Just the other day I found the most simple method of keeping my glasses from fogging when wearing a mask. It defies 50 years of glasses wearing when I would constantly be pushing my glasses up as high on my nose after they had slid down. Just lower your glasses on your nose a bit until they rest on the top of your mask to the point where it seals the mask from leaking air. It's simple, works immediately, nothing else is needed.
@@helendavies3929 Actually what I do now is to take my glasses off and put my mask on making sure it is high up on the bridge of my nose and then put my glasses back on. It works as well and my glasses are sitting on my face normally.

Jennifer, thanks for the tips on how to prevent glasses from "fogging." I have had this problem especially when it is cold outside and it is very annoying.
I lower my glasses further down my nose. It creates more space so your breath doesn't gather behind your glasses. I have trifocals, so it doesn't work if I had to read because the magnifier portion of my lenses would be too far from my eyes. The only place I'd have to read anything with a mask these days is at the grocery, so it's just a quick adjustment making sure my barbeque sauce doesn't have high fructose corn syrup.
@Bill Scott I thought you were talking about the effectiveness of masks. I was going to suggest the next time you undergo surgery to tell the doctor and staff to not wear masks, and see how that goes. However, you don't think Covid even exists. Understandable to think that way in the first few months of the pandemic. But by now you should have acknowledged it's existence. I've had two family members get sick from Covid. My wife is an RN who had to administer CPR to a dying Covid patient. You win this argument, because I don't know what else to tell you, other than I hope you and your family don't get sick from Covid.
@Bill Scott I'm sold! I never saw that study from "they." Thank goodness for scholarly RUclips research. This reminds me of a YT comment I made discussing flat earth theory. I mentioned to a flat earther how you can see mountains slowly rise in the distance as you drive towards them, giving cedence to a round earth. His response was that our eyeballs are round so that gives everything a rounded appearance. I couldn't talk to a person with square eyeballs to say otherwise, so I let that go (not a life-or-death conversation). You citing "they" is sort of the same brick wall argument technique. Normally I ignore jagoff troll comments, but man, do I want want to kick your ass. I feel it's a public service at this point. I might save a life for the one or two random people bored enough to read this.
The folded Kleenex method seems like the most workable. I'm finding I need to put at least two folded Kleenexes under the top part of the mask to prevent most fogging while sitting down. It doesn't work 100%, but it's better than nothing.
Try buying the "Henry type" hoover bags, they have a filter layer similar to a surgeon's mask. I just fit it flush inside my mask . If you make sure that the metal piece over your nose is shaped properly, your glasses will not fog up. Hope you have success.
After a month of stubbornly resisting I finally shaved my beard and found it made a _huge_ difference when wearing a mask. My glasses still fog a bit (even with two folded Kleenexes), but much less than before. I can see now! I think the mask is less airtight without the beard, which makes it easier to wear.
The only problem with the kleenex or tissue method is that we could be inhaling particles out of the material itself that might irritate us and make us sneeze often. I believe they are made of recycled paper :(

How does shampoo that was rinsed off prevent condensation on cold glasses? I'm more interested in the physics than anything else. The issue really only occurs outside where masks aren't needed (but the hands may be occupied to pull it off) or for a short period of time after entering a building.
Using a soap to create a thin film on the glass is essentially creating a surfactant which lowers surface tension between air-moisture contact on the lenses. At art school working with glass, we use Dawn liquid soap, just a drop on the glass, then wipe off with a non-linting cloth like paper towel. A very thin film of soap will remain that shouldn't blur vision. Again avoid touching the lenses with fingers.

She's got incredible eyes.
Her irises seem too large to be natural so she's likely wearing circle contact lenses

@@IlyesZ-m2m Honestly, I see this lame reply all over RUclips nowadays. Anyone praising a woman over anything gets called out as a "simp". Dunno who invented this, but it certainly doesn't make anyone seem intelligent!
@@Vendemiair You're right. They're contact lenses.
A nice rack too 😊
Thank you thank you it is so frustrating having my glasses fog up especially at times I need to see. These are wonderful methods. Again thank you, you are also very nice and really friendly
How does shampoo that was rinsed off prevent condensation on cold glasses? I'm more interested in the physics than anything else. The issue really only occurs outside where masks aren't needed (but the hands may be occupied to pull it off) or for a short period of time after entering a building.
Thanks for the tips. I've been getting very frustrated at my foggy glasses.
Wow... she's GORGEOUS!
Someone suggested putting shaving cream on your lenses. Tried it but couldn’t see thru that stuff at all. ;-)
Good one! 😆
👏👍😂
😂
lol
Additional question: my glasses is transition & progressive. Does baby shampoo doesnt harm my glass? Was it applicable on any type of glass?

Dr. Tsai, I have a couple questions so I hope you come back and read these comments and reply.
1. Your demonstrations are all with disposable paper masks. Would methods 1&2 work OK for reusable cloth masks too?
2. With regards to method 2, does the surgical tape stay sticky enough if we need to take the mask off then put it back on a few times (for example, eating lunch out)?
Thank you for your tips, Doctor; I'm going to try out method 1 first thing tomorrow!
Thank you, this way helpful. Note Johnson & Johnson baby shampoo should never be used on anyone as shampoo. It is not gentle on hair. My aunt is a professional who studied different shampoos. There is a chemical in J&J that does make it less irritating to eyes, but hair and scalp best saved with other shampoos.
Thank you Doctor!!! Appreciate the tips..😎 Have a Blessed day☀️
these are great tips! spent half a year struggling! thank you
To start off with i though the blue part was ment to be the other way round as I've never had to wear one before

Great video. This fog is really annoying and I tried a couple of different methods but I din't know about these ones. Thanks for post.
You got to be kidding me. Wanted to check out this video for a while and finally did. You got to be kidding me
Dr. Jennifer has great teeth. Dentist dream.
If you twist the loops then put them over your ears it will tighten them up
What, your ears ?
I use paper tape and that works just as well as surgical tape. It works miracles!
hi girl . if my doctor was like you i think i would be sickly two or three times a week!!!! how good of doctor you are i will never know bub your very easy to look at. good information on masking thank beautiful you very very much!!!
Jennifer, Hi thank's for your video and tip's . I wear glasses and I discovered if I wear mask without covering up my nose while wearing it .That work's too ! My glasses do not fog up ! But I have a problem looking at your videos because my glasses keep getting foggy over your great beauty girl ! :)
I never go to a doctor, i'm wearing 20 year old glasses, but if she was available, I'd certainly go as often as possible.
You DO sound proud of yourself for not getting regular eye checkups. Please be careful, as these checkups can detect early signs of potentially severe health problems such as hemorrhoids. Of course that may make you uncomfortable if that fine young thing were your doctor... You choice.
Watching this babe makes my glasses fog up!
I’m watching these before I have to go to school, because they sent out an order that we have to-
Same
😞 just remember, wash your hands often and try not to be too close to people. I wish this is over soon.
Same😓
@@LaPrincesaKarin kinda hard to social distance when there are a lot of people in your school
this is me after school looking up on RUclips how to stop fogging up glasses lol 😂
Best is use a little shaving cream and buff it on the lens with soft paper towel. It works great on spectacle lens and its great at preventing fog buildup on car glass also .
Thank you, Dr. Tsai. I have this problem a lot. That was very helpful.
By the way, whatever you're doing, you're a stunning lady. Don't pay attention to the negative nonsense in the comments.
Oh my God, she is so gorgeous...
Now I feel like going to the hospital...
CAREFUL- these LIBERAL MORONS on hre wil be criticizing you for saying she' attractive like they did ME- calling me PIGGY etc.. bunch of liberal MORONS that have NO sense of morals or the good decency to know a COMPLIMENT when they hear one.

She fogged up my glasses!😃
Thank you!
I’ve been dealing with this issue lately specially this time of year during the rainy season here in Vancouver
Cheers!
@Fred Wills They are probably in BC but in my Vancouver and their Vancouver no it does not rain non-stop all year. :) In Vancouver WA/ Portland OR. we can get 5 months with little to no rain. I bet they have a similar summer season though they definitly get more rain per year.
Thank you Dr.wonderwoman for these tips. I can feel at ease coming home at night now... will definately try these out. I would just let the fog clear away on its own (its a small joy to see) but when you life is at risk because your response to stop at the car in front of you...... you get my drift.
May I ask on the 3 method. How long does it work? Thanks very informative

Since lockdown I didn't wear my eye glass coz it's fogging and thanks.
I use the surgical tape. It works extremely well. Try it and you can start wearing your glasses again
thanks a lot i always get my glasses fogged when wearing a mask and these 3 methods are really useful
Even astronauts apparently use the No Tears Baby Shampoo to prevent fogging. As As they used to use a mixture of, standard liquid soap and I think some kind of oils; which ended up temporarily blinding an astronaut, who was on a space walk engaging in shuttle repairs. Some scary stuff. Nice video 😊
When scuba diving we spit into our glass so they will not fog up.
Great idea NOT if you have COVID!
I remember doing this when I was in the keys its a life saver
Last for up to a hour and a half.

Is she really GORGEOUS!..? or is there a problem with my glasses. I can't Tell.!
she sure is!
Your glasses are just fine.
As a glass wearing person, Thank you.
Very informative. I have spend decades in an OR wearing a mask and have been using method 1 once i needed glasses.
One thing about masks: they really put focus on the eyes.
Thank you very much for this valuable video ❤️
Thank you so much this is so helpful this literally happens to me all the time in class
This happens to be also in class!!
I got fog up my heart 💓 after I saw her eyes
Thank you so much!! I cannot wait to try these methods!!
Thanks, I will try these.
Sorry, most of the comments are not very helpful. I was hoping that I can get additional useful advice, but there was none.
Very good tips, I like the shampoo idea the best, but what works for me best is simply rest your glasses on the outside of your mask and not where you normally would.
