried.
@@alinutzasnowdrop I haven't had any of those problems with my Exynos S20 Ultra. In fact my night mode is amazing now after the latest update.

Quick question, how's the screen's white balance? Is it more yellowish white or more bluish white? I have a mate 20 Pro and noticed the white balance on the P40 Pro is more yellowish white.

I want to get the Pro+. Can someone please answer the following:
- can Pro Mode be used with all lenses? I'm interested in manually adjusting ISO and exposure while shooting video with the 3x and 10x lenses in particular.
- can I turn off all post-processing? I have Galaxy S10 and the default camera app ruins the output - yellows get boosted, edges sharpened etc.
- are third party camera apps allowed access to the 3x and 10x lenses? I don't want to just use the default Huawei app.
- can I use the flash LED as a flashlight while shooting video?
- how does the mic fare at loud indoor concerts?
Regular P40pro uses new 5gen LG E6 toc p-oled{same display is in mate 30pro}display and 3gen Boe display{asia}.P40pro plus allegedly will use Samsung amoled.BTW same LG E6 display will be only supplier for future iphone12 pro while regular iphone will have Samsung amoled display.Last year P30pro allegedly only had Boe(Huawei also listed Boe as only supplier) displays but in several teardowns it was shown that every display was made by Lg.Huawei hide that fact for full year all beacuse of gluegate incident.

Is the P40 Pro Plus still on pre-production software? Because the zoomed photos were basically the same as the P40 Pro, when they are meant to be twice as clear when zoomed in at 10X and beyond, right? For the record, clearly everything beyond 30x is for bragging rights, and probably for some very well lit and defined objects like signs, text on buildings etc.

its not always a matter if you wish more apps in a appstore . its more a matter if you paid for an app in playstore and you wnat this app back on your new phone you need playstore or you must buy it elsewhere again

Yes, I've installed GMS on my Mate30pro since January, the apps been updated a few times already.
I am huge Huawei fan but: This phone (P40pro+) is too havy. Best ratio weight/screen diagonal is at (bad bad bad) S20+ and ultra or 1+ 8Pro. Next huawei phones must meet this ratio. Anyway its the best already :)
Does anyone know how that Mate 30 Pro feature of hiding notification when the camera detects another face works on this series? On Huawei website they claim that this feature is available, but I can't understand if is automatically turn on
