    I bought this camera a few months ago too (its called the AF-1 Mini over here in the UK) and it does produce some really nice images for a point and shoot (and it has tape on the battery door...), I did also compare it to an mju on my channel and whilst the mju I felt was slightly better in terms of the image quality and subject separation, the Inifinity Mini for me has been more reliable and remains in active service (I got rid of the mju because it was unreliable in that it often missed the focus and overexposed the images). Also, even though the mju is smaller, its almost too small as invariably my fingers from holding the camera wrong ended up in the frame; that doesn't happen as much with this camera. Thanks for the video.

      That's awesome. Glad I'm not the only can of this little thing. I wish I had a MJU for a direct comparison but it's helpful to know that you chose this one. Cheers!

    Great user review Joe! Having multiple instance of a camera is not weird. Or at least that is what I think, since I have 2x the Cosina CT-1a\A, 3X the Canon EOS 300V and 4X the Yashica 35-ME (and I will buy an extra one if the occasion rises) In Europe this camera is called the AF-10 mini. There is also a AF-10 Super (Infinity Super?) that has the flash on the usual place and a handy flash switch under the lens.

    • @JTobiason
      @JTobiason  2 года назад +1

      Yea! I 100% agree. Especially since all these things are dying breeds (and are even harder to get fixed), if you like it and see a deal, jump on it!

      Glad you enjoyed it! It's an awesome camera! Enjoy, but also be nice to it. It's great, but not the most durable thing ever (since making this video, another copy of mine is acting a little funny).

    I love the qualities of this fabulous little camera. Purchased mine when they first came out and used it until it failed two years ago. Managed to replace it with one purchased for me in Japan for almost nothing. For something so small and simple, it produces results that rival my larger and supposedly more capable slrs.
    Build quality is a problem, especially around the battery door, but the rest of the camera has some basic weather sealing.

    • @JTobiason
      @JTobiason  Год назад +1

      Totally agree. It's so great and packs so much in such a small camera. Also completely agree about the build quality, but I guess you can't wish for everything.

    I had one of these way back when they first came out, I bought it for a holiday in France, it was my first decent camera 📷
    It produced surprisingly stunning results, I can honestly compare it favourably with the mju II zoom 170 and mju zoom 105 models I've recently used, obviousky this one doesn't have the zoom lens, videos on my channel.
    Annoying thing is, I still have this canera somewhere, just can't place it......😲😳

    I just got this camera at a thrift store for $5! I’m so glad I got it after seeing your review, I was being hesitant about it. Can’t wait to start shooting with it. I plan to use for color photos. Which film do you recommend with it, from the ones you have used?

    • @JTobiason
      @JTobiason  2 года назад +2

      Oh man! That's the dream! Way to go!
      For color film, I usually use Kodak Gold 200 or ColorPlus 200. But, I rate them at 100. And since you can't change the ISO in this camera, I just put a strip of scotch tape over the DX code (If that doesn't make sense, I have a video on why I do that. not to be too self promotional, but just to explain why).

    • @JTobiason
      @JTobiason  2 года назад

      I've used a lot, but the ones in this video were probably Kodak Gold 200 if color or Kentmere 400 if BW.

    Love my pocketable, palm-able Oly mju i, not the sharpest lens, didn't pay much for it though. I grew up with these so just call me sentimental. Those Oly P&S's are a lot of fun for what they are, so no complaints...:)

    My Olympus Infinity Mini broke, and so I replaced it with a Nikon One Touch 200. While both cameras have sharp 35mm f3.5 lenses, I do prefer the Nikon much more. The Nikon is more durable than the Olympus and the autofocus is faster as well (I had more out of focus shots from the Olympus than the Nikon). Plus the Nikon is cheaper! Great camera

    Hard to see how anyone could excessively underrate this camera. It mounts the 3 element 3.5 lens shared with the Myu-1, being the worst lens Oly ever put on a point-n-shoot. I just went on ebay to see just what the current pricing for this is. Of the first dozen cameras listed, 10 were broken, being offered for "parts", as though anyone could or would try to repair one.. The only one camera clearly listed as working and in good condition was offered for $175, proving that ebay is where fools go to be separated from their money. It does offer the option of using 2 AA or one 123 batteries - never seen that before and a great idea. If you are drawn to this camera, rush to your local Goodwill and grab some Vivitar off the $3 rack.
